What I want to say[edit]

Read through most of your discussion page, and it seems you get yelled at a lot. YOu deleted my "Locksport" page, but I wanted to drop by and say thank you. I may have been mad, and was going to post some long argument, etc. Thank you for helping wikipedia and cleaning up articles. People here are not polite at all.

Re: Qlique[edit]

Yeah, about that, I saw something online today, on Facebook actually, claiming that it was Facebook's successor social networking site. I figured it'd become popular soon enough, and that an article, if not necessary now, would soon become needed.

Sommer Ross not notable?[edit]

Sure, she's not as notable as the President of the United States, but she's pretty notable among our family here in Gainesville. I don't think there are any "sources" to cite, but I thought I did a pretty good job explaining who she was and the work she's done. I don't understand why it was deleted...

That's lame, man. One of the ways we can get exposure to the work of people like Ross, since it isn't covered in the "mainstream" press, is through projects like Wikipedia. Kind of an odd catch-22 when you have to ALREADY have exposure to GET exposure. She's quite notable enough to be on here.

But Ross has had things published about her, just nothing I can point to on the web. It's mostly in alternative media sources, local papers, etc. If you ask any random person in the radical left community in and around Gainesville, they'd immediately know Ross and her work. I can't "prove" any of this, but it's a shame that Ross can't get further, web-based exposure because of some pedantic, hyper-enforcement of some rule on an online encyclopedia.

Why did you delete the Sp-un-Ka?[edit]

I made a article refering to the Sp-Un-Ka tribe of Stains,Reading on the 23rd of November 2006. It portrayed a group of people that live in a way, that may seem differant to you. I think that it showed people that, even if others live differantely, they should be respected and encorouged. The deletion of the article is an uttermost disgrace as it had great anthropological meaning, portaying a fair and objective view of the world - these people in particualr. I am new to wikipedia and don't know all the details on how it works but i'd like you to re-think about your speedy deletion decision, Thank you, Daniel Rutter, Chris White, Michael Scarborough, Neal Monk, Matt King and Will Eldon (Sp-Un-Ka)

H.A.T.S Deleted?[edit]

I'm very perturbed to find that after, being given 5 minutes approximately to amend the offending article, and after having done so, find you have deleted the article anyway! The before mentioned article had by then defined a sense of purpose, which was the given reason for quick deletion! The message given after the deletion included the mentioning of 'why the article is notable', this raises an cadre of questions! Notable to whom? To myself and fellow villagers of Walkern, that article may be very notable! I find my self very disappointed in the Wikipedia Administration after this incident. Please reply A.S.A.P

National Penis day deleted?[edit]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to National penis day. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. NawlinWiki 20:59, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete The National Penis Day article? It is an actual New Zealand holiday! Do some research before you go around deleting articles and accusing people of vandalism. seriously. (this unsigned comment was posted by User: Nick_Scratch )
If you have reliable sources showing the existence of this holiday (see Wikipedia:Verifiability), have at it. Otherwise, please don't waste everyone's time. NawlinWiki 21:14, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not accuse new people who are trying to help of adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to National penis day. It is considered a violation of WP:AGF. If you would like to verify suspect articles, use the Google to confirm if your suspicion is correct, and then if it turns out you were wrong, improve the article. Thank you. --John Kenneth Fisher 21:24, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
WP:AGF does not mean Wikipedia:Check your brain at the door. If someone creates an article with a title as stupid as National penis day, I'd say it's up to them to provide at least one source. See Wikipedia:Verifiability. NawlinWiki 21:25, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly? I don't disagree - he should have. But "nonsense" is a pretty loaded term to use and stick someone with when a two second Google search will show that, good article or no, it was clearly NOT a nonsensical one by any definition. You owe Nick_Scratch an apology. --John Kenneth Fisher 21:31, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hate to say, but I looked National Penis Day up on Google and it's definitely real. WmCliff 19:53, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is. And as far as I know, Nick_Scratch is still waiting for his well-deserved apology. --John Kenneth Fisher 14:48, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Did Nick_Scratch ever get his apology? Seems its the adult thing to do to admit when one is wrong when they jump to conclusions and declare someone guilty of "vandalism," "adding nonsense," "wasting everyone's time," instead of, you know, 4 seconds of due diligence. The right thing to do is to apologize to Nick_Sctatch on the same user page you insulted him on. It isn't always this easy to do the right thing, so why not try it? You might even like it. --John Kenneth Fisher 06:33, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Atlas Strategic, Please[edit]

