Stay-at-home dad[edit]

Hey, thanks for correctly adding us to the good article nomination page, we are VERY new to wikipedia, and sometimes don't get everything quite right. Anyways, my group members and I are currently figuring out how to go about completing the edit you suggested. We will be working together on this a great deal tomorrow, so check it periodically (if possible) and let us know if we're on the right track. Good Work[edit]

Good work on the Winnipeg page. It needed a proper re-organization and more references. Feel free to move some of the history components to the History of Winnipeg page. I am adding to the main page right now and listing the footnotes but some of it can likely get moved over.

Sure thing. Take a look at the Working outline at Talk:Musical instrument. As you can see, I have some more information to add in the History section. I am at Baroque but I still need to write the last two subheadings. If you want to help out, can you take a look at the Construction and User Interfaces section? The Construction section definitely needs to be expanded to talk more about materials and construction, and both sections need sources. Run-on sentences[edit]

Could I ask a favour? You and an anon editor have commented on the number of run-on sentences in Saruman. By my understanding this means having two complete clauses joined only by a comma, and I can't see many (if any) of those in the article. However, I believe there are other definitions of the term (or I may just be missing them!). Would you mind listing a few typical examples from the article on the talk page so that I can get a better understanding of what you think is needed? A minor note to say that it looks like the Cornish language issue may have been resolved, and it also led to an improvement in the coverage of other languages in England, so that was a bonus. Hi, Nikkimaria,I've rechecked as far as the "lead" part of "Research". There are still sources that don't support what the article text says. There's also a lack of independent sources. Apart from St. B's own publicity, much is from government and funding bodies that will tend to present things in the best possible light. For example I'd accept comments about numbers of patients treated (subject to lack of treatment quality stats) or C$ funded, but not something like like "world-class research centre" as that's just advertising from the hospital or its sponsors. --Philcha (talk) 06:22, 18 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Nikkimaria, for your note. The main issue now is the over-reliance on PR sources - St.B's own PR, the provincial govt's (they have an interest in talking it up to make the pol and officials look good) and industry's (the example I found copied St. B PR). If you replace as much as possible with expert but independent sources, and then scrapping comments that rely only on PR, you'll have a more focussed and more impressive article. thank you very much on the GA review of Aboriginal peoples in Canada...much appreciated. I Was hoping it was closer then that to get its GA status, but your right on all you said. It is a very wide topic and with all the different contributors it is hard to keep it neat...like from when i asked for review it has had +10000 bits of info added by no less then 15 people. Hello my wonderfully GA adviser ...I was thinking of putting up Aboriginal peoples in Canada again for Review...I think we are ready ...but is that Wikipedia:Article size thing a problem i see the Canada page is 134 kilobytes to long, yet it is rated FA. I would believe that this article would fall under Wikipedia:Article size#Occasional exceptions as it is a broad subjects.The version now of the article is 121 kilobytes to long. Anyway tks for all your help, your GA summery and SriMesh wording of things has taught me alot, not only here at wiki, but in-general how write properly.

Query, sorry[edit]

Hello, back when you quoted in full the crazy rant left you by the user we all recognize as aggiebean, (at Talk:Anna Anderson) in the quote is the use of the nonexistent "IP/Rev", who is also frequently mentioned by aggiebean as "RevAntonio". This is an old disruption tactic she uses, though she has been wanred repeatedly that she cannot make references to this nonexistent username or implied identity. My query: is this true, that the nonexistent username and implied identity cannot be referenced? Your good article pass of 2009 flu pandemic[edit]

I've raised some concern regarding the article and your good article pass is being used as defense for it. Specifically I feel there is heavy bias towards what is going on in the US and what the CDC has to say, and I don't really feel it represents a broad view. You made note of that in the GA review process, but no one really detailed how they fixed it. Hi, thanks for the heads up. There is also a section on the discussion page for the article where I said I was putting up sources very soon. I see many articles on Wikipedia that have no sources...I acknowledged that there we no changes... can you explain why a many articles don't have sources but my paragraph is deleted within a couple of hours despite me acknowledging and giving explanation and also saying the sources are coming soon...?
