Your username

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Use of "-bot" suffix is restricted to authorized bot accounts unless it arises from natural grammatical processes. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

I hope this is the right way to answer you...

The "Orbot" part of my name is from a 1980's cartoon, "Mighty Orbots". I assure you, I am not a bot of any kind. Just a fan of a great cartoon. If I can, I'd like to keep the current name. It has nothing whatsoever to do with bot accounts.

I have used Wikipedia for information for quite awhile, now, and have only just signed up. MysticOrbot (talk) 12:59, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of horror films: 2005

[edit]

Hi... I saw your edit to List_of_horror_films:_2005 and it looks like you've done a lot of research into the list! I think, though, that your list - with comments, etc - would be better on the article's talk page. I noted that you have several links to pages for the movies. You should feel free to add those to the chart to help improve it. :) Cheers! Wikipelli Talk 16:52, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:36, 25 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
