      • It looks like some other user also added to this page... and give new people who understand the wiki but still are learning the coding style a chance, will you. And please know the distinction between an "nn" and a "published designer" - which all listed on this list ARE!!! And AFD is not needed.

addition is similar to what it says on this page

Criteria for inclusion of biographies

Notable actors and television personalities who have appeared in well-known films or television productions. Notability can be determined by: - Multiple features in popular culture publications such as Vogue, GQ, Elle, FHM or national newspapers - A large fan base, fan listing or "cult" following - An independent biography - Name recognition - Commercial endorsements

I was intending list of designers on the following basis:

- The designer has published multiple designs themselves, in magazines, etc. The designer as "published designer" can be verified by finding their website, by patterns for sale in shops, by book inclusions, and by third-party verification of independent persons. - The designer has a large fan base, e.g. many hundreds or thousands of people who have stitched a design, or a "cult following" which can be identified. - An independent biography, if they are quoted on other designers' websites, in magazines or on magazine websites. - Name recognition through sales. - Commercial endorsement, this can be through membership of industry-related organisations.

I am a designer in this $3 billion field, and there are thousands of designers who design by self-publishing, by publishing through publishing companies such as Leisure Arts, publish in books, publish in magazines (I have had one of my designs in a magazine).

Just because someone is not known to YOU (the fellow editor) doesn't mean they are not notable. Many designers don't have websites or sell via places like Leisure Arts without listing their name, but that does not make them less notable. They are all notable because they are the BACKBONE of a $3 billion+ industry. Without designers such companies as Zweigart or DMC wouldn't sell ANY threads or fabrics!!! Just remember THAT before deleting a valuable list like this.

P.S. I WORK in this industry so I am capable of finding out who is who, etc. And I am NOT a newby who is ignorant to how the Wiki works. I got Wikimedia GNU software installed and use it on DAILY basis for my organisation's information in an orderly way; the only thing I may be still a beginner about is the more complex tagging used on this wiki.
