About Image:EWU University Pic.jpg[edit]
Hi Niaz: I notice you've uploaded Image:EWU University Pic.jpg. Don't you think the image is totally blurred and lacks any information quality what so ever? - I do completely agree with you. Actually I didn't have enough good pictures and had to put something to show an extra curricular event. Besides, all other pix at EWU article are also not good at all - in terms of quality and photography as well. Recently Salman joined us here in WP. He is one of my junior bros at EWU and a talented photographer. I requested him to take some appropriate pictures of EWU and upload them to replace existing pix. wikify my article about Draga Matkovic[edit]
Hi Niaz, my original article about Draga Matkovic was written in the German wikipedia. The tools there are a bit different. I have put most internal links meanwhile, but perhaps you could help me with two points: How do I get the picture (link added on the bottom of the article) on top? How do I announce that the same article (but more elaborated) exists on the German wikipedia? By the way, Draga Matkovic was my piano teacher.

Conversation with an Anonymous user[edit]
1. The official status of King's College London is "College of the University of London." Please see King's current Charter and the University of London Act. Also, please see King's website "About" section, the University of London website. Please aslo read the FAQ on King's College London's degree awarding powers. According to that official document, the new King's College London certificate will make clear that King's College London is a "Constitutent College" of the University of London.
2. There is no such thing as "Member" in the University of London structure. Affiliates are assigned into "Colleges"(Recognised Bodies) and "Institutes" of the School of Advanced Study. Please do not invent a "fact". Even LSE and the Institute of Education are formally classified as "Colleges" under the University statutes, though they do not necessarily have the name "College".
3. You may find it harsh to accept that King's, a university widely viewed as being in its own right, is constitutionally and officially a "constituent college" of the University of London. But this is nevertheless a fact, acknowledged by King's authorities, as well as mentioned its own degree certificates. There is no debate. It is also accepted by the University of London, of course. Wikipedia ought to present facts, but not opinions. Using the term "member" does not reflect the settled status of King's since 1836. King's is bound by all the ordinances, rules and statutes of the University of London. Please see also other wiki pages of the London colleges. Please do not invent the fake "member" category for the University of London. This is very misleading.

This is such a debatable issue that it became notable enough to have a standalone article on Wikipedia - see this : Third_oldest_university_in_England_debate. - Yep Bhaia :-). I am actually trying to finish remaining work with List of universities in Bangladesh so that I can fully concentrate on our core activity, i.e. Sundarbans and Cox's Bazar. Speedy as non notable can only be used for the sort of articles specified in WP:CSD A7: people, groups of people: bands, clubs and similar organizations, webcontent. - Bhaia, I do agree that we cannot use this image :-(. I requested Shuman Bhaia (Shuman Kumar Nath) to send me an image representing all the members of BUET Bengal Tiger and he sent me this one. Actually it was my mistake that I didn't mention him to send me image from his personal collection. And I wasn't aware of its web presence as well. Please take necessary step to remove this copy. In the mean time I will request Shuman Bhaia once again to send me an image from his personal collection. Thanks for the clarification. May we all need to take a second look at fly-by tagging of articles. There are way too many mindless taggers all over the Wikipedia, some even using it as a tool to irritate others (trust me, I know, from a victims viewpoint). Fascinating that someone from Ireland has read about the Norconian[edit]
Hello, was most interested to find you would like to delete my entry, didn't know that was how the system worked. The article as time permits will be fleshed out dramatically with the primary purpose being to let people know about one of the great California Historical Resources. Our reason is the main building is in terrible danger of being "demo'd by neglect" and we want people to know about the site and hopefully scream support.
