Welcome[edit]

Hello, Myorganicfamily, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you have edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then get me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that if more than one person is using this account to edit, then unfortunately it will be blocked from editing.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Intelligentsium 01:05, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your comment on my talk page. As you seem familiar with the COI guidelines, it is apparent to me that another editor has already brought the issue to your attention. In your comment, you referenced "guidelines", but you were unclear as to whether these were Wikipedia's guidelines or your company's own guidelines. Note that Wikipedia does not do free webhosting or advertising; all subjects, including organizations and companies, must meet our guidelines for inclusion. If you are affiliated with the subject of this article in some way, as is evident from your username, you might wish to change your username; if your username is viewed as promotional or seen to represent a group (or even to imply that more than one person edits from your account) you may be blocked. I have not filed at WP:UAA, to give you a chance to voluntarily change your username. You will also have a problem if your account is operated by more than one person, as evidenced by some of your comments on my talk page; you may wish to publicly renounce this and make sure there is only one person editing from your account. Even if you were not trying to advertise, you may still be seen as doing so because of the similarity of your username and the site to which you were adding links; a look at that site, however, reveals it is commercial, and while one link to a commercial website in an article about that website is acceptable, multiple unnecessary links, especially if accompanied by advert-like statements such as "Ely Organics - Your Source for Miessence Certified Organics, ONEgroup Independent Representative", may result in a block. Please seriously consider the issues raised above, and change your username.

P.S., it is not necessary to SHOUT, nor is it necessary to add personal contact information. I have redacted your contact information to prevent your becoming a target for spambots and stalkers. Intelligentsium 01:30, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
P.P.S., While you can undo my reversion yourself, I strongly caution you against doing so. Intelligentsium 01:32, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your willingness to heed my concerns. You can find out who created an article by looking in the history, which you can do by clicking the "history" tab at the top of any page. A look at said history reveals that the original contributor to Miessence is User:Thehelpfulone. We have a list of our policies, if you wish to find out more about how Wikipedia is run. Be aware, however, that Wikipedia is not a Usenet; Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and should be treated like one. In response to your other concern, I reverted the edit by Erinely because the statement "If you are looking for Representatives in your area, you can go to the corporate website: http://www.mionegroup.com and request a Representative in your area or you can search online to find a miessence representative." added in the edit is promotional. If you are in some way connected to this user, please ask them not to make promotional edits, and to read up on our policies and guidelines. If you are this user (which I will assume you are not) please note we have policies against operating multiple accounts for purposes of deception. And it is not necessary to ask for forgiveness. Everyone (including myself) has made mistakes; the important thing is that we learn from them, and not repeat them. Again, welcome to Wikipedia! Intelligentsium 23:49, 3 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[1]. Wikipedia is not to be used for advertising. I have filed a report at WP:COIN. You may find it and comment here. Intelligentsium 23:16, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for spam, advertising, or promotion. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. You have violated one or more of our rules, including rules against adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, using Wikipedia for promotion, and editing inappropriately with a conflict of interest. This kind of activity is considered spamming and is forbidden by Wikipedia's policies. Although Wikipedia has a great many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest for the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals here, you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} below this message box.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
See also Wikipedia:Appealing a block for more information.