Can you please not delete the Atlas Strategic page and the pages having to do with the band. I decided to make the wikipedia page because it is a great band but there isn't anything on the internet about them. I've been working for a few weeks compiling info about the band from emails and little bits you can find on other web sites. Please don't delete the Atlas Strategic, Rapture, Ye Minions!, or That's Familiar! pages, deleting the song pages would be fine though.

thanks mike

The reason for having the fact that 500 copies were made is to clear up the fact because in one place it says that it was pressed many times which isn't true. Thats just to clear it up. I'm not trying to promote the band. This was a significant band that Isaac Brock supported similar to the way he supports/supported Wolf Parade. He was close to signing Atlas Strategic to Subpop but they fell apart before that could happen. It is a significant band that had a short life, and isn't the point of this encyclopedia to let people add on to articles thus letting many people compile a more accurate and larger body of info than one person about a topic?

mike

my direct source is mainly the owner of the record label that atlas strategic is on. would it be smart to include this if i were to put an article up for the band?

mike

once again, my source is mainly the label, global symphonic, not from their website but from emailing the owner of the label. also i had the other sources that helped a little in the links. plus, if you let the page stay i know people who will add to it using the power of wikis to their full extent instead of working on a page to have it deleted.

how about i repost what i had and you give it 2 days to have stuff added on to it and if it doesnt satisfy you then go delete it?

The Proportional Pirate Law[edit]

Avis Car Sales[edit]

I realize that a quick decision about this site would redirect to the Avis main page. But we are a licensee of Avis who sells cars. We sell cars with a growing number of local Avis licensees (see websites listed). Avis DOES NOT sell their cars. Avis doesn't even have a link on their website to redirect interest for used Avis cars or trucks. Please replace the information. Thank you. Michael

George Hartnagle[edit]

Am i gonna have to contact the local newspaper to prove this mans great exsistance? I know when i've been beaten, but you have to admit it was a gooden.

WHY DID YOU DELETE MY GROWLINGDOG PRODUCTIONS[edit]

You didn't really tell me why in the message.

why?[edit]

Why did you delete my article of The Don Randalls? they're a popular group where i live

I don't know why you removed my article about the ice cream store where a movie was filmed. It's not spam. I think your entries like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo are Way SPAM : those are just giant company promotions - how can you promote Huge chains & then say some interesting city trivia about a local shop, ON that City's page Is "SPAM"?? Diffraction 17:33, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand how to do what you said: hand on's & templates & requests -

The ice cream shop had a Tim Allen MOVIE filmed there - and that film was Joe Somebody - I can add the address I didn't know that was needed to make it 'not spam'

Deletion[edit]

Hi. I noticed that you removed my article about Clearogen and Revivogen, who is a reputable company that should be listed along the likes of Clearasil and others for acne.

I read the article for Clearasil and ours is less about advertising than theirs. What gives, and why did this article get deleted? It only contained facts about a Dermatologist and his comapany. There was no advertising in the article, only facts.

Please explain the cause of the deletion, and how these reputable companies get listed. Surely companies do not need to be Fortune 500 to be listed as brand name, and both of the company articles I wrote are brand name selling in shops around the world.

