Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2016 in Sri Lanka, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daily News. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi, let me explain. The population of Tamil Nadu is 72,147,030 according to 2011 census of India (http://www.census2011.co.in/census/state/tamil+nadu.html), 60,793,814 is the data of Tamil Nadu in 2001. I have ignored the Tamil population in Pondicherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar islands and rest of the India. The recent Malaysian Tamil population is 1,743,922 (https://www.sublet.com/information/malaysia.asp). — Preceding unsigned comment added by M.K.Dan (talkcontribs) 14:18, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

I have responded here.--obi2canibetalk contr 14:46, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
You can try to add citation than changing it completely, there are numerous wikis without citation. There are wikis where the numbers are over counted. The source https://www.sublet.com/information/malaysia.asp doesn't have any data for Telugu people and it has mentioned 500,000 in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telugu_diaspora. So just try to change the information and add citation, instead of changing it completely. — Preceding unsigned comment added by M.K.Dan (talkcontribs) 15:49, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
The fact that other articles are unsourced/incorrect is not an excuse for providing inaccurate, misleading, unsourced numbers on Tamil population by nation.--obi2canibetalk contr 09:31, 22 May 2016 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of political parties in Sri Lanka may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Please keep an eye on the Waitialingam Duraiswamy page.

Hi Obi2canibe

Vanakkam. I want you to look at the Waitialingam Duraiswamy page. There is a new editor - Ceyonriser who started on August 11. S/he has had only two contributions and that pertains to one S. Thangarajah, alleged son-in-law of Duraiswamy. S/he cites material, all published on August 11. I think this is a prima facie case of conflict of interest. As a sudden and recent contributor,s/he appears to have a close connection with Thangarajah. I have twice reverted his/her edits as it may need to comply with Wikipedia's content policies, particularly neutral point of view. Please keep an eye on the page. Thank you. I do not think we should have son-in-laws referenced in biography pages when other in-laws are not featured. Lets stick to the main individual whose biography is being covered. Perhaps a separate entry on Thangarajah - allegedly founding Secretary General of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in 1956 might be relevant. Dipendra2007 (talk) 16:47, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

The 2016 Data for GDP is sourced from the existing source. Please undo my revert. --Eng. M.Bandara-Talk 11:56, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

Your figures were two year old estimates for 2016 - I have now provided the latest estimates for 2016.--obi2canibetalk contr 10:24, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Adhil Bakeer Markar

Was wondering if you could cast your eyes over my comments at Talk:Adhil Bakeer Markar. Am considering nominating the article for deletion but was thinking a second opinion wouldn't hurt. It would appear the only coverage is in respect to his death and the reason it appears in the news is due to who his father/grandfather is. Dan arndt (talk) 14:31, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

@Dan arndt: That's spooky, I'm just in the process of preparing an Afd for the article! You can comment when I'm done.--obi2canibetalk contr 14:34, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

New Page Reviewer granted

Hello Obi2canibe. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria.

  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator.

information Administrator note You have been grandfathered to this group based on prior patrolling activity - the technical flag for the group will be added to your account after the next software update. You do not need to apply at WP:PERM. 20:56, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

Your revert on A. Coomaraswamy

Your edit restored a template error. I've had to revert your change. See Category:Pages using death year and age template with unknown parameters for more information.--Auric talk 19:12, 30 October 2016 (UTC)

@Auric: Sorry, the 7 before the template threw me, I've corrected.--obi2canibetalk contr 14:59, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
