Gerontology
[edit]Hi - it looks like your edits to gerontology were reverted by Zefr, who argued that they were speculative. I think that the best thing to do in this situation is to discuss the edits with Zefr, as the edits should not be re-added without discussion. I think that the main reason for their concern was most likely that the content was unreferenced - all content needs to be referenced on Wikipedia or it can be challenged and removed. Some articles, like gerontology, are more closely watched by other editors because they tend to be more frequently edited and are sometimes even controversial. The best thing to do with these articles is to make sure that when you add content that you include good sourcing.
I've tagged Zefr, so they may respond here. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:22, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oh! Something I forgot to mention - when listing sourcing, make sure that you include the full information about the source (author, title, etc). The links you posted to the talk page require a sign-in, so most won't be able to access them. Listing the source info makes it easier for others to verify the sourcing. - This edit did not have high-quality secondary sources and presents two theories which are speculation, i.e., unencyclopedic. Gerontology is a medical topic which requires a high standard for sourcing explained in WP:MEDRS. --Zefr (talk) 15:40, 1 March 2018 (UTC)
- I wanted to let you know about this training module, which goes over writing on medicine related topics. I also noticed that you re-added the content to the article without sourcing. Please do not do this, as this content has already been removed once for not having any sourcing. Re-adding it without the sourcing and talking things over with Zefr can actually have some fairly negative repercussions, like you getting temporarily blocked from editing. All content must be sourced with reliable sources and re-adding content that has already been removed from the article without fixing the issues that got it removed can be seen as disruptive, especially with articles like this one where they're closely monitored and even a little controversial. - Hi! I saw that one of your edits was recently reverted - at this stage, since the content was removed again, the only true thing you can do is discuss the removal on the article talk page. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:58, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Gerontology, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Zefr (talk) 05:29, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