Speedies[edit]

Hi. I noticed that there's a backlog on speedy deletions. How does an ordinary Joe like me bring this to admins' attention... is there an appropriate noticeboard to post on? --Dweller 15:06, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heavy Handed Delete?[edit]

You deleted one of my articles with the explanation "This article was deleted because it did not appear to meet the notability standards of WP:MUSIC and had no verifiable sources. NawlinWiki 21:26, 24 October 2006 (UTC)". Did you even look at the talk page? I cited my sources. Just because something is not on the net, doesnt mean that its not so. Wikipedia shoud be more than just plagarism from elsewhere IMO.Splurtronics 16:34, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You also deleted my post on Gibbons of the Pink Pepper, even though they represent the local scene as it were. I thought Wikipedia was supposed to be encyclopaedic, but it appears that you only host information that you choose to. If I wanted local information regarding New Orleans I would ask a local such as yourself. Mussfeydratos 14:11, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be on RC patrol, so would you mind having a look at the above? It looks speedy to me, but the tag won't stick. Thanks for your help. --TheOtherBob 18:02, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but I don't think I ever "approved" this article in any way (not that it would require my approval in any event, of course). I'm not really sure what he's referring to, but if I did say something that sounded like I approved of this article, I did not mean to. Thanks. --TheOtherBob 18:43, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In looking at this again, I noticed that my quote marks around "approved" may have looked like a comment on Utzchips's spelling - which wasn't my intent. (I put it in quotes because I can't "approve" anything.) I don't see that any offense was taken - but I apologize if there was. --TheOtherBob 20:15, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I will do so. I am new at wikipedia, still getting the hang of it. I keep getting the damn article pulled on before I can finish it lol.

Automated Chinchilla Mangle[edit]

well cant blame a guy for trying, thanks anyway, hopefully when the band does go more major then I will be able to put up an article but till then i'll just leave things the way they are.

-Omaster

I just reverted all the recent edits to it, which is kind of drastic - it really needs something half way in between, but the user was spamming us with NN-bios and also put them in there. I have to go right now, could you take a look, since the user keeps messing up her talk page with merge tags, and she is aa trifle upset. --ArmadilloFromHell 22:05, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Castle Hills First Baptist Church[edit]

I went to contest the speedy deletion of my entry on Castle Hills First Baptist Church and found it already deleted. I was wondering if there is any way to recover any of the work I had done thus far. The church is a major staple of Castle Hills, TX, a suburb of San Antonio, TX. It has existed for over 50 years and has had major impact in the local community of Castle Hills. Please contact my talk space as soon as you can. MattFBC 11:47 2 November 2006

CHFBC has notability and controversy surrounding its size. Specifically, it has been deadlocekd with the city of Castle Hills over its expansion; This controversy between the city and the church has been covered by a third party source. You can verify this at http://www.becketfund.org/index.php/case/42.html?PHPSESSID=73252e44c34db96ff987ba08add32832 and http://www.becketfund.org/index.php/article/108.html. In terms of the church's local scope, I can verify that through San Antonio's local NBC affiliate WOAI and through documents provided by the church (ie magazines, newsletters and websites from the church). I mention all of this in hopes that the work I had done thus far could be recovered in some way. I would appreciate it greatly if any of my contributions fall under the guidelines of speedy deletion that I get a chance to properly contest the speedy deletion and retain the work I had completed before it is permanently removed. The only time I'm free to edit and contribute to wikipedia is usually during my lunch break at work, so it takes me longer to complete articles than other, more seasoned wikis. Immediate deletion of 4-Sight Fax[edit]

You deleted my article 4-Sight Fax within a few minutes of it being created, on the grounds that it was advertising. If you had really read the article, you would have seen that it was not promoting the product in question, merely describing it. It is a significant piece of software, and deserves an article here. If you had bothered to check my edit history, you would also have discovered that I have a wide-ranging interest in fax software, and have created and improved several articles on the subject, of which that was just the latest. I have no commercial connection with the subject of the article.

Luckily, I still have the material still sitting in my text editor, so I am going to restore the article. Please do not delete it again without prior discussion.

Why was my article removed?[edit]

Hello.