The Norconian Resort (1928-1941) is a rather forgotten (though not lately), yet legendary site. In the last year it has gained a great deal of attention on a national level. The main building (club/hotel/meeting rooms/indoor pools/AAU outdoor qualifying pools) plus another building (Tea Room)rests within the confines of a state prison (California Rehabilitation Center), while sixteen other structures rest outside the prison within a Navy base (NAVSEA). All of these buildings, structures and features (a man made lake, Chauffeurs Quarters, Lake Pavilion,Tea House,garden bridge, original landscaping, etc.) are listed on the National Register of Historic Places (always a basic place to start when doing professional research). Most amazing is all are still standing except a 19th building (laundry) which was torn down due to a Navy policy of when they build one building another has to come down. The one they chose was a magnificent example of Art Deco/Spanish Revival Architecture and designed by G. Stanley Wilson who was the last to work on the National Landmark Mission in Riverside, California.
In 1941 the United States Navy purchased the resort in Sept-Oct and on December 8,1941 the resort was commissioned the United States Naval Hospital in Corona (the hospital was actually in the town of Norco, but, the post was Corona based, so Corona). The first patients were from Pearl Harbor and literally were housed and treated in the luxurious rooms of the former resort. The facility was quickly altered and expanded to include isolation wards (the hospital was the designated national tubercular and malaria treatment center for the United States as well as the Naval Pacific Coast Polio facility, a 200,000sq ft ward addition (which was christened by Eleanor Roosevelt), a marvelous chapel, complete theater, gymnasium (where wheelchair basketball was born), a nurses quarters, corpsman quarters, etc. At the hospital's peak (1945) over 5000 patients were being treated. Many firsts occurred at the hospital; first use of penicillin for tubercular patients, first uses of polio vaccine outside of Pittsburgh, first hand held x-ray machines, etc. Many of the stars who frequented the resort now frequently entertained the patients. The hospital closed temporarily in 1949 and re-opened in 1950 for the Korean War. During this closure the Naval Weapons Assessment Center was born and soon became one of the finest top-secret think tanks in the nation. The hospital closed for good in 1957, however the Naval Assessment Center remained. In 1962, 94 northern acres were given to the state of California and on that site was born the California Rehabilitation Center; the first state funded addiction treatment program in the nation. This voluntary program (addicts had a choice of prison or CRC)moved into the old resort club house, the northern wards, north wing, chapel, gymnasium, nurses quarters, etc. Unfortunately, there was a battle of attitudes; correction version rehabilitation and corrections won. The prison quickly moved from low security to high medium and 5000 of the worst of the worst reside within truly historic walls. In 2004, the main clubhouse was abandoned and now sits behind twenty foot high fences. Water is destroying this amazing building.
At this point, I would recommend you go to www.lakenorconianclub.org and look at some of the media and information about the site.
Regarding documentation - The book you spoke of is based on exhaustive research (I literally reviewed every copy of three local papers from 1915-1955, and the two others to present day, over 80 interviews (including former guests, employees, corpsman, nurses, doctors, guards, administrators, programers, local, long time residents, and the family of Rex Clark who originally build the resort (his daughter (98) and grandson (74)). Further, over 2,500 hundred photos and negatives have been uncovered through all of the above and from the National Archives, the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, UCLA, USC, Amateur athletic Foundation, Pittsburgh University and over 30 other libraries and special collections. Further, over 5000 historical documents have been uncovered that literally tell the story of the Norconian from beginning to end.
The brief blurb posted is minuscule given the tremendous history of the site who's National designation is the Lake Norconian Club Historic District. Recently, the California State Historic Preservation Commission gave support to expanding the National Register to include the Navy buildings (1941-1957), the early years of NAVSEA and the first 3 years of CRC and no doubt will support elevating status from a local level to National Landmark designation.
