Hi Bbb23, My apologies for any confusion that has come from my account creation/article creation. I am a member of the Neopets metaverse community and noticed there was a lot of confusion from other members of the community on Twitter and on Discord. Neopets is a very old game and therefore some of the community members only know the old game and not the new Metaverse game releasing soon. I created this account with the intention of helping people in our community and outside our community more easily understand Web3 and the differences between Neopets and Neopets Meta. There was no intent to promote or advertise any products, simply just to help my fellow community members. I know the name was probably not the best choice, but given that I didn't previously have an account and my intent was to make an article around the Neopets Meta game, I thought the name was fitting but now realise that it probably wasn't the best choice. I personally believe that the article does no harm and serves the same purpose as any other game/business page such as; The original Neopets page, The elder scrolls v skyrim page and any other page that talks about the information/history behind games. That is not the purpose of Wikipedia.Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. If your only purpose in editing Wikipedia is to "educate" the membership about the game, you should get yourself a website. If you were to be unblocked, you would need to change your username and describe what edits you would make outside of your conflict of interest. All of your edits have been promotional and clearly a conflict of interest. You neglected to mention you are promoting some sort of NFT and have edited about people connected with it. Looks like my colleague has placed a block for WP:sockpuppetry You would need to address that too, or maybe most of all. Hi, I completely understand the reason why the article would have initially been taken down. After reviewing the references I listed I can see that it would have come across as an article that aims to entice members to play Neopets Meta, but the intention of the article is the same as any other game page that exists already, such as Neopets or Poptropica or Club Penguin. What would I need to do differently in order for this article to be kept active like those articles? I tried to remain factual throughout the entire article, the same way that the other similar articles have as well. Neopets Metaverse is a Web3 Metaverse game, therefore excluding the element of their history where the access was limited to NFT holders would be withholding factual information that is relevant to where the game is at today. I am more than happy to try and rewrite the article to change wording and make it as far from any sort of promotional material as possible. As for the sockpuppeting, the account referenced on my page is not an account that I have ever held. This account is my only account. I tried submitting a name change request when the article was published to MooningWeb3 (Mooning referring to when an NFT project "Goes to the Moon") which is a representation of my passion for Web3 as a whole. I would love to have another shot at trying to write this article again, and I really had no malicious intent with anything written in the article. Please read other stuff exists. It could be that these other articles you reference are also inappropriate. As this is a volunteer effort where people do what they can when they can, it is possible for inappropriate articles to get by us. We can only address what we know about. Poor articles existing is not a reason to add more poor articles. As DFO notes above, you greatly misunderstand the purpose of Wikipedia. It is not a place to merely tell about something and what it does- even if you do so without soliciting customers or selling something. This is a place to summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. I suggest that you read about meat puppetry; when one account does something that another account was blocked for, we must treat them as if they are operated by the same person, even if they are not. 331dot (talk) 08:34, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
