I think you have a very good start on this article, but there are some areas for improvement. First of all, EAppiah, your introduction belongs at the beginning, not in a separate section below the table of contents. Just work what you have written into the existing introduction paragraph. The Musical/vocal styles, might be renamed Genres. Also, can you find a better way to fit the existing information on the various countries into your article? For example, a major section called Music by region, with the countries and Tuareg listed as subheadings. Check over the existing external links. Some are not encyclopedic and there might be one or two better ones to add. In your references, I see many websites, but few encyclopedia or journal articles. Please work these in. Also, when you use a link to website as a reference, be sure to add a brief description of it. I'll provide a link below to an automatic reference generator. Other things to do:

  • Remove your signatures from the article itself. (You only need to sign your comments on talk pages).
  • Wikify the text (that is, put in appropriate links to other wikipedia articles. See WP:LINK for details)
  • Put in references. WP:CITE has general information about how to do it. Here http://toolserver.org/~magnus/makeref.php is a link to an online reference template generator. Enter the details of the reference and it will output the correct wikicode to paste into the article.
  • External links? Images? See WP:FIT.

You can use this section to discuss your changes. Nposs (talk) 15:43, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
