I believe you're Christian because

  • Jews (and maybe Muslims) don't eat pork...they eat lamb.
  • You don't find too many believers of either religion in the U.S.

RE: Abandonned Articles

[edit]

Hi! I saw your note on the Great Llama's talk page. The one about the Abandonned Articles. I don't know if there is a Wikiproject for it but if there is I'd like to join and if not, I'dlike to help make it. llama's probably at school riht nw so he might not answer immediately. Also, you might want to change your sig to [[user:Nineteenninetyfour|<font color=red>1.9</font>]][[User talk:Nineteenninetyfour|<font color=blue>94</font>]], to get: 1.994. Or something. Cheers! —¡Randfan! 17:27, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And I'm going to use the picture of Eraser Buddy, if it's okay to you. —¡Randfan! 17:28, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the late reply, I kinda forgot about the message. I'm pretty sure there isn't one (yet), as I checked the list of WikiProjects. As for creating one, I might want to do that eventually, but I'm currently rather busy on Wikipedia, following suggestions from opposes from my RfA. –The Great Llamamoo? 23:08, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Seadog might want to help, same with Kyoko and E@L. I'd be happy to help once we/you/I/someone elso creates it. —¡Randfan! 00:23, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Post scriptum: I think the project talk page would be agood place to leave the notes once it's created. —¡Randfan! 00:24, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think so, as long as it's under "Wikipedia:WikiProject (Abandonned Articles, or Adopting Articles, or something)". Tell me when it's made and I'll sign on the dotted line. —¡Randfan! 01:02, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Umm - with all due respect, if we don't have a way of getting anything but the oldest 1000 articles (see above), then why are we discussing anything about length of time since last edit? If we have no choice but to use the most recent 1000, then we have no choice. And, in any case, why wouldn't we want to start with the oldest? Respond on my talk page...thanks! To answer your next question

[edit]

I believe you live in the EST (if not then PST), because you believe in Bigfoot (found in the forests of the Pacific as well as in Michigan), you like scuba diving (you can scuba dive in the Great Lakes as well as the West Coast), and you like to camp (camping sites in both areas). Took me a while to figure this out! Sr13 (T|C) 21:22, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, what do you think about a project called Wikiproject Verify? Sr13 (T|C) 21:55, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You got it right! I live in the EST, however the way you figured it out was a little unexpected to me. I had expected for you to look at my posts and edits and see if any would be at bad hours for specific time zones, but good job anyway. I'll send you your reward soon. Ninetywazup? 01:22, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I did cross reference the time zones, but it wasn't very helpful. Sr13 (T|C) 01:29, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, what exactly would WikiProject Verify be about? Ninetywazup? 01:30, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Reading this may be helpful. Rather than being an extensive process of peer review (which Nupedia needed), the project would simply collaborate on a random article and verify its contents.
P.S. Guess which state I live in. Sr13 (T|C) 01:37, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that you live in Hawaii, because your user page says that you completed the wikihollic test at 1:25 am HST, and more people live in Hawaii than Alaska, so you more likely live in Hawaii than Alaska. Ninetywazup? 01:45, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yup, you're right. :) Sr13 (T|C) 01:55, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Some questions

[edit]

Saffah messed up your userpage, I think. (For the "King" thing, that's just...weird.) As for the colory numbers of doom in your watchlist (they're also in recent changes), those are the amount of bytes (slightly larger than characters) changed. See Wikipedia:Watchlist#What do the colored numbers mean?. –The Great Llamasign here 17:22, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And I'm not quite sure about the trolliness. I really can't figure out what it even means. –The Great Llamasign here 17:24, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that Saffah just didn't yet know that, despite knowing me personally, stuff like vandalism isn't taken lightly here on Wikipedia. Also, I think trolling has something to do with just posting random stuff to attract attention. Ninetywazup? 20:52, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The project has reached the quarter-way point for the work on the list of the oldest 1000 ("abandoned") articles in Wikipedia: 250 articles have been reviewed and updated!

The project now has 21 members. If you're no longer interested, please take your name off the list; you won't get any further messages like this one. On the other hand, if you're still interested, please consider signing up for a(nother) block of 10 articles to work on - if everyone did this, we'd be almost halfway through those 1000 articles!

Finally, please note that project approach has changed slightly - there is now a section for editors to place articles that need to be "adopted", or to adopt articles that need further work. This means that if you find an article in a block of ten that needs more work than you have time for, it has a place to be put.

Your random question

[edit]

I saw your talkpage question about timezone, but even though I looked all over the page, I missed the clue. (Maybe it was in the leetspeak userbox, which I can't read.) So, I just thought you'd want to know you stumped at least one person. :) Regards, Newyorkbrad 23:30, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arguably it was an unfair question because the instructions said to use information on this page (i.e., your userpage, not your contribs page) to figure it out. On the other hand, if another editor figured it out, I could have too. Regards, Newyorkbrad 23:44, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Random question of the week

[edit]

In step three, you divide by (x-y). If x=y as given, then x-y=0, which is Division by zero, an undefined and illegal mathematical concept. This voids the proof and is the solution to what is wrong with it. I love math! Cheers! Reywas92Talk 19:41, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The first time I heard of it was actually in Muse (magazine). It was in a letter regarding the riddle, which is by Lewis Carroll. I've seen it a few times since then. Do you know the proof for .999... = 1? Hint: we've got a featured article on it. Reywas92Talk 21:14, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I'm the trivia type of person, and I love random questions! Since I stumbled across your userpage, I've watched it waiting for a new one. Happy editing! Reywas92Talk 20:09, 19 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let me try... 0.999...=9*Failed to parse (unknown function "\infinity"): {\displaystyle \Sigmai=1\infinity10-k} and by sandwich theorem the series converges to 1/9. 9*1/9=1. 68.122.222.231 (talk) 21:32, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Monobook

[edit]

A monobook is where you add scripts (tools to help with Wikipedia, essentially), which are developed by people who know how to make scripts. See Wikipedia:Monobook for a more accurate explanation. Singularity 02:26, 22 September 2007 (UTC) [reply]

Question

[edit]

Hello, I think I may have answered your question on your userpage. Is it still OK to enter, even though somebody already has?

Since x - y = 0, the third step (x-y)/(x-y) = 0/(x-y) is really 0 / 0 = 0 / 0.

You can't ever, ever divide anything by zero, and lots of people know that you can do anything with maths when you divide by zero. It's funny that some people have 'proven' that 1+1 = 1 through dividing by zero. Here is some more proof that you can't divide by zero: [2].

Thanks! I am going to put your userpage on my watchlist as I want to increase my tally. Set a new one soon! Auroranorth 12:31, 20 October 2007 (UTC) [reply]
