Welcome
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I came across the page on Melnikov distance that you wrote. Many thanks for that. There are quite a number of mathematicians here, who gather at WikiProject Mathematics. You may be interested in the associated talk page (a good place if you have a specialized question when editing mathematical articles here), our list of editor resources (full of general advice for mathematics editing), and our list of participants (just a list of people have declared an interest in editing maths articles; feel free to add yourself).
Most importantly, do enjoy yourself here. I hope to see some more contributions from you on our articles in Dynamical Systems, many of which could use some attention. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 03:16, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Dunford-Pettis property
[edit]A tag has been placed on Dunford-Pettis property requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. AngelOfSadness talk 02:35, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- This has been resolved; the article still exists. Npkswami, it would have helped if you had added a reference to the article, though to be honest, I think the article was tagged for deletion rather hastily. -- Jitse Niesen (talk) 11:12, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for your contribution. There seems to be at least some conceptual overlap with data binning. What do you think? Regards, Btyner (talk) 01:34, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
[edit]Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer be able to have them marked as minor by default. For more information on what a minor edit is, see WP:MINOR or feel to get in touch.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:55, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
