Speedy deletion of Everett gendler[edit]

A tag has been placed on Everett gendler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 05:10, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I've looked and I've determined that the article was not eligible for speedy, due to coverage in reliable sources (the USA Today, for instance), and because I believe that being described as the "father of Jewish environmentalism" is a good enough claim to notability. Please have a look at how the article is cited, and continue expanding it. Happy editing! Lankiveil (speak to me) 05:40, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No mate, that was the correct place to put it (you should use the "new section" tab instead of "edit this page" on discussion pages like that though when starting a new topic of discussion). Article rescue is all part of the service, if you need any help with markup or whatnot when expanding the article please feel free to drop me a line. As far as images go, I'd suggest having a read of Help:Images and other uploaded files. Note that those images you linked to on my talk page are probably not suitable for inclusion, as they are copyrighted. If you still need help adding the image to the article after you've uploaded it, please let me know. Lankiveil (speak to me) 07:54, 13 August 2008 (UTC).[reply]
