Twinkle[edit]

Hi!

Please read WP:TWINKLEABUSE before continuing to use Twinkle. Reverting non-vandalism edits using Twinkle, and without leaving an additional edit summary, is not considered acceptable use of the tool. Besides, what the heck were you even trying to do there, anyway?

@RadioactiveBoulevardier Yes, my sincere apologies for that! I'm new here and didn't realize what that [vandalism] tag was. I didn't even realize it was Twinkle that was adding that button. I didn't learn until it was too late what it actually did. I thought for certain that I had accidentally reverted a non-vandalism edit but I couldn't figure out exactly which ones they were because I didn't realize my terrible misunderstanding until later in the day, at which point I disabled Twinkle until I understood it better.

My thought process--as much as there was any thought behind it--was that I thought the [vandalism] button was just a label that had been applied to a user's edit by someone else after it had been tagged as vandalism, and I thought that if it were a label, clicking on it might lead to more information about that incident, or something along those lines.

Mostly, I was an idiot for enabling Twinkle without even knowing what all it was doing. Thankfully, that was short-lived and I know much more about the tool now, but unfortunately, I did accidentally damage at least one page. I hope you were able to correct my screw-up(s). Once you're a little more accustomed to mainspace and make some more edits there, you may enjoy the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy! Some of the tools definitely have a learning curve, I had a few goofs with Twinkle and then switched over to RedWarn once I got a better understanding of Wikipedia policy.
