Good additions to the article. A couple of suggestions here.

The introductory paragraph you rewrote is more accurate than the previous version. But from the general public perspective, the previous version may be more easier to follow since the wording was more introductory. It would be great if you could modify the language to make it easier for general audience to follow. Meanwhile, the second and third paragraph of the introduction section could be developed into a separate section to discuss the binding process so that the introduction could be kept simple and short.

The image associated with the first section could be enlarged and centered to be clearer. Again, if the binding mechanism can be a separate section, you can avoid the problem of this image floating above the table of content. Also, you uploaded the file to Wikipedia directly instead of uploading it to Wikimedia Commons. Please move it to Wikimedia Commons before you post it. See the video tutorial here for how to do that. I assume that you made the image yourself. If so, you may want to change the format to .png instead of .gif since it's better for web display. If the image is taken from others' articles, you may violate copyright and please re-draw the image yourself or delete the image. For more image formatting tips, see Wikipedia:Extended image syntax.
