Amy Dumas review[edit]

I looked over the article and you have done some great work. It is pretty much ready to be nominated, although I do have some notes (not all of them necessary) that might help improve its chances:

  • General notes
  • Year ranges should be separated by an en dash (–) instead of a hyphen (-) per WP:MOSDASH.
  • Avoid overly formal words E.g. 'Upon' is used in the wrestling career and 2004-2005 sections.
  • In the 2006 section, the full stop should be inside the quotation per WP:PUNC.
  • The feud with Eddie Guerrero and Chyna in the 1999-2000 section is one sentence long. It should either be expanded if it was an important feud or deleted as week-by-week.
  • Inconsistency with names in the 2004-2005 section—Stratus --> Trish --> Stratus --> Trish.
  • In the same section, the line "Lita continued to feud with Stratus by proxy over the following weeks, with Kane defeating Stratus' champion, Viscera, at Backlash on May 1" contains a possible typo for 'companion'.
  • Also in this section, it should be explained that a suicide dive and Thesz Press are wrestling moves, and also be wikified to either the in wrestling section (Thesz Press would then need to be included) or to each individual move's explanation.
  • The music career section says "The two formed the band in the summer of 2006" before it says what the name of the band is.
  • In the same section, according to WP:EL, external links should not be used in the body of an article.
  • In the in wrestling section, song titles should be enclosed in double quotation marks instead of italics whereas album titles can use italics, per WP:ITALICS. Band names should not be in italics either.
  • Sources needed
  • Survivor Series six-pack challenge could use a cite. Also, seeing as Lita did not win, the match result is not necessary unless the sentence is rewritten.
  • Both the handicap match with Jeff Hardy against Matt Hardy and when Lita began accompanying Jeff need cites.
  • There is a lot of detail regarding the feud with Stratus over Lita's pregnancy that is using insufficient cites, although it is possible that the detail is covered in the book source.
  • After stating her heel turn, all the remaining lines in the paragraph are unsourced.
  • There are two paragraphs that don't have citations.
  • Sources optional
  • If possible, add citations for trainers in the infobox.
  • 2006 televised in-ring return.
  • Wrestlers managed by Lita and song names in the in wrestling section.
  • If possible, add citations for awards in the championships and accomplishments section.
  • Sources could be added for television appearances in the media section.

Sorry if that seems like a lot or if I'm just overly critical, but I want this article to pass just as much as you do. Coincidentally, I am almost finished with the Mickie James page, hopefully by today or tomorrow. I'm avoiding Online World of Wrestling too and it's looking like I don't have to use it at all. It should be moved into the mainspace soon and when it is, I would love for you to look over the article just as I have done for Dumas. Then, when both are complete and after Melina Perez passes (how can it fail? ;)), we should nominate both articles together, like a tag team. :P - Deep Shadow 09:38, 3 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great job you two, this article is fantastic! I just wish we had more/better pictures. I have one from a houseshow a couple years ago but I don't think its good enough for inclusion. --Naha|(talk) 20:46, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have addressed every note you left during your review although I could not cite the "Laree DDT II" and her entrance theme, "Just a Girl", from her OVW days. I removed the move name but left the theme. For "The Goodnight Kiss", this was the first time I used a {{cite video}} template and I hope I used it correctly. I was very careful to not use YouTube as the source (no matter how tempting it was) and was so thankful that the interview was available on the show's official website, so there shouldn't be any copyright issues if I'm not mistaken. So it looks like we're both finished for the time being. What's next? - Deep Shadow 12:31, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I added a citation for Dumas' middle name. I didn't even notice that during my review. - Deep Shadow 13:14, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I gave the article a quick run through and did some minor copyediting. Two random things that you might want to look into:

  • I know Mickie is from Montpelier, Virginia, and attended "Patrick Henry High School." What I am wondering is if Patrick Henry High School (Roanoke, Virginia) is the one she attended or not? Given that there are so many Patrick Henry High Schools listed at Wikipedia, it might not be. However, given that Montpelier is so small ("a small unincorporated town" according to its Wikipedia article), might she have attended high school in a bigger city like this? The only reason I even ask is that it would be nice to link to the school's article if this was in fact the right one.
  • The other thing is that I read somewhere, and now for the life of me I can't remember where (sorry :( ), that she and Kenny had recently broken up. Since their engagement is mentioned in the article it might be worth trying to find out the current status of their relationship if possible.

I know these are random suggestions but anyway ..great work on the article, and all the diva ones you guys have worked on ..they all read so well! --Naha|(talk) 16:17, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I tried and searched for hours on which school it was exactly that she went to but came up with nothing. And it was the actual article that had she and Ken Doane split, using an unreliable source. I will do a search to see what I can find. After this, Naha and Nikki, I'm all for giving the notice. - Deep Shadow 03:11, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. But ack, don't waste too much time on mine minor issues though! --Naha|(talk) 03:16, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I won't, but I'll do what I can. And Nikki, I'd feel more comfortable if you made the announcement. You're better at it than I am, and when the week is up I'll nominate Mickie James and you can nominate Amy Dumas. It's fair that way since I didn't do much actual work on Dumas' article other than a review. - Deep Shadow 04:55, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, just a quick question about Mickie James. Somebody added a {{fact}} tag about when she posed in the May 2000 issue of Leg Show. I've been going over the archives and I noticed your comment "The info should simply state that she posed nude for Leg Show magazine. That way, if someone wants to go find the pictures they can." Did you mean that the information doesn't require a cite since the magazine is the source? If that is the case, should the tag then be removed? - Deep Shadow 20:32, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found the cite you used. I will re-add it exactly as you wrote it, as I don't think enough information is known to complete a template. On a side note, good luck with your run for adminship. I know you will do the wrestling project and all of Wikipedia proud. - Deep Shadow 21:08, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ring name bolding[edit]

