Hello, the Syrian Turkmen article has scientific reports, resources, publications and news reports from world-class instituitons and broadcasters to local-scale ones and are from 4-5 different languages. Turks in Algeria

I had to clarify the situation about the turks in Algeria with 2 or 3 citations I hope you'll respect what every books on the matter say, there's a clear consensus from academic and non academic work. I let some others estimates that seem belivable even if they're not really backed up by any survey or demographic work, and that the website that are quoted doesn't even work (...). The 5% for Oxford group seem ok to me, even if the anatolian-balkanites are arabized today and are considered arabs, same with arab-speaking sub-saharians.

I hope you udnerstand my modification, and i'm ready to discuss if there's a problem.

Hi there, thank you for your message. The problem with your edits is that it is Original Research (see Wikipedia:No original research). In your edits you have written "0% Turkish" but none of your sources actually say "0% Turkish". You need to provide sources which provide information on the Turkish population, not the Arab-Berber population. Because you are making your own conclusions which goes against the rules of Wikipedia. Please not that Wikipedia rules state the following: "This [Original Research] includes any analysis or synthesis of published material that serves to reach or imply a conclusion not stated by the sources. To demonstrate that you are not adding OR, you must be able to cite reliable, published sources that are directly related to the topic of the article, and directly support the material being presented."

Moreover, I am also concerned about how you have treated some of the sources. For example, you have used the Sputnik News source and written "2% (760,000)" in the info box; however, this source actually says "Çeşitli kaynaklara göre, Türklerin Cezayir nüfusundaki oranı yüzde 5 ile yüzde 25 arasında değişiyor." and then it goes on to say "2014 nüfus sayımlarında çıkan 38 milyon kişilik sonuç baz alındığında, 760 bin ile 9,5 milyon arasında bir Türk azınlıktan söz etmek mümkün." (translation: According to various sources, the proportion of Turks in the Algerian population varies between 5 percent and 25 percent...Based on the results of 38 million people in the 2014 census, it is possible to talk about a Turkish minority between 760 thousand and 9.5 million." You did not write in the info box that this source suggests a population of up to 9.5 million (including partial origin). Why not? O.celebi (talk) 12:29, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

I removed the "0% turkish" (even if it seem to be a logical deduction to me), I let the cross-datas of the regular/usual ethnic informations about Algeria to make a comparaison with the one info from the turkish author of 1953. Is this better this way?

Thank you for taking on Wikipedia's rules into consideration. I have removed the excessive use of citations (see Wikipedia:Citation overkill which states "If a page features citations that are mirror pages of others, or which simply parrot the other sources, they contribute nothing to the article's reliability and are detrimental to its readability.") The 2017 edition of the World Factbook is sufficient. I have also placed the U.S. Department of State report regarding the ethnic composition.

In regards to the Turkish author, this is pretty clear in the "population" section of the article, as well as by looking at the footnote itself. As previously mentioned, Sputnik also suggests 5-25%. O.celebi (talk) 11:13, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

About the ""Algeria's population, [is] a mixture of Arab, Berber, and Turkish in origin" => What about the Algerian jews and the Algerian sub-saharian? They always represented a big part of the Algerian population, I don't understand how the Department of State could forget historical populations like that.. Edit warring at Turkish people

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war.
