I see you speedily deleted my article, Wikinvest due to so-called lack of notability. I have read the terms and can easily add links to fulfill this requirement, however I don't really want to have to write the whole article again. Is it possible to restore it so I can then just add in the references? Regards Suicup (talk) 03:36, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A thankyou

Just a note to say thanks for fixing the infobox on Bournda National Park. It was working, then it wasn't working- I was going to take a stab at it again this morning and Voila! it was fixed. Also-happy to meet you-another Southerner. I grew up in Biloxi and the maternal family side are all from New Orleans. Mom would take me on that horse-drawn tourist ride in the old section, and she would do the "talk" to the point the driver just shut up and let her tell the histories. I swear the horse was even rolling his eyes! LOL Again Thankyou Cheers Marcia Wright (talk) 15:44, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Pirates Quest Online Tips

Apologies for the cross edit, Nawlinwiki - I am not sure what happened, I went to Prod the article but when I opened it, it was still there, when I completed my edit, nothing to say it had been deleted and no edit conflict, it had already gone, and you got it again. I am gonna speak to tech since we should get an edit warning. :) regards, Thor Malmjursson (talk) 18:34, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of Re-Directs

I would respectfully argue that the deletion of a number of re-directs, especially the speedy deletion of Not meat, is completely unnecessary. Deleting redirects adds nothing to Wikipedia, unless they are nonsensical or redirect incorrectly, neither of which was done by the Not meat redirect. I hope we can have a non-dismissive discussion about this issue. --MeatJustice (talk) 01:32, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I actually had re-directed, and assumed, that the intention of searching for "not meat" was to find information about meat/criticisms, which is addressed by the Meat page, and not vegetarianism. Seeing as you are the administrator who deleted the re-direct, I thought I would discuss it with you before going through an unnecessary bureaucratic process that would prevent both of us from editing. --MeatJustice (talk) 01:40, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No content in Category:Freedom City

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Freedom City, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Freedom City has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Freedom City, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Article Mathias tsopanoglou

Hi. Would you please take a look at the article Mathias tsopanoglou. I commented on the talk page that i didn't think the subject had sufficient notability, as a google search turned up nothing. my comments were deleted by the page creator. i dunno what the procedure for this sort of thing is. Article generation rx

Hey, sorry to bother you again. Please could you look at the page generation rx. It was initially up for speedy deletion under CSD A1, but the tag was removed by the creator, and my user page was then vandalised by one of the other contributors. The article was then put up for deletion as the creator stated that it was OR, this message was also removed. Thanks for your help! Lithium81 (talk) 01:06, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Gonna leave that one at AFD (where I have voted to delete). Probably better for it to get a definitive community decision. Thanks, NawlinWiki (talk) 04:28, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I placed this on Barneca's page (but s/he seems to be on wikibreak right now), but I believe User:IHeartOscar (who was already blocked for 24 hours due to blatant incivility) is evading block by editing the article Generation rx (as well as removing the AFD template) through 71.232.77.79. I would think that an extension of his block is now warranted. MuZemike (talk) 08:28, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Users

I noticed you blocked user: XJIMINYx from editing. This user:Jangodarkblade5594 is doing the same thing, adding false info, but not so easy to discover, (in the article for ex. Pretzel, claiming that the Hungarian name for pretzel (perec) is twisted bread, which sounds logical, but in fact is not, it is simply a German loanword). Maybe someone should keep an eye on him, or block him as well.

Need action to prevent biased editing

Some users try to report biased ideas said by one person as facts, citing the same source in Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. The source they mention - lankaenews.com - is a biased, one-sided website and what those citations say is purely based on speculation and speeches from opposition politicians. Hello, recently the article for Weymouth (the town in the UK) was moved to Weymouth, Dorset to make way for a disambiguation page at Weymouth. This was done by User:Una Smith without any prior consensus or discussion as far as I'm know. Weymouth is a featured article with many other pages that are linked to it that will now redirect to the disambiguation page. I wasn't sure where to ask, but could this page move be undone? Thanks. Recreation of deleted page

I would like to bring to your attention that this page you deleted has been recreated. Author seams to be determined to prevent deletion of page, but by placing {{hangon}} before it has even been nominated for speedy deletion, and not by addressing concerns you had about the page. U Card Advertising

Hey. Sorry to keep bothering you, but I think my page is beneficial to the Wiki Community. It is a stub on the University of Minnesota Page, and I was under the impression that it could be the campus card for the university and therefore a relevant topic. Also, I took out the parts that appeared to be advertising. Could you take a look at my user page to see if it meets Wiki's standards? Thanks. U Card

I can understand your point that almost every college campus has an ID card, but not every campus has a "U Card." Other colleges have id cards, but they are named something else, like the Buck ID for the Ohio State University. I guess I'm a little confused, because every college has a student union, but Coffman Memorial Union is a stub off of the U of M page, so why can the U Card be a stub too??? There's not that much unique about a student union either, other than it's a part of the U, just as is the U Card. Also stubs of the U of M page that all other colleges have include: Alumni Center, Medical Center, Athletics (now there's a real unique to the U of M category), etc. FYI:The U Card Program was approved by the Regents of the University of Minnesota 1994 as the "Official University of Minnesota Photo ID Card." The U Card is specific to the University of Minnesota and it provides access to good and services only available at the University of Minnesota or services from the state of Minnesota by being a staff or faculty member at the University of Minnesota. Unlike other campus id cards, the U Card is a multi-authentication technology used with a home-grown software program designed by and maintained by the University of Minnesota OIT Department, that no other college campus has because it was designed right here at the U. Every other school, that we know of, uses either BlackBoard or CBoard to run their card production program. Over 400,000 U Cards have been produced since the inception of the program using this software and we card around 30,000 students, staff and faculty annually. Thank you so much for hearing our story. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Linda Golden (talkcontribs) 20:52, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting of The Bicyclist (Web Series)

I was just curious as to the specific reasoning that you deleted The Bicyclist (Web Series). I was putting it up as a TV show, just as Friends and The Office, yet you took it down before I could even add more information to it. The messaged stated this could have been advertising, but it wasn't, it was simply listing a show and it's information. How can I put it back up without it being taken down again? --EditorialJenna (talk) 22:46, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

re: "Friends" and "The Office" are TV shows produced by broadcast networks, and have been acknowledged as notable by reliable independent sources. Anyone can post films to the Internet and call them a "TV series", but that doesn't make them notable. Please see our guidelines at WP:WEB, WP:V, and WP:N. NawlinWiki (talk) 22:47, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

I provided you with two credible sources (before the article was taken down), TV Guide to which they had written about The Bicyclist, as well as The Oregonian, who also wrote several great things about the show. I understand that The Bicyclist is not produced by a broadcast network, but if you know anything about entertainment, Web series/Web TV is what entertainment is all about right now and it's what our future holds. I would like a second chance to put this show up. There are credible sources, so I do not see why it can't go up. The Bicyclist (web series) has also made a huge impact on Portland, OR. They have sponsored billboards called "sharing the road" for cars and bikes. You can also download The Bicyclist on iTunes. I've read the rules, and as long as the article itself is not biast or advertising, with the credibility it should be able to go up. The Bicyclist has also had over 400,000 viewers and the feature film, based off of the web series is up on IMDB. I will re-write the article as a non-bias article about the web series if you let me put it back up. Thank you for your time. --EditorialJenna (talk) 01:38, 22 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ken McKenna?

I'm not seeing why this page was passed over for deletion, even though it's an obvious advertisement and Adreamer323 is very likely Ken McKenna (attorney).