Hey, I noticed that you commented we shouldn't bold ring names anymore. I completely trust your judgement on this and it is perfectly cool with me, especially since you said it was frowned upon by GA/FA reviewers. I was wondering if you could point me to some specific information regarding this (conversation/MoS guideline or whatever) so that I can point other users to it in the future and use the reasoning in edit summaries when removing bolded ring names in hopes that it doesn't just get added right back into the articles. No rush on this, whenever you have time :)

Oh another thought on this. Since the bolding of ring names has been somewhat of a common thing to do in the past in a lot of wrestler articles. Perhaps a note about this should be added to the PW style guide and a notice given on the project talk page to discourage editors from doing it in the future?

Thanks as always, --Naha|(talk) 17:15, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I replied on my page too, but...

Our next project[edit]

That's cool you're tackling Torrie Wilson. I've always thought that article should be dealt with, but I never wanted to make an attempt myself. If I should work on an article, there are a few I would like to choose from such as Lisa Marie Varon, Beth Phoenix, Stacy Keibler and for some reason Maria Kanellis. Before I started work on Mickie James, I actually had Ashley Massaro's page copied into my sandbox. I made few edits to it because I had no actual desire to work on it. The only reason I chose it is because she is popular among fans, and I thought that the more popular articles should have greater priority. But I will move it down the list and I think I would like to work on… mmm… Varon. It would be cool because in her career she worked a lot with Torrie Wilson, so we can help each other during that period of time. And once these two articles pass we should consider working on the Vince's Devils page together, as all three member's articles would be GAs.

You know, I like the process on how we work: choose an article, edit it, swap articles, review it, notes (if any), copyedits from Naha, announcement, project's response, nominate. Every step is important. Anyway, if I have time tonight I will start working on it, but chances are slim since I've had a rough day in my personal life, but I'll spare you the details. - Deep Shadow 05:54, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Totally. It's getting more difficult already to choose which articles to work on. - Deep Shadow 10:48, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. There is a long list of things in Melina's article that needs fixing. I will get started immediately. I went ahead and nominated Mickie James. Now there are five wrestling related biography candidates up at GAN. - Deep Shadow 14:36, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LOTD proposal[edit]

There have been two recent proposals to begin a List of the Day feature on the main page, which have both received majorities but have not been approved as overwhelming support sufficient for the main page. From the Editor

Welcome to the inaugural edition of the WikiProject Professional wrestling newsletter! I hope this will be a good source of news to those people interested in what's happening around our pro wrestlimg community. I plan to release it every Sunday.

This newsletter will just be a way to get the community announcements to people who don't have the time to check the mesageboards, as well that to those just curious about the news. The newsleter will consist of a project news section (to do with what's happening on Wikipedia), and a current events section (relating to news in the "real world"). The newslette will also contain the Collaboration of the Week announcement.

That's all. If you have any feedback or suggestions, please post them at this talk page.

Ahoy![edit]

I have started your nomination for adminship at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Nikki311. I have alerted Nahallac Silverwinds about the nomination so that she may co-nominate at your request. Once she has completed the co-nomination, indicate your acceptance of the nomination (with optional statement), answer the required questions, and transclude the nomination at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship.

As for the specifics of your nomination, these things can be unpredictable, so be prepared to be prepared. The process can be stressful for some, but, if I can give any advice, I'd say don't worry about it too much, keep a cool head even if some folks have weird opposition rationales, take to heart constructive criticisms, and you'll do fine. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns at any time. Good luck! --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 10:01, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise[edit]

I needed to ask that question as Davnel03 has put me on a precarious spot of implying he would partake in admin shopping during this content dispute which I objected to. I believe the neutrality of admins in disputes that they are not a part of is one of the most important qualities an admin can possess but i some users saw themselves as "project friendly" I saw it as endorsing a certain viewpoint. –– Lid(Talk) 01:21, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your PPV suggestion at WP:PW[edit]

I thought I'd jet you know that I've tested it out at WWE One Night Stand. I've added references, along with a notes column. Would it be OK at this stage to nominate it for FL status? Thanks, Davnel03 17:00, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll source that last bit of the lead. I'll probably not add an image. Also, do I really need to give the "1 week notice" thing at WP:PW telling them about it, then wait for a week before nominating it? Or should I just go straight ahead and nominate it after sourcing the lead. Davnel03 18:30, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the support. I hope the length issue doesn't cause people to oppose. If this passes, other PPV list articles shouldn't be a problem. I might (depending on also whether In Your House 1 passes or fails) do the same with WrestleMania. Davnel03 18:17, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nora Greenwald[edit]

I undid your edit and for the following reasons:

  • I think a post WWE documentary featuring big names wrestlers in certainly notible.
  • Nora herself obviously thinks its notible that's why she put it on the front page of her site.
  • Said work is the reference for other sources of information still on the site (not finding Backlash 2006 offencive etc).

I'll alter this to provide the correct reference to the video on YouTube. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Commoncase (talkcontribs)