I have looked over a lot of wiki documents then added an article for a company. The article listed about the company, no products were mentioned but yet this article was deleted. Why is this? Article was "Webzo"

Thanks, Webzo.

response to your response about ARM TV =[edit]

What originally got me to add my information was because I saw bios of celebrities building them up regarding their achievments and such...if this isn't VANITY then I don't know what is.

I have read stuff on Wikipedia and I think that their is some definite contradiction to your statements page. And that sponsorship came from notoriety that he received from ESPN...something that wouldn't have happened without us.

Now that...being said. I won't pretend to know the ways around Wikedia so I would like a little help to establish a page that you would find suitable. Whether you appreciate the sport of armwrestling or not....it is a fact that this is a growing sport and I personally have had a great deal to do with that fact. If it were to explode on television which we are trying to do...I would be a key person involved in the future of this sport.

so after seeing some of the other categories that are found in this site...I feel pretty confident knowing that my company has a place here. You have kept a link to it on the armwrestling page. Why is that? You will see it as armwrestling.tv

the following names all relate to the same group of sites that we run.

armwrestling.com armwrestlingtv.com armwrestling.tv armtvnation.com rulerofthenation.com myarmtv.com armtvboard.com

I am sorry but if ideepthroat.com has a page on this site then there is definitely wrong with deleting my legitimate company. I did a search for a the topic of porn to see if there was any WEBSITES related to the subject with pages on this site. I picked the worst topic I could to justify my side...and after reading some of that info...I feel quite vindicated.

PS I am at this moment...Manchester England filming a World Championships...45 countries...over 900 athletes...over 1400 entries from around the world...any the company that is promoting this event is deleted from your website while porn is not.

Have a great day.

Hi there, I noticed you put up a last warning to user 216.226.127.120 today because of vandalism (The IP is assigned to a school district, so big surprise there). I have to rv the Pittsford Mendon High School very regularly for vandalism from this user. Please block them from editing! Many thanks! Arwcheek 16:23, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

g11 speedy AFTER Afd[edit]

This has taken me a serious amount of time to sort out (because of redirects and page moves), but you g11'ed Contiki Holidays, which surved Afd, presumably before being moved [Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Contiki Tours].--Limegreen 21:18, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cheers for the speedy response! That was particularly convoluted. It took me about 20 minutes to find the Afd (if I hadn't known it was there I don't think I could have found it). I think the problem is that Contiki Tours is notable historically, but someone is trying to promote the current 'Contiki Holidays' format in a spammy fashion. I'll try and keep an eye on it. Thanks again. --Limegreen 21:48, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notability is relative[edit]

I am new to wikipedia so you might need to explain it to me, more than just point me to the notability page.

Somehow I am lost with what defines notability among the wikipedia powers-that-be? It must be somewhere between US District judges and Wampus Cats, otherwise it's deleted right away. Is that accurate?

Of course, I'm being just a bit sarcastic. But, really...what may be notable for one person might not for others. And if we're supposed to be deciding based on consensus, doesn't that mean others should also air their take on the matter of notability or not? user:koolkideco

Another peek at Locksport?[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if you'd be willing to take another glance at the discussion page [[1]] (still getting the hang of the wiki, but trying to learn!) for Locksport, which you had marked for deletion. I think the conversation has been genuinely interesting. I'll be curious to see how it ends up, but I would be interested in your current opinion on the matter. I believe there is definately more to be added to the article in general, but I'm hoping people may be starting to see a reason for it's existence.

Either way, thanks for taking the time to read this. :) Be well! SchuylerTowne 07:37, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Speedy Speedy[edit]

I am concerned with the recent Wikipedia trend in speedy delete. I'm not really arguing that some of these articles shouldn't have been deleted, but this speedy trend has to stop. I have many articles in my watch list that have been deleted so speedily I never knew about it. Because once they're gone I get no notices. I wouldn't mind input on these deletions. I have read the "What wikipedia is and is not, and also the criteria for speedy deleting. I do think many of the articles ultimately may need to be deleted, however these articles recently became part of a wiki project I think it is completely unfair for them to be indiscriminately deleted this way. The very fact they are in a project that just started should tell you this. I wish you would consider this before going ahead and speedy deleting anything that has a speedy delete nomination.Anonym1ty 21:23, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About Punk God[edit]

The article of the 'Punk God' has been deleted, but I have something to contest.

