Careless Whisper

[edit]

I notice that you tried to edit the Careless Whisper article in order to remove the bananarama info box. Just a help full point - you actually removed the tags from the article body by mistake. I'm sure that you didn't mean to do this. I think that this is why an other user posted a warning to you in the body of the text. - It just looks like a misunderstanding on both your parts. For the record, they should have placed that message on your own talk page. For future reference, its probably best to discuss issues like these on the talk page (link next to the edit tab on the relivant talk page) rather than raising an issue on the administrators notice board.

I hope this is of some help, and reasurance for you - Munta 15:35, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Films Welcome

[edit]
Welcome!
File:Transparent film reel and film.png

Hey, welcome to the Films WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of films and film characters. If you haven't already, please add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your user page.

A few features that you might find helpful:

  • Most of our important discussions about the project itself and its related articles take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.

There is a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Want to jump right into editing? The style guidelines show things you should include.
  • Want to assist in some current backlogs within the project? Visit the Film Tasks template to see how you can help.
  • Want to know how good our articles are? Our assessment department has rated the quality of every film article in Wikipedia. Check it out!
  • Want to collaborate on articles? The Cinema Collaboration of the Week picks an article every week to work on together.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Nehrams2020 21:39, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thanks for your words of support regarding the Prussian WikiProject. If you would like to participate, please join and give us your thoughts on what can be done to improve things. Please note that there is also the parent project Former Countries, which in turn contains a subproject dedicated to the Holy Roman Empire. Any input would be most welcome. - 52 Pickup 17:50, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

cub category

[edit]

An editor has expressed a concern that Category:Cub Wikipedians might be accidentally misused by careless people who confuse Cub and Cub. I think that renaming the category to Category:Bear cub Wikipedians should allay this concern. What are your thoughts on such a renaming? coelacan16:29, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Natthegreat. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Creedbandpic.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Natthegreat. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 23:06, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi

[edit]

Hi there, I'm not so active on Wikipedia anymore - I now direct most of my energy to Wikiversity (I'm Cormaggio there too). I'd like to be able to help (and I also want to have a learning project on Wikipedia about writing high-quality, well-sourced articles), but there are resources on Wikipedia too, and I'm sure there are more experienced people that will be able to help you in this regard. (It's probably a good idea to look at the best content on Wikipedia, known as "featured articles", and see the criteria for what makes one.) I'd say this is the best way to make friends here on Wikipedia - by collaborating on content - and there are several collaborative initatives like Wikiprojects you can join, a good overview for which would be the Community Portal (and for irish-specific stuff, see the Irish Wikipedians' notice board). There are also efforts to help others (eg. Wikipedia:Editor assistance) as well as explicitly community-building initiatives on Wikipedia, but you'd have to ask another currently active Wikipedian to guide you here (and in general, if you ask nicely from a nice person, they will be very willing to help). As for "real world" socialising, Wikimania is great, but you don't have to wait for one to initiate an informal meetup - which can be fun too. Also, the office of the Wikimedia Foundation (the non-profit that runs Wikipedia and its sister projects) is based in St Petersburg, Florida, and I think they are open to people coming in to volunteer their time. Cary Bass (User:Bastique) is the volunteer coordinator - he might be able to help. I hope some of this might be useful - I'll try and stop by more often, and feel free to drop me a message anytime. All the best. :-) Cormaggio is learning 10:08, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey fellow Wikipedian! Your username is listed on the WikiProject Films participants list, but we are unsure as to which editors are still active on the project. If you still consider yourself an active WP:FILM editor, please add your name to the Active Members list. You may also wish to add {{User WikiProject Films}} to your userpage, if you haven't done so already. We also have several task forces that you may be interested in joining as well.

Also, elections for Project Coordinators are currently in sign-up phase. If you would be interested in running, or would like to ask questions of the candidates, please take a look. You can see more information on the positions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Coordinators. Thanks and happy editing!

WP:FILMS Questionnaire

[edit]

As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!
