Orphaned non-free image (Image:Parasitic Pal.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Parasitic Pal.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:25, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Commander Hoohaw.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Commander Hoohaw.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:29, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. If I delete an image there's usually a good reason for it and simply re-uploading said image isn't a particularly productive approach. In this case, the deletion was of a copyrighted image of a famous-ish living person of whom it would be possible to create a free (non-copyrighted) alternative. Please review WP:NFCC #1 which forbids this, and unfortunately vague statements along the lines of "he doesn't mind" don't really cut it. If you have any questions about WP:NFCC and/or the larger WP:NONFREE, please just ask. – Steel 22:33, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Duplicate images uploaded
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Martial Law 911.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:11.jpg. The copy called Image:11.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 23:29, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Cleveland Daily Banner
[edit]A tag has been placed on Cleveland Daily Banner requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Huntster T • @ • C 11:36, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Omaha-related PROD tags
[edit]Hey, since you just had a field day with the articles on ethnicities in Omaha, I thought you better know about the other three you didn't tag. Only I wouldn't bother using the prod tag; just bring them to AfD, because I will contest each one. Check here, here and here. Thanks. • Freechild'sup? 20:54, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for informing me about Greeks in Omaha, Nebraska and Mexicans in Omaha, as for African Americans in Omaha I thought that was an okay article due to its style and length as opposed to the others, but I'll go ahead and try. Noah¢s (Talk) 21:00, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Regarding the Camp Lazlo template
[edit]1. Please see the talk page 2. I consider the Camp Lazlo template to be not-so-controversial, so it was okay for me to make a change like that. Now that the change is disputed, we will take it to talk :) WhisperToMe (talk) 02:09, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
We have discussed on the Template_talk:Camp_Lazlo talk page and Treelo agreed with me that the various character links which go to "Camp Lazlo characters" should be removed. WhisperToMe (talk) 16:23, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
Template:Non-free promotional discussion
[edit]Hello, Noahcs. Since you recently contributed to the lively deletion discussion for Template:Non-free promotional, I thought I'd let you know that I've continued the discussion about this template at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content#Template:Non-free promotional. The result of the deletion discussion was to keep the template, but there are still some questions about whether the current template serves a useful purpose and how to prevent its misapplication. Please contribute to the discussion if you are interested. —Bkell (talk) 17:53, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
