A tag has been placed on Suwannee room requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Nolediners. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. McGeddon (talk) 20:12, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. RickinBaltimore (talk) 20:13, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand that I have been blocked due to my account been identified to be used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and that my previous username indicated an account for a business or other organization or group. I would like to create a page on Suwannee Hall, which is a historical diner located in the Florida State University. The page will contain a background on the establishment, the food they offer and notable staff who had been working in the establishment for over twenty years. The intention of this page is solely for a school project for the class of ENC 4404. It is for educational purposes on how to edit in wikipedia

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Huon (talk) 21:40, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please note that we have policies on what sort of content can be included in the encyclopedia. Unless you can demonstrate the notability of the Suwannee Hall, it's likely that the article will be quickly deleted. Would you be willing to start the article at Draft:Suwannee Hall and submit it through our WP:AfC process to ensure it meets the inclusion criteria? If so, I'll unblock you so that you can change your username and continue editing. ~ Rob13Talk 04:14, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi. Just want to let you know that we are not able to rename accounts at the moment while there are some technical changes being made to the database. Renaming should be available again on Nov 27, so if you put your request in as directed above, you'll be renamed as soon as possible. Feel free to ping me on the 27th or later, and I'll do it for you if it isn't already done. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 21:45, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
