October 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello. You recently removed a Biographies of Living Persons PROD, from Jennifer Chan (musician), and I wanted to let you know that it has been replaced. Please don't remove these Biographies of Living Persons PRODs from articles unless they contain at least one reliable source or were created before 18 March 2010. If you oppose the deletion of an article under this process, please consider adding reliable sources to the article or commenting at the respective talk page. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 02:07, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Excuse me, the first source, Apple Daily, does explicitly name the person in question as a radio personality from the 80s. Just because you don't understand the language doesn't mean it's not there. Also, you may refer to the wiki page on Hong Kong Movie Database regarding its reliability. Noveltykid (talk) 02:23, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Where in the Apple Daily article does it mention her?
I must also respectfully disagree about HKMDB: there's nothing on the website about editorial policy. It's a useful website like IMDB, but not sufficient as the sole source of a WP:BLP. Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 02:34, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please do a simple Ctrl+F on her Chinese name, "陳漢詩". I will actually remove the reference to HKMDB as I've decided it's unnecessary. Noveltykid (talk) 02:47, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, 陳漢詩 is mentioned briefly, but the given name is not "Jennifer". Wikishovel (talk) 03:00, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Jennifer is her name in English. This is a Chinese article from a Chinese newspaper, which is why they refer to her by her name in Chinese and not English. Noveltykid (talk) 03:02, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove Biographies of Living Persons PRODs from articles, as you did with Jennifer Chan (musician), unless reliable sources have been provided. You are, however, welcome to comment about the proposed deletion on the respective talk page instead. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 02:30, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue removing Biographies of Living Persons PRODs without addressing the issue, as you did with Jennifer Chan (musician), you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Wikishovel (talk) 02:41, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Again, just because you can't read Chinese doesn't mean the info isn't there. Apple Daily is a major newspaper in Hong Kong and is a reasonably reliable source for citation. Noveltykid (talk) 03:00, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fine, we're done quibbling about this. I'll take it to AFD instead, because there's almost nothing about her online in WP:Reliable sources, in English or Chinese.Wikishovel (talk) 03:06, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Apple Daily is a major newspaper in Hong Kong, and what I've cited was a simple statement of fact - that she entered a competition, and was a known radio personality. And I see you are now arguing for low notability instead, good work! Noveltykid (talk) 03:40, 31 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
