WWE Home Video Cat

Under this category there are a number of dubious entries, like The Big Event, all 6 Divas DVDs and The Undertaker: This is my Yard. While one DVD per wrestler seems fine (like Self-Desruction of UW, Best There Was..., 619 and Four Horsemen), I don't think Mark needs two DVD entries. Take a look see what needs PROD-ing, or maybe for the Divas a group AfD. Darrenhusted 11:37, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

I'll do the DIvas in a group, if you'll pardon the expression! You can PROD the others as you see fit, personally I think the the whole lot can go, but I know that someone will remove a tag, and they'll end up in a no consensus AfD. Darrenhusted 23:47, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
PS, this might be worth looking in to [Category:Professional wrestling direct-to-video films], seems like a lot of dreck, maybe CfD it or use it to PROD from. Darrenhusted 23:49, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
The Divas are here, check I haven't missed any. Darrenhusted 00:06, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

Scroll Boxes

Ahhh, your killing me Nikki LOL!!! So I jumped the gun on the scroll boxes, I love that tool hahaha... I'll keep it to the long ones ok! Admit it's a nifty tool though!!!  :) Hellswasteland 02:43, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

I think this falls under CSD A3:

"No content whatsoever. Any article consisting only of links elsewhere (including hyperlinks, category tags and "see also" sections), a rephrasing of the title, and/or attempts to correspond with the person or group named by its title. This does not include disambiguation pages."

You may want to change the tag. Darrenhusted 22:07, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

While the WWE DVD articles are up for AfD...

I've also now listed all the TNA DVDs, hopefully this will get rid of the DVDcruft in one go. Darrenhusted 10:31, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Can You Help Me?

Hi Nikki311, I know you are aware of the dispute that went on about the Iconoclasm, and XiBalba on Aerial Techniques. After the long ridiculous debate, I renamed the move a Top Rope Flipping Slam and catagorized three moves underneath it in alphabetical order to be fair (Fall From Grace, Iconoclasm, and XiBalba). I re-wrote it all to ensure wikibility, and I referenced the moves (which might I add almost nothing is references on many of these pages). The account Timber99 was created right after I made the original change on the other page, and has made no other edits except to fight about this move or complain about myself or another user! Now all of a sudden, User:Lid is pulling a similar stunt where I moved everything (Professional Wrestling Throws). My references are a story written on the wrestler from Wrestling Then & Now magazine, as well as an interview with the wrestler Brimstone. The ONLY references for the Iconoclasm are fan sites! There are no references that show this move as created by the wrestler CIMA. A lot of things concern me with this whole situation, from users to lack of proper referencing. On wiki, the claim with proper citation should stand, not an unreferenced piece of work or a poorly referenced work. Regardless, I need help. If this can not be resolved, then the whole move should come off until more referencing can be found. Now all of a sudden, Timber99 is responding to my plea to User:Spartaz. I am feeling as though something is going on here, and I am not going to accuse... however people can put two and two together WrestlefnLI 13:53, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

                • Wrestling Then &" Now is not a reliable source*******

"Wrestling Then & Now" is not a 'magazine'; rather it is nothing more than an obscure reference to what could be anything at all (from a fansite to a newsletter to a magazine to a book) until u give aaaannnnyyyy sort of link or information on it. U have been saying 'Wrestling Then & Now, look at Wrestling Then & Now.' None of us can possibly look at it when u don't provide any information on it. Its official site is hosted on angelfire which should tell u a little something about how reliable it is - http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling3./thenandnow/ Nothing is provided on the site in terms of a history of general information. It is NOT a reliable source! Ur calling it a "magazine" is totally untrue. At the moment, you have zero relaible sources to back up this XiBalba thing. You have never ever ever addressed this argument and you will never ever ever address this argument no matter how politely I ask you- Timber99 - Timber99 14:12, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

