This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Tall Timbers Plantation (Florida), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Tall Timbers Research Station and Land Conservancy. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hi Noles! I've just looked at this site, after quite a few months, and noticed that you had added a Fact Box. Basically, I hate most info boxes because they do to articles exactly what that box has done to that article- they wreck any semblance of decent layout. Having two boxes that are side by side with a gap between which varies dependant on ones monitor is ugly. Having two boxes with different colours and different widths side by side is ugly. Sticking a box under a heading in such a way that it has a big gap beside it is ugly. An article...any article, that is to be presented to the public needs to look good as welll as convey meaning.. If it looks bad enough, then it distracts from the meaning.

I don't know who designed the box. But I observe that they have been put into place in other articles about dogs as well. If I had the skills to design that box, given that a box already exists in this and many similar articles, I would have tried to make the boxes the same proportion and make it possible for one to fit directly bbeneath the other, or even merge information. Neither of these things appear to be possible, or if they are, it can't be done simply.

I have reduced the width of the newer box, annd tried to move it right so that it fits neatly beneath thhe other one, but it won't. It is anchored to the left and I have no idea how to change it.

If you created the box, can you fix it please?

Re: Curiosity quotient

[edit]

Hello Noles1984. Thanks for the question. This is often misunderstood, (I made this same mistake). "What Links here" are links of pages that have links to the Curiosity quotient article. For example , if you will check what links here now on that article it will say (along with everything else) "User talk:Noles1984". That is the reason the article is orphaned. You do have some good links to other articles though. Ohmpandya (Talk to Me...) 15:08, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You did quite a nice job on the article. Unfortunately, to add links to the article, you will need to find articles (other ones) that have something to do with Curiosity quotient, and links from there. (You will have to write a little about how they connect). However if Curiosity quotient is already there, but it is not linked, (it does not have [[ or ]] surrounding Curiosity quotient, then you can simply add the brackets around it, and it will ad a link. Until then the article is orphaned. Feel free to ask other questions. Ohmpandya (Talk to Me...) 15:28, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Just a minor Q

[edit]

Hello Noles. Well, if you want to link some internal links, your are right some words that have nothing to do whatsoever with the article could "damage" it. That's the reason you only should put internal links that have something to do with the article. Ohmpandya (Talk to Me...) 16:36, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Magnolia Florida Drawing rc05085.jpg. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 16:32, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canids

[edit]

I looked at a few of your articles on extinct canids and I am afraid that there are some problems with them. It appears you are using the Paleobiology Database as your main source. This site, while providing a great portal to paleontological literature, often suffers from confused taxonomy (for example, in the genus Canis, it lists "Canis alopex Linnaeus, 1758" and "Canis hyaena Linnaeus, 1758, but those species are not recognized by anyone under those names anymore). I would advise you to have a look at the scientific literature (for example, through a Google Scholar search) on each species before writing an article on it. On North American canids specifically, this paper is great. Thanks, Ucucha 22:58, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ruminants

[edit]

I noticed that most of your contributions on extinct families/genera of ungulates contains quite some spelling and grammar errors (while some of your sentences are actualy quite un-readable). Although this can hardly be called a crime in itself (I am certainly not free of spelling and grammar errors myself, as English is not my native language), it does provide a problem because of the great number of articles that has been edited in this way! Don't get me wrong: I'm not blaming you of writing too much content (which would be, of course, a rather strange thing to do on Wikipedia - the more content people write, the sooner Wikipedia will become the universal collection of all human knowledge). However, it may be a good idea to better check your content before posting it - and certainly before you copy-paste the text into other articles.

Besides these spelling/grammar issues, there is another (more serious) problem I encountered in some (certainly not all!) of your contributions on extinct taxa. Some of the statements you provide, are based on seriously outdated source(s)! And, last but not least, it seems that you don't always follow the rules that apply to taxoboxes! E.g. when the taxobox contains a list of genera at the bottom, it should contain only genera and not (for example) disused subfamilies!

I'm sorry for this, perhaps rather unfriendly, message - I did not intend to be rude. However, as an autist I sometimes lack the ability to express my emotions and opinions correctly - I have often been misunderstood ;) And perhaps I'm just not having my day and the problems I accountered in your contributions are actualy not as severe as I thought.