As a musical band, the 'Punk God' is the same famous as 'MC_HotDog'. So,if 'MC_HotDog' is notable enough, then the 'Punk God' may be also notable enough.

I am sorry that I saved the article of 'Punk God' without finishing it (that may be why you misunderstood). And I will not do so again.

May I create the article of 'Punk God' again?

How is adding post about a mountain plant vandalims?

So if I provide you with book it comes from, all is better?

I didn't think you were allowed to be rude and assume people are trying to be bad. I don't intend to make up any book, I'm pretty sure there is one at the library to back up my article.

WTF????[edit]

I stoped recreating "Mike Teel" after i read your message and i agreed with you, but why the f*** did u delete "GMC (NJ-FOOTBALL)" i worked on updating that page for all the student-athletes for over 3 MONTHS, THREE MONTHS. and you want to piss it all away in 2 seconds, why? and is it reversable

Would you tell me what's up with this page (and others like it)? There's no obvious reason to have an article by this name, so I'm not astonished that you deleted it. But how did it get on my watchlist? I'm sure I didn't put it there. This is not the first time I've seen deleted pages pop up on my watchlist like this.

I have to suspect that somebody moved a page that I'd watched to a BS name, perhaps vandalizing the content as well. Then you deleted it. I wonder if this is the case and, if so, if you restored the good content to its original name. Then I'd like to see if the original page is still on my watchlist.

This is a technical issue more than anything else; please don't think I'm saying you're doing anything out of the ordinary. I'd just like to figure out exactly what's going on. Thank you. John Reid ° 07:59, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Some vandal moved User talk:Tony Sidaway to Bullshitnow. I moved it back and deleted the Bullshitnow page. Hope this helps, NawlinWiki 13:01, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well that's what I thought. The original page is still on my watchlist and so is a redlink to the move. I can't quite figure out why, though. Anyway, not a problem for you to solve. I just wanted the original name so I could check. Thanks. John Reid ° 18:24, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why[edit]

why did you delete my page, and why was I not notified of its deletion?

Croglin[edit]

I noticed you deleted an article on Croglin cheese. This deletion shows your naivete about cheeses in general and British cheeses in particular. I presume you will also be deleting Camembert, Brie and Stilton (only 6 companies are licensed to produce it) as they are all cheeses produced by the locals of particular regions in their country. You will also need to delete Champagne, as it reflects a drink only produced by a few producers in the champagne region of France.

Secondly, this article on Croglin was produced by me on the basis of a link from a page dedicated to cheeses, i.e. not originated by me - but appearing on 'British cheeses'. Finally, taking out the name of the company who produces the cheese was all that was necesaary - edit not delete. If this is your criteria then please delete IBM, Esso and Microsoft..... I think you should be a little less heavy handed with your deleting capability - as other have also suggested above.

Please be so kind as to put the article back up again and I will edit by leaving out the company name. (Beano9763 11 Nov'06 20:10 GMT)

.... and my comments above about IBM, Esso and Microsoft? I have read their articles and they couldn't be more about advertising each company. Why doesn't that conflict with the policy of not advertising. By the way, I have nothing to do with Croglin. I just independently researched the cheese and put up an article which links from British Cheeses. You currently have the upperhand in that I do not now have access to the original article to refer and determine whether your comments are in fact justifiable. However, one thing I would say, is that both Champagne and Stilton were originally produced by one producer and then that 'brand' was taken up by others. I am sure that if Croglin is as good as it is suggested, the production by other dairies is inevitable. What happens then to the article? Finally, and in the vein of your refutation of the article on Croglin, what about Chevington (one producer), Stinking Bishop (one producer), Ilchester Cheese Company (not a cheese at all) and lastly, Coleraine cheddar (one producer). Tell me that these aren't brands, then I'm a Dutchman. Beano9763 15 Nov'06 18:05 GMT

I would like to add that they seem to delete a lot of things that they deem to be advertising but leave in the big companys blatant advertising......... maybe they receive donations from them.

