A tag has been placed on Cat on a keyboard in space, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb 18:55, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Patrick Geryl[edit]

An interesting choice! I think you'll get the best ideas for this entry by looking at entries that have been created for other authors identified as contributors to pseudoscience. Basic biographical information is important, as well as a summary of interests, publications, and activities. Any reviews of his work should come from published sources. While his involvement in the 2012 phenomenon is important and the main topic of his website http://howtosurvive2012.com/, Geryl's interests have gone far beyond that to include discussion of Atlantis. Be sure to be aware of Wikipedia's guidelines for writing about individuals. I strongly recommend that you look into books written by Geryl himself as well as critiques of his work. To develop your article for this assignment, please set up a dedicated user subpage for it and save the link on your main userpage. You would do this by creating a name consisting of a backslash followed by the proposed article title (or "Draft" or any text). It should be coded like this: [[/Article title]]. Click on that link to create the new subpage, which will be created at User:Student username/Article title. You can then add some text, save it, and then continue.

With this entry, be mindful of the issue of notability. If Wikipedia adminstrators do not think Patrick Geryl is sigificant, the entry may be deleted once it goes into mainspace. If you want, you can leave the entry linked from your user page until it has been graded, after which you can launch it into mainspace and see if it sticks. Try to construct your entry in such a way that Geryl's notability would be evident. Hoopes (talk) 02:05, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
