Speedy deletion of UPLB Student Councils[edit]

A tag has been placed on UPLB Student Councils requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Beeblebrox (talk) 02:58, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

September 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from UPLB Student Councils, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Beeblebrox (talk) 07:21, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem: Fermin Torralba[edit]

Hello. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Fermin Torralba, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.senate.gov.ph/senators/former_senators/fermin_torralba.htm, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. • Gene93k (talk) 09:15, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Makiling Residence Hall[edit]

I have nominated Makiling Residence Hall, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Makiling Residence Hall. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. roux   17:04, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with File:Ph seal quezon gumaca.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ph seal quezon gumaca.png. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 12:06, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation[edit]

Hello, I noticed you've made edits to University of the Philippines (UP) and UP–related articles and thought you might want to support our recent proposal to create the WikiProject University of the Philippines. We've recently revamped the proposal and started a drive to push the approval of this project. We have a lot of articles that may be under this project and we would like assistance and support for its approval. Hope we'll have a very positive response. Go Fighting Maroons!

P.S. You can look at the preliminary drafts of the project in here. Thanks! --The Wandering TravelerWIKIPROJECT UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT! 06:54, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi The Wandering Traveler I've already accepted your invitation. I'm currenly guarding the articles from vandalisms and such. Thanks Nickrds09 11:57, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcomes and signature[edit]

Hi Nickrds09. Thanks for your hard work welcoming new users. However: please don't welcome users who haven't made an edit yet. It interferes with some forms of vandalism patrol, it's a waste of time and bandwidth as 99% of new accounts never edit anyway, and it has been held against people in past adminship discussions because it looks like edit count inflation.

Also, would you mind changing your signature? As it stands, you don't have a link to your talk page in it - something that guidelines suggest should be there and many editors insist upon. Also, asking new users to contact you on your talk page then not providing a link is a bit confusing. Cheers REDVƎRS 06:54, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, my apology, I haven't thought about that. Well thanks for the information and the reminder. I'll act upon your suggestion. Again Thank you. -Nickrds09 (Talk to me) 07:10, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

September 2010[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Baybay City a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Evil saltine (talk) 18:17, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Evil saltine. Thanks for the information. I already used the "Move" tab in the other contributions I made. I just forgot to use it on my first try, I mean in moving Baybay City. Thank you again for the reminder. -Nickrds09 (Talk to me) 20:38, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:MSEUF Seal.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Proposed blackout in protest of RA 10175[edit]

Dear Nickrds09,

Greetings!

As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.

Please feel free to participate in the discussion at Wikipedia talk:Tambayan Philippines#The Cybercrime Prevention Act, and I hope your input will help the Filipino Wikipedia community determine which is the best course of action against this law. Similarly, we hope to get as much input from as many Wikipedians as possible.

Thank you and maraming salamat po!

Kind regards,

Hey, where do you get the attendances from? Kante4 (talk) 16:10, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Kante4 I'm getting it from the Boxscore tab of the livestats for example here is from the Senegal vs Puerto Rico.
Thanks but am i blind or just don't see it (for either match played so far)? I checked several games but never saw the attendance (but i see the arena...). Kante4 (talk) 17:28, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Actually what I did was to search for the matches that has been played already through the scroller at the top of the page. And from there when you select Boxscore there's an area at the bottom of the page Game Info where the Arena, officials and attendance are listed. Nickrds09 (Talk to me) 17:33, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, stupid not to have it on the report link... Thanks anyway! Kante4 (talk) 17:41, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Agree! It should have been on the report link already. I've just wondered through the page when I saw those info. --Nickrds09 (Talk to me) 17:42, 31 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:DZLB AM Transmitter.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 3. The list of participants has been alphabetized so you can more easily find your name and report your contributions.
  4. There is a template that you can use on your user page. {{Template:User Asian Month‎}}

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:23, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation from Wikipedia Asian Month 2016[edit]

Thanks for partipating Wikipedia Asian Month last year, and I hope you enjoy it. Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. We will organize this event again in upcoming November, and would like to invite you join us again.

This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. We are also improving our postcard sending process, e.g. making the postcards right now, and collecting the address after the event ends without waiting other languges.

Wikipedians who create the most articles on each Wikipedia will be honored as "Wikipedia Asian Ambassadors". We will send you both digital copy, and a paper copy of the Ambassador certificate.

Thank you for considering! --AddisWang (talk)

2019 US Banknote Contest[edit]

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here