I have just had my submission removed as advertising yet there is a full category dedicated to and full of articles exactly the same as mine.............. maybe they receive donations from them???

Can someone from wikipedia please explain the blatant double standards?

Also note that material about the administration of the ACE curriculum in schools should be included in a new article at School of Tomorrow, not in the Accelerated Christian Education article.

What the hell are you talking about the mihd? I wasn't even done with the article, why did you erase it? Because you think it's so cool to be part of the "anti vandalism" team? Well guess what, so am I; because I really hate spam. I'm writing about this place because I hear a lot of my friends talking about. We have a file sharing community and we talk a lot about this kind of services. Besides, why in hell would it be considered what you said it be? That was in a section called "comparison" didn't you read or what?

If you're trying to make a good image of yourself like this I think you're going to have a lot of problems later. This is a users-built community; watch out what you do; this kind of behavior is what tears apart the communities. We're here to share what we think is valuable and needed information.

Hi -

Just to let you know that I noticed earlier today that you deleted Howstat on 28 October as a WP:CSD A7, after it was tagged for speedy deletion by Tony fanta with the comment "fails wp:web, alexa of 366,204".

As far as I am aware, Alexa is not the sole judge of whether a website is notable (I don't see it mentioned in WP:WEB), and Howstat is one of the three most important sites of cricket statistics on the internet, along with Cricinfo and CricketArchive. I have undeleted the article, but I guess it could go via WP:AFD or WP:DRV if you insist. There is also some relevant discussion at WT:CRIC. -- ALoan (Talk) 20:43, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Versaframe speedy deletion?[edit]

You deleted my Versaframe article as "clearly written to promote a company, product, or service". This is confusing to me. Wikipedia contains entries for products such as Coca-Cola Black Cherry Vanilla and Creative MuVo MP3 players. My Versaframe entry did not include any promotional wording. It was strictly a vanilla description of a popular frame system. In contrast, the Black Cherry Vanilla Coke entry includes the following clearly promotional text - "innovative fusion of real cola, luscious black cherry, and smooth vanilla flavors [which] creates a taste that is complex and delicious"

What differentiates promotional entries for the Coke and Creative products from a non-promotional entry for VersaFrame? Please advise. Thanks!

Why Did You Delete The ACO Page[edit]

This page is not vandalism. I am simply writing about a new group in my area. I written it in an unbiased way so that it was not actually offensive to chavs. If you are going to delete this article then ,logically, you should go about deleting other articles for being about about certain groups that offend other groups e.g. The KKK. I therefore see that there is no reason for calling my article innapropriate and deleting it.

McNaughton Baptist

Hello, You deleted the article on 'McNaughton Baptist Church' and asked why I thought this particular church was noteworthy. I believe McNaughton Baptist Church is noteworthy in that they called and ordained a female pastor in a denomination filled with churches both nationally and internationally known for their efforts to keep women out of the pastorate and pulpit. Grammar[edit]

If you use an open parenthesis, you should always close it, and when following a quoted phrase with a punctuation mark, the punctuation goes before the closing quotation mark. Also, it seems like you used a semicolon instead of a comma because used a comma in the last clause. That's a good instinct, but it really should have been another comma after a closing parenthesis (parenthetical clauses should only influence that sort of a decision when they're delineated by commas). I also wonder about the use of a "because (1) x, (2) y" structure where a "because x and y" might have achieved the same ends with a bit more immediate clarity. I'd say that they're important things for an enthusiastic Wikipedia editor to think about, anyways.

