Image:Des Lacs.jpg
Regarding your comments at Image talk:Des Lacs.jpg, it appears that this image can be used by Wikipedia. To confirm this, the author (Anna Heppler) should send a message from an email address that is obviously associated with her to permissions (at) wikimedia (dot) org. (Note that address is a Wikimedia address, not Wikipedia.) If you could pass this request along to her, it would be much appreciated. Thanks! — Saxifrage ✎ 06:28, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- I talked to her, and it's in the works.... Thanks to you! NDCompuGeek 07:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, NDCompuGeek/archive-2006! I see that you have expressed an interest in being adopted by an experienced editor. I accept your request, being an experienced editor myself. Whether you want to learn about wiki markup, find something to do, or just talk to somebody, I'm the one you can talk to - just leave a message on my talk page. Good luck with Wikipedia!
I look forward to hearing from you - though I expect you dont need any help finding lots of cool userboxes - nice user page. Cheers Lethaniol 19:15, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Questions
Well I am about most nights (GMT 8:00 till 11:00), but the easiest thing is to just add questions to my talk page as you think of them and I will answer ASAP. I am off to bed now as have 1st round assessment for job tomorrow, but I try and be on wikipedia between 8-12 tomorrow and through the day Tuesday (GMT times). Cheers Lethaniol 23:00, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Ah excellent two questions that I can answer. The first, how to make a subpage, is you put User:NDCompuGeek/Subpagename into the search bar, press go, or put http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:NDCompuGeek/Subpagename and just edit it as a new page e.g. see User:Lethaniol/Archive1. If that is not clear see Wikipedia:Subpages.
- For the answer for the second - edit this page and see the hidden text:
- Right am about tonight so any questions or comments just give us a yell, cheers Lethaniol 17:49, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Tip of the day
When you get your subpages sort maybe put this template (see code for the template) on your userpage (or wherever) it is good if you are new to wikipedia for giving ideas Lethaniol 17:54, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Tip of the moment...
Where did that fact come from?
It is important that the information in Wikipedia be true and accurate. To help ensure this, we have the Verifiability Policy, which states that all facts presented on Wikipedia must be verifiable. When writing facts, it is very important that you cite your sources! Stick to a factual style even when writing about fiction or opinions. Providing references is particularly important for controversial opinions—instead of using weasel words like some people believe... you should cite sources to help readers learn who believes what, and why. Keep in mind that the folks at Wikipedia's Reference desk are very knowledgeable across a wide range of subjects, and they may be able to help you track down source references for a particular detail. To add this auto-randomizing template to your user page, use {{totd-random}}

Pics in User boxes
Hi ND,
First you need to upload a picture (I known not how to do this but I think it is easy see: WP:Images Section 4 - on uploading), or search for one in the database (you can just goto the search page and dont forget to click on the the image checkbox). Then once you have the picture you want, insert into a template such as the pharmacy one (see for original template page here) below:
File:Bowl hygeia.jpg | This user is a pharmacist. |
I think this is written in a standard html way so you should have no problems. Have fun cheers Lethaniol 10:39, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Deleting subpages
Sorry am on holiday for a few days so sorry for slow and vrief reply. See Wikipedia:Subpages section 4 where you can use a speedy deletion tag to get the page deleted. No problems keep those questions rolling :):) Lethaniol 08:29, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, peer review, and project-wide collaboration.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- Our requests page has extensive lists of requested articles, images, maps, and translations.
- We've developed a variety of guidelines for article structure and content, template use, categorization, and other issues that you may find useful.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 03:08, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Back from Holiday
Hi ND, just got back from holiday in Torquay, where I grew up - especially good was treking on Dartmoor :):)
Anyway, I see that you have got your userpage nice and tidy now - though you are getting on to be the user with the most userboxes I have ever seen - bravo. I hope my answers/help to your questions has worked out, and do not ever be afraid to ask away some more.
Hope your well, Cheers Lethaniol 17:24, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Well you seem to be doing just fine with the userboxes - you are getting quite expert at them. I know wikipedia can be quite hard to find information in - I still find new things every day - but then half the fun is searching and discovering things that you would not have come across. Cheers Lethaniol 18:03, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A lot in common
NDCompuGeek, I'm intrigued by your user page because we have a lot in common. I am also a programmer, although I think you have me beat on sheer numbers of languages. I am also a Born-Again Baptist, and I too am a SAC veteran of sorts (actually I'm active duty Air Force stationed at USSTRATCOM). I too am married, a father, and definitely a geek. Good to meet you.
