A tag has been placed on Enkay Ogboruche, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. – Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 03:10, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ogeode - I've noticed that many of your recent additions have two problems. One is that they are often overly promotional (what we call"puffery". The more serious problem is that, in many cases, you are using exactly the same words as are used in the reference sources that you are using to support your edits. The original publishers of those words/sentences/phrases own a copyright on their words, and repeating their words so exactly is against the terms of use of Wikipedia projects. More information is available at Wikipedia:Copyright violations. I have reverted some of your edits that had obvious copyright violations. In some cases, it is quite possible for you to write a different sentence that conveys the same information in a different way. As an example, you can see the edit I made to the article Ibrahim Gusau based on the reference source you used.

I have moved the article you drafted on Enkay Ogboruche to Draft:Enkay Ogboruche so that you can work on it further and try to make it read in a way that is less promotional, instead of deleting the article. The musician does seem to meet our notability requirements, at least on first look, so I think you may have a chance at turning this into an article that will not raise issues.

I hope you will find this helpful. English Wikipedia does need more articles and information about people, places, and processes in Nigeria and other countries, so I hope you will continue to edit, keeping these ideas in mind. Risker (talk) 04:09, 18 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Risker. I must admit that I wrote my first article in a hurry. Thank you though for seeing potential in it. I have amended it and written in my own words. I have read more of the guidelines and understand more now. Please review it for me. Thanks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Enkay_Ogboruche (Ogeode (talk) 10:47, 24 July 2019 (UTC)).[reply]
Hi Ogeode. I'm not the person you were addressing, but I have Draft:Enkay Ogboruche on my watchlist and still notice some issues with the page. You've done well to add external references. However, much of the article is still unsourced, and some of the sources are not what Wikipedia considers to be reliable. The website MyBioHub, for instance, appears to allow user-generated content, which is not acceptable for sources on Wikipedia. Enkay's own website and the two YouTube videos are also not suitable as sources. Can you find any more independent sources to support the draft content? The news article you added from Vanguard is an excellent example. Some particularly important content to reference is Enkay's date of birth and her birth place. Currently the article contradicts itself: in the infobox you say she is from Imo State but in the article text you say she is from Kaduna State. The sections on her education and church life are also lacking sources. Let me know if you have any questions on how to resolve these issues. – Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 16:05, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Lord Bolingbroke, Thanks for your guidance. I followed your advice and made adjustments. Kindly help me review it again. About her place of birth and where she is from, in Nigeria, where you were born is not where you are from. Where we are from is attributed to our tribe, where father is from. So her tribe is from the South Eastern part of Nigeria, that is Imo/Abia State. But when she was born, her parents lived in Kaduna (in the north). What will be a good way to present this please? Should I remove the place of birth entirely? Ogeode (talk) 14:11, 1 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Uziel302 was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Only single PR article about the man. All other links are mentioning him/his activities as part of other story.