Racist Vandalism of Black & African articles[edit]

Hey there, NawlinWiki, I've been reading thru your talk page, after finding that you had gotten there ahead of me and left a friendly warning for User talk:Bigproof4ever -- and seeing as you are an admin & evidently very active in dealing with vandalism, I have a question for you:

I have edited & watchlisted more than a few articles dealing with Black history and other Africa-related subjects, and the amount of recurring, really nasty racist vandalism on pretty much all such pages, by -- of course -- anonymous editors, is just appalling. Is there any sort of protection that can be given to these pages, so we don't have to waste so much time spotting & reverting all of the vandalism? Also, what is the best way to get repeat-offender, anonymous vandals blocked? Cgingold 17:02, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, that was fast! :)
Okay, here's a bunch of articles you can get started on:
I strongly suspect that you will find this sort of recurring racist vandalism on pretty much every Africa-related article. :(
I will also try to keep track of the IP#s for those repeat offenders -- do you also need the specific articles they've vandalized, or can you proceed with the IP#s alone?
Cgingold 17:31, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again -- I realize that the usual sort of situation where articles get protected is when there's an onslaught of vandalism happening in rapid succession, but the articles I'm concerned about are getting vandalized by anonymous racists pretty much every day on a continuing basis. It's a different sort of situation, and one that I think WP needs to take very seriously on its own terms. Do you know if this particular issue is something that admins are aware of, and if so, has it been discussed? And if not, where would you suggest I take this for wider discussion? Thanks again. Cgingold 01:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi their, a fellow Iraqi user brought this issue to my attention. I dont know why it was deleted, but if you need to know how sufficent the term is, well its really important in the Iraqi soceity, and in the greater middle east as well. You see the term throughout media on daily bases. The term is actually in the wikidictionary. The word gets [[4]] 37,000 hits, so I think its important enough for it to get a page to talk about this group of people, just like how their is Al-Qaida in Iraq page. We were in the process of providing genuine information about the company, our "virtual computer" architecture etc. All our competitors have wikipedia pages (youos.com, eyeos.com etc.). Please unblock this. Thanks, Zvi Zvis 11:49, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recent block of User:209.158.166.135[edit]

I'm usually one that's all for blocking vandals, and blocking them as quickly as possible, but looking over the Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism page this morning, I see an IP user who received a first and only warning after making 3 vandalism edits. This user was then reported on WP:AIV before they made any additional edits, and was banned after blanking their talk page, which may be frowned upon, but it was my impression that it isn't really vandalism. I like seeing vandals banned quickly, but is that right...especially for an IP account? --Onorem 16:56, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

After looking at another user that WTGDMan1986 reported this morning, it appears that they like to report users on WP:AIV as soon as they get their first and final warning. Doesn't even bother waiting for the next bad edit... --Onorem 17:02, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, I went to put Britanny gerthing up as a page for speedy deletion, and by the time I found the templates... you'd already deleted it! Wow! Scoutersig 16:33, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you an administrator?[edit]

Movieman02 has created several pages that are not welcome. On his talk page, you told him to use the sandbox, but he is still vandalizing. I am not an administrator, so I cannot block Movieman02, and I ask you to if you are an administartor. You can leave me a message at User_talk:WmCliff.

Thanks. WmCliff 01:24, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You[edit]

Thank you for doing something I am unable to do. WmCliff 01:28, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
The speedy deletion backlog can get horrendous, until admins like NawlinWiki get the shovel out and make it feel worthwhile for us non-admins to tag stuff, by digging in and getting rid of cruft that's stood around for hours. Thanks, mate. Have a barnstar! Tonywalton  | Talk 01:41, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You keep beating me to deleting articles![edit]

Gangsta Pirates[edit]

Okay. Well, I wasn't completely finished. You want I should just write it down here before I try and recreate it again, so there isn't any more confusion?

Alright, whatever you say. IDK, Bainbridge residents would have found that interesting.

And its not just Kenston Students. We know there are cells, or whatever term you want to use, at Wittenberg University, in Springfield Ohio, UNC, Olin in Boston, Ohio University, and Mount Union in Ohio. I know I didn't have that stuff in there yet though.

The Gangsta Pirates 2[edit]

Alright, whatever you say. IDK, Bainbridge residents would have found that interesting.