This is the one and ONLY post I will do here on Nikki's page because I refuse to clutter anyone's talk page arguing. Evan Ginsberg who has been a part of the wrestling business for many many years puts out Wrestling Then & Now. He is extremely reputable in the business, and is an agent for many former superstars including Johnny Valiant. If you would like more information on his reputability, then feel free to either look him up for real, or chack out these links http://www.evanginzburg.com/ , http://www.riotradionetwork.com/index.php?view=getshow&show=Evan%20Ginzburgs%20Legends , and http://www.angelfire.com/wrestling3/thenandnow/ . I am sure that you can find plenty of reliable references on him if you would like to look. Here are two seperate sources from an extremely reliable source MAKING Evan & Wrestling Then & Now a reliable source http://www.mediaman.com.au/interviews/ginzburg.html & http://www.mediaman.com.au/articles/wrestling_then.html . Media Man Greg Tingle is a major source of reliable and notable information. Now that I have answered YOUR question beyond a shadow of a doubt, let's see if you can back up your claims? Again, sorry Nikki311 for cluttering your page. WrestlefnLI 14:27, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

If you type in "WP:Reliable sources" in the lefthand search box, you will get the following: 'Reliable publications are those with an established structure for fact-checking and editorial oversight.'

As you have said yourself, there is one person who puts out Wrestling Then & Now. Where are the editors? Where is the "established structure for fact-checking?" I don't see anything about it on the web sites you linked to. You falsely stated that it was a magazine. You know it is not a magazine. Do you still insist it is a magazine?

If you would have actually bothered to pay some attention to my edits over the past few days (none of which existed because I hadn't edited until you started to talk about me behind my back), you would've realized that it wasn't me who removed the content from the article; instead it was another user, and you also would've realized that I let the content stay when you originally added it because at this point I was appeased with the situation. My concern was the reliability of sources, and still is, but I was willing to let it stay and let bygones be bygones (Spelling?) until you started within the last 24 hours getting on my case again despite my not saying anything. This makes me question your intentions considering the situation was over and done with until yesterday when you started complaining about me when I hadn't edited in days.

- Timber99 - Timber99 21:02, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I didn't ask who writes guest columns; I asked who proofreads and edits it, per the stipulation at "WP:Reliable sources."

Who comprises the editing and proofreading staff of this "magazine" as stipulated by the Reliable sources requirement? I want to know the answer to this question. How can a single person publish a "magazine?"

The only thing you appear to have proved for certain is that you accuse users you who don't agree with you of having alternate accounts, as you have done to me previously and are continuing to do, despite constant respect on my part towards yourself.

You got snippy at me when I asked for links about Wrestling Then & Now. Thats not a reasonable thing to get snippy about.

It wasn't me who removed the content from the article; instead it was another user. I let the content stay when you originally added it because at that point I had given up. My concern was the reliability of sources, and still is, but I was willing to let it stay and just let bygones be bygones (Spelling?) and then suddenly you started within the last 24 hours getting on my case on other talk pages again despite my not saying anything to or about you. This makes me question your intentions considering the issue was done with considering the issue appeared to be done with. I didn't restart or continue this issue (to me, it was over), the other guy did. I'm just chiming in here, nothing more.

Shane "Brandon" McMahon

Hey I think I found a source to the middle name; not sure, though. (And its credited it to WWE). --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 18:40, 06 August 2007 (UTC)

Candice Michelle

Hey Nikki311. I want to get your opinion on the Candice Michelle article and if you feel it could pass GA review in its current state. Personally I feel it could if the lead was expanded, but the only thing that may fail it is its stability. Every week there seems to be a new fanboy/girl with a Candice-esque username wanting to add every move she ever performed or every match she was involved in. Also there are no photos, but it's not a GA necessity so that should be okay. - Deep Shadow 07:48, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you so much for going through the article. It looks pretty perfect. And great job on the lead section too. :) I will nominate it now. - Deep Shadow 01:57, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

