French field army articles[edit]

Hi there! I was wondering what your opinion of moving the articles about French field armies to their English equivalents (i.e. Armée du Danube --> Army of the Danube) per WP:English is. – PranksterTurtle (talk) 23:02, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds a good idea, though we'll need to flag up where the name is that of a modern country, to avoid confusion with modern national armies (I'm thinking Army of Italy - which then disambiguates to Army of Italy (France)). Neddyseagoon - talk 12:00, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Johann von Beaulieu[edit]

Johann von Beaulieu is the second article where you created a duplicate of an article that was already written by me (this time my article was only 2-3 weeks older). See Johann Peter Beaulieu. The first article was Claude Legrand, recently merged with your Claude Juste Alexandre Legrand article. Regrettably, I didn't point my Beaulieu article to the Austrian generals category, which might have alerted you to its existence. But you will note that my article does point to Austrian soldiers and Military leaders of the French Revolutionary Wars categories. It's also linked to a number of articles on the 1792-1796 period (e.g., Battle of Jemappes). I'm trying to fill in the many gaps in the 1792-1815 era. When I write an article about a French general I try to consult French Wikipedia and glean whatever data my rusty French will allow. I appreciate your work also and understand you didn't duplicate the article on purpose. Hopefully in the future we can keep out of each other's way by doing careful searches before we create new articles. I will do my part by using the full name from the French wikipedia page whenever possible. But I cannot do that if the subject is not French, as Beaulieu was from the Austrian Netherlands. Thank you. Thank you for your understanding. Any that are likely to have similar duplication issues I'll flag up here before creating, if I can't find an existing English article for them, and let me know if you need help translating any French articles on such figures. WikiProject Christianity Newsletter - April 2009[edit]

I notice that this category you created is unpopulated (empty). In other words, no Wikipedia pages belong to it. If it remains unpopulated for four days, it may be deleted without discussion, in accordance with Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#C1. I'm notifying you in case you wish to (re-)populate it by adding [[Category:WikiProject Sculpture categories]] to pages that belong in it.

I tagged the category. This will not, in itself, cause the category to be deleted. It serves to document (in the page history) that the category was empty at the time of tagging and also to alert other watchers that the category is in jeopardy. You are welcome to remove the tag if you wish. However, removing the tag will not prevent deletion of the category if it remains empty.

If you created the category in error, or it is no longer needed, you can speed up the deletion process by tagging it with {{db-author}}.

I am a human being, not a bot, so you can contact me if you have questions about this. Best regards, --Stepheng3 (talk) 04:07, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Neddy![edit]

I just looked at my watchlist and, there you are, buzzing around everywhere I go! So I took a look at your user page and found a zillion boxes! Wow! There has got to be 6 points of connection with every other wiki-editor, not counting wiki, of course! Amandajm (talk) 16:03, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your image of Caesar and Pompey in violation of copyright[edit]

File:Caesar and Pompey.JPG

I have not tagged the image yet, but will be asking for speedy deletion. The Pompey image seems fine but the caesar image was taken from an image that was disputed for no lisence and deleted. I wanted to give you a heads up that you image must be altered with a different likeness of Caesar.--Amadscientist (talk) 23:26, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Domenico Cunego[edit]

A tag has been placed on Domenico Cunego requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