And its not just Kenston Students. We know there are cells, or whatever term you want to use, at Wittenberg University, in Springfield Ohio, UNC, Olin in Boston, Ohio University, and Mount Union in Ohio. I know I didn't have that stuff in there yet though. Problem is, I don't know any official sources, except maybe some tiny bainbridge paper. Or the Giant Eagle parking lot...

Well, once I do get all the info in order and sources straighted out, when am I allowed to try again?

If you look at their pages, their information is just like the info we submitted. We are just trying to be informational. Please go to our website if you would like more info. Below id the test we submitted, it should be no different from the other pages submitted by the same types of businesses.

Disco Tech[edit]

Could you please review your deletion of the article Disco Tech?

I believe that the page was deleted in error. This page was not a re-post, but a complete change. The article explains the team Disco Tech, the culmination of over 50 years of frisbee tradition in the Upper Peninsula. This is a herritage which is important to the international guts and frisbee community. The article is very good reference material when studying and researching the history of guts frisbee in the Upper Peninsula. A few more links are needed, but this shouldn't constitute a deletion, rather help from other frisbee wiki users!

Thanks in advance for the review, eh!

How about a perma-redirect from Wikipedia Game to Wikipedia:Six degrees of Wikipedia? That might save countless recreations of the page. - Tiswas(t/c) 17:05, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion & Protection: Pointlessweb[edit]

Dude! WHy did you delete Pointlessweb? I added the hangon tag, but you still deleted it. I was not yet done updating it. This really makes me mad!

Your deletion of Vek'nilash[edit]

I believe the article does not merit a deletion at all. but I'll put the warcraft tag on their forum and see what comes out the other side

Vek'nilash on deletion review[edit]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Vek'nilash. Since you closed the deletion discussion for (or speedy-deleted) this article, your reasons on how or why you did so will be greatly appreciated in the above review. Australian Matt 09:24, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete my Practice Edit Page[edit]

It was there to help people with edits. Is there already an existing page for that? If so I did not know about it and created the page only for that reason. If there is not a similar page, I would like to request to make it again so that people can edit wikipedia with more ease.--The Showster 15:36, 1 December 2006 (UTC)the Showster[reply]

Finish the job[edit]

This was only half of my request. The actual page needs deleted as well, but I could not put a tag on it. Thanks. --198.185.18.207 18:32, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reevaluation[edit]

I have discussed this topic in length with another moderator (all of which occured through my and his talk page, you can see it all there) and he finally reinstated my page so i could make all the necessary changes, however you deleted it like 2 minutes later, and did not give me a chance to finish my complete edit. Please reconsider this deletion, as i have already had to make my case numerous times to another moderator, and I finally suceeded (full reasoning on his talk page).

Thank you for your time.

reevaluation 2[edit]

Will you please at least give me a chance to add all the new information i found, as well as take out the old irrelevant stuff (like bison) which i was in the process of doing.

All I am requesting is that you let me show you the new stuff and then reevaluate.

Edit: This is my first wikipedia article, and there was several policies I was not aware of, which cordestat has informed me of, and now i know. This is why the initial article was marked for deletion, but now that i know i was trying to fix it.

Ahardy 02:48, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was actually going to send the article to AFD. --Coredesat 02:51, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Off Topic[edit]

I guess this didnt post the first time, because I didnt see it in the History. If not, it shouldnt be ignored. You deleted Off Topic with Matt and Dave on the basis of a7, a un-notable podcast. I'm willing to bet that the category pages of Audio podcasts and Video podcasts have almost, if not over 100 podcasts that have wikis. Of them, I'd rank off Topic in the middle ground of notable ones. I suggest you revert this, or else you have alot of deleting to do, and a lot of complaints to recieve.Ganfon 03:15, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lee Quinn[edit]

I have redone the page rather extensively, hopefully you will approve of the new page... The link is on my talk page (the new page is where you put it on my userpage).

Thank you for the oppurtunity for a reconsideration.