WWE 2007 Diva Search

hey stop deleting that section because

1. WWE.COM already confirmed it

2.2 of the contestants have been revealed

3.oh block that person that keeps putting that Elivia Zamudio oh whatever is in the Diva Search because obiviously she aint and keeps spamming the page for Diva Search by putting that Elvia name every time - Spike7000

Genki Horiguchi

I noticed that you marked the recreated Genki Horiguchi article for speedy deletion. I explained why I recreated it, or rather, had explained on that article's talk page prior to your speedy deletion nomination. Please discuss on that page why you feel the wrestler in question doesn't satisfy notability. McJeff 04:59, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

"Over" merger

I want to reiterate that a discussion at WP:PW that does not include editors who actually contribute to the article is not really sufficient to establish consensus on a topic such as a merger. Again, per WP:MERGE, while merging does not require discussion, mergers that are controversial could be reverted, as I reverted in this case. I think that there is a mistaken notion among people at WP:PW that they have absolute authority over pro wrestling articles and do not need to consult with people who may edit pro wrestling articles but do not identify as project members. That said, if I would be able to add verifiable content to the list article and would not get reverted, then fair enough. Croctotheface 01:15, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Thank you

I just wanted to say that I appriciated your copyediting skills on the Bobby Eaton article, I've been doing the best I could but since my native language isn't English things are bound to be missed if it's just me looking at an article. So thank you, I'm sure it's improved it's chances of becoming GA MPJ-DK 13:24, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Hehehe yes, I was quite happy when they were blocked. Did you see what the final straw was? If not, they tried to change their name (presumably for a fresh start) by moving their user page to different names. It was reverted each time, once by me. As a result, they decided to move my page to User:PUNKBITCH (contributions).

I was thinking whether or not to remove their post to you but I decided to leave it in case you wanted to respond like you did here. :P The only thing we need to worry about now is potential sockpuppetry. - Deep Shadow 16:56, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I've never reported sockpuppets of banned users before. I think we may be able to take this straight to an administrator. I'll make a report to Luna Santin as they were the blocking admin. - Deep Shadow 01:55, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Done. Let's see what the next account they create will be. Maybe something like BIGCANDICELOVER. :P - Deep Shadow 02:10, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Billy Wolfe, Mildred Burke and Whipper Watson

Hi Nikki. I just wanted to thank you on the job you did on the articles that I expanded (Wolfe, Burke, Watson). I had no idea on how to merge references but your fine editing showed me how. I used it to merge sources on the article for Gene Kiniski. Thanks again!!! Maple Leaf 17:22, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I like that idea of every WWE Diva article being GA. I was thinking that the Melina Perez article is well sourced, but is still a bit lacking. Perhaps doing some work on that? She doesn't have as many fanboys as Candice does so it should be easier to work on. :P - Deep Shadow 03:32, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Our next GA

I think that's a good idea. I was having difficulty finding some early life history for Melina about things like where she went to high school etc. Stratus is much easier to source (obviously :P). But you're right, we can find more sources for her. I was thinking that we could perhaps ask LaraLove to review all of our future Diva GAC's due to her eagerness to review the Candice Michelle article after just one day of it being nominated. When we decide the article is ready, should we post a discussion about it on the project talk page before we nominate it, or just go for it? - Deep Shadow 02:56, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

I just quickly went through and cleaned up Melina's article, removing not notable week by week and taking it out of universe, and added some of Stratus' charity work to her personal life section. I think we've almost covered everything. - Deep Shadow 14:54, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Would you say this is a reliable website about Melina's high school? A google search turns up about 178 hits but all the other sites are totally unreliable. I don't know why it's so difficult to find some history about her, but I did however find something that we could include. I thought it was pretty interesting as it contains backstage information. I don't know if you have seen it before but here's the link. - Deep Shadow 02:47, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
The article implies that it is Mickie James by saying "she was supposed to be Trish's crazed fan" and even has her former ring name "Alexis Laree" at the end of the page. Not sure if that is considered hard proof though. - Deep Shadow 03:19, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Regarding Stratus' article, perhaps we could move the 'after wrestling' section to just before the 'in wrestling' section, to keep with the flow of the career. Having it outside of the 'career' section makes it seem like it isn't actually part of her career. Also, maybe we should consider moving details from her personal life to a section of its own. I don't think it's fitting to have things like Canada's Walk of Fame and the other works she has done under the 'personal life' heading. - Deep Shadow 07:42, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