A great deal of this information is now online (though I probably know more than anyone about the site) and would recommend if truly interested to buy the book "The Norconian Resort". I would like to make a recommendation. I could not help but look into your past comments and recommendations to delete other entry's to Wikipedia and the responses from the authors you have challenged. I respectfully suggest you do some research prior to taking such action, as many of the listings you have challenged are extremely well known and most certainly fit the criteria necessary for listing. On the other hand, generally speaking, soccer stadiums and such do not (though I suppose on an extremely minor and local level they might have significance, however, in my neck of the woods there are at least ten major stadiums, but, only one Norconian in the nation). The Norconian Resort, though unknown in some ways, has had an extraordinary amount of major publicity (70+ articles, major television coverage, magazines, etc) in the last year on a national (US) level and most certainly in the rather large state of California. There are numerous references on line and a very accessible website. This historic district is home to a building that is simply magnificent and it is a miracle that it still exists at all(with chandeliers still hanging from the ceilings and gold leaf on the walls). The designers were the most prominent in the nation and sadly most of their work has been torn down. Dwight Gibbs the designer of the club house is virtually forgotten despite a prolific career as is golf course designer John Duncan Dunn. Historically, if you were a diver or swimmer on the US Olympic team in 1928, 1932, 1936 or canceled 1940, you competed at the Norconian. The pools were the first outdoor AAU qualifying pools in Southern California and the day they opened unknown Cecily Cuhna set the world record for the 500 meter swim. The airfield was not only used by Will Rogers, but Amelia Earhart, Wallace Beery, Jimmy Doolittle, Eddi Rickenbacker and Charles Lindberg. The listing in Wikipedia is specifically designed to attract attention to save club house from destruction and my hope will not be deleted based on what appears to be a whim. I would recommend you purchase the book The Norconian Resort and you will discover a truly amazing place.

I have been working here as a good-nominator for a long time. I don't have that prejudice that I will keep supporting my own nomination even if it is wrong. In past, whenever I found my mistake or someone showed me that I was wrong, I instantly withdrawn my nomination and I readily helped active editors of that article in whatever the way I could. What is a user password?[edit]
As you stated Ireland has the internet and a simple mouseclick would indeed have let you know a great deal about the subject that I have written; for instance the listing of the resort on the National Register which has just about as stringent a requirement for notibility as any in the world - most certainly far beyond most standards. Respectfuly, not many soccer stadiums make that relatively small catalog. Unlike your mis-step, my ignorant and arrogant mistake was too quickly attempting to list a topic with the notion I could take my time before such odd scrutiny would take place. I am still not happy with the listing, but, given this unfamiliar terrain and your call for deletion, I felt my notibility standard must be made apparent very quickly. I am assuming from your response, we have an understanding about my listing.
Given your comment regarding a "user password", I would again recommend you research before you speak. I take what I do very seriously whether listed in wikipedia or in any information forum and my goal is not to see whether my research will stand up and make wikipedia a better tool, but, will stand up anywhere. Regarding a "user password" I have no idea what you are referring to unless, as I clumsily navigated to communicate with you I unknowingly pushed some button that triggered heaven knows what. Most assuredly I had no intent to glean such information much less the knowledge to do so; quite honestly I suspect you are aware of that. Perhaps someone else offended by your quick judgement? I respectfully stand behind my earlier comments that your past statements should be looked at (I have no idea by who) and hope you will elevate your comments and actions quite a distance upward to a more scholarly plateau.
Regarding tolerance, we're pretty friendly in these parts and generally greet the new kids on the block with a friendly howdy and show them the ropes. "Deletion" is a pretty cold word and it's use has dimmed my excitement about listing with wikipedia. However, as you might have read, I received some pretty informative and friendly greetings from others and will very quickly take their advice. During our exchanges I was accused of attempting to access someone else’s username, it was claimed I suggested a personal interest as motive for a deletion nomination, and it was inferred that my responses in answer to messages received were in some way a kind of overboard harassment from thin air. Then, I am asked to be polite? I encourage a review of our exchanges. Clearly, there is an error in perception of fact.
Finally, a threat was made. If the wikipedia overseers will in fact do improper due diligence and believe absurd, verifiably untrue accusations to give the boot, so be it.
My problem with the deletion nomination is one of due diligence and disrespect of another’s work and history. Several others contacted me and rather than simply delete, were extremely helpful and quite kind. I respectfully suggest that a review of those exchanges might be prudent and, again respectfully, ask that contact never again be made under any circumstance, particularly with threats, particularly with threats. Since it is a vast and one of the most important fields related to Bangladesh, I strongly believe that this article should be in a better condition, thus I have started working on it. As library is a part of your life, I think, you can help me most. I am also a library lover and formed my small library when I was in class eight in 1996.
