A tag has been placed on Angie Elizabeth Brooksby requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 20:22, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain the nomination for Speedy Deletion. Noakk There are other artists and critiques that are not present on Wikipedia that I will be writing about, will they all be imediately deleted? What is your motivation for the speedy request Noakk (talk) 20:42, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have chosen this person to begin my wikipedia experience of contribution and feel that the request of speedy deletion was an automated response without reading the article. Noakk (talk) 20:47, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The person who nominated you article for speedy deletion did so on the basis that there was no credible claim of notability. See WP:CSD and specifically category a7. See WP:BIO and particularly the section WP:ARTIST for guidelines as to what constitutes "notability" in Wikipedia for "creative professionals." From my perspective, the article reads like a resumé written by the subject or someone close to her, but maybe you are simply a fan. It sounds a bit spammy and does not really seem to have a neutral point of view. It is not well referenced. Not every working artist meets the notability guidelines. If articles have been written about them, if their work is in the permanent collections of several notable galleries or museums, if they have won critical attention, that should be documented in the article. It needs multiple independent and reliable sources which have significant coverage of the subject. If a credible claim of notability is made, then speedy deletion is not the correct route, and slower methods such as WP:PROD or WP:AFD would be appropriate. If you think you can find and add the needed references, then you can add an {{under construction}} template at the top of the article. Your comments arguing against speedy deletion should go on the talk page, not in the text of the article. Edison (talk) 20:57, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried to delete the poorly or unsourced material and added some sources. Can someone please help. I beleive that this artist is of notability. This is my first article, others will follow. Noakk (talk) 05:45, 22 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