I changed 'after wrestling' to 'television' and placed it in the 'career' section, but I didn't create the new section because I don't know what to call it, nor do I know where to place it on the page. I was wondering if maybe you could take a stab at it. Also I just noticed one small thing: all references to WWE before May 8 2002 are to be changed to 'WWF' or 'the WWF', but the Babe of the Year award started in 2001. Do we change that to WWF Babe of the Year in the 'in wrestling' section? Also, if we do that, then we should maybe change the 2002 award too but that depends on which month she was given the title. - Deep Shadow 02:51, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
That should work. But we may have to change the layout to the Babe of the Year. Right now, it reads like
which could pose a problem, unless we change it to something like
As for 'outside wrestling', I'm okay with that. The order of where to place the information would be tricky, but I guess we should just try to do it chronologically. - Deep Shadow 02:40, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

I added another reference to the information about her work as a spokesperson for the WNSA, but I changed the year in the sentence from 2002 to 2001. Now I'm just thinking that, perhaps she had been the spokesperson prior to 2001 but we just can't find an exact date of when she joined, or if she is still representing them or not. I don't really know how to work that line but I think once it's fixed, the article should be nominated. If you agree, please go ahead and add it to the list, unless you feel we should discuss it first at WPT:PW. I have a feeling that it may not even be put on hold, but be passed straight away. - Deep Shadow 10:54, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Cool, although I wouldn't identify it as a long article according to WP:LENGTH. I did a test in my sandbox a little while ago and the article didn't reach 20 KB. - Deep Shadow 21:20, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

No problem. I really hope it goes straight through. Also, what do you think of these edits? Leave it or revert it? - Deep Shadow 21:27, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
I feel the same. Perhaps we could ask Nahallac Silverwinds for a third opinion. - Deep Shadow 21:50, 12 September 2007 (UTC)

Help

Sorry to bother you, but this is a bit beyond my wiki skill level. Reggie Bennett was nominated for AfD a while ago, and survived. Problem is she spent the bulk of her career in Japan, and I can't figure out how to get better references. There wasn't a Japanese translator listed on the page when I looked, should I go to WP:Japan , or would they consider it beneath them? I'm a bit out of my depth on this one, but eventually someone is going to renominate the article.

Again, sorry to bug you, but you're the only person in the project that I think would help. Horrorshowj 01:29, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Nikki311. I have created two articles about wrestling and I would be neat if you could look them over, at your convenience of course. One of the articles is about Oklahoman wrestler Leroy McGuirk while the other is about Toronto promoter Frank Tunney. Tunney is still a bit of a work in progress but I definitely value your contributions to wrestling articles. Have a good one. Cordially, Maple Leaf 20:24, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi Nikki311. Thank you for your work on the article. With regards to his daughter's name, I should have clarified it. Her real name is Michelle, but she is known as Mike McGuirk. Alright, I'll try to get other people to help. Question, is this section needed for Shawn's article: Michaels then had short feuds with Mark Henry and the new World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg before joining Steve Austin's Survivor Series Team. At Survivor Series, Team Austin (Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and The Dudley Boyz) faced Team Bischoff (Scott Steiner, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho, Christian, and Randy Orton). During the match, Evolution member Batista interfered and gave Michaels the Batista Bomb, costing him the match. Michaels went on to defeat Batista at Armageddon.
