Protection request response

This is about Talk:Black hole

I did that because to avoid vandalism, didn't you read it. — 73.47.37.131 (talk) 23:39, 31 July 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:183:4000:D5BD:CC62:66BD:AC4A:D8C9 (talk)

  • Are you saying that the page should be protected so others can't vandalize it? The template {{tl}edit fully-protected}} isn't for requesting that we protect a page. It's for when you would like to make an edit, but you can't because the page is protected. If you think a page should be protected from editing, you can make a request at requests for page protection. But, in this case, your request will almost certainly be denied. We don't apply page protection unless pages actually need it, and Black Hole has seen very little vandalism, so it doesn't need protection. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 23:45, 31 July 2015 (UTC)
If the page is vandalized it will be reverted rather quickly. At this point there is not enough disruptive forms of editing to issue any sort of page protection.-- Dspradau → talk  00:32, 1 August 2015 (UTC)

Global user page migration

Hello Oiyarbepsy. You asked me to delete your local user pages on all wikis via m:Synchbot, but you don't have any. Your m:global user page is already active and you don't need to do anything to activate it. :) —Pathoschild 16:45, 02 August 2015 (UTC)

Christopher Drew (reporter)

Hi Oiyarbepsy, could you please see Talk:Christopher Drew, and I hope you will please do as I request there and copy-paste a draft article into place. This comes up because of technical disambiguation rules which you are probably not familiar with (and there's no need for you or most people to be familiar with them), and the fact that I have a ban in place preventing me from starting an article in mainspace. I explain it out some there. You don't have to read it in detail or accept my reasoning about what was right and wrong, though I am happy to explain/discuss it further with you. If you could just do the favor and start the article, that will settle this. Thanks, --doncram 14:51, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Never mind, i created Draft:Christopher Drew (investigative reporter) and submitted that for approval. --doncram 15:17, 6 August 2015 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Pseudomonas aeruginosa Mannose Sensitive Hemagglutinin

The article Pseudomonas aeruginosa Mannose Sensitive Hemagglutinin has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not sure if this a notable drug or possibly just a merger to Pseudomonas infection.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Flow testing

I understand why you edited my post on the Flow test page, and I'm fine with that. I used the content I did because the topic was Lila referring to her own pages as "a simple discussion board". I was examining Flow support for that exact use case. In real world use, how does Flow handle the kind of content that gets posted on Lila's "simple discussion board"? In fact your accidental participation emphasized the outcome of the test. Flow did not properly support that content (the images should have been hidden). That Flow failure was potentially disruptive. To fix the problem you needed to completely *DELETE* the content from Flow.

Now I'm seeing extremely puzzling Flow behavior. I need to test how Flow handles a revert of your edit. Flow doesn't support edit summaries, so couldn't squeeze a note in there. I just wanted to let you know that I'm not fighting you or anything, we're good. It is a Flow testing board, and I need to test Flow. Alsee (talk) 17:40, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Well, you don't have to worry about the images. Flow mangled the revert?!?! WTF. The images are gone. Alsee (talk) 18:01, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Hollinwood fc speedy deletion discussion at WT:CSD

WT:CSD is and always has been for general policy discussion on the speedy deletion criteria, how they should be interpreted and especially whether to add new ones or modify existing ones. I have been reading and posting there regularly since at least 2006 and it has never been the place to contest individual deletions or deletion tags. That can now be done at 1) the talk page of the deleting admin; 2) WP:REFUND; or 3) deletion review. These options should be tried in that order. While the general question of what makes something an A7 candidate could be discussed at WT:CSD, it is my view that a claim that a) is specifically excluded by a subject-specific notability guideline, and b) doesn't give any probable indications of wider notability, would not be accepted as a credible claim of significance, although I could be wrong about that. Double double R cats R cats

I wonder why these distinct templates generate the same boilerplate?

{{R from birth name}} {{R to married name}}

Checkingfax (talk) 03:18, 1 October 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. But, IMHO opinion the boilerplate is pointing the wrong way and probably my redirect is miscategorized. For instance, Kris Houghton becomes Kris Kardashian becomes Kris Jenner. A Kristen Mary Jenner article redirected to Kris Jenner is an {{R from longer name}} and it is an {{R to married name}}. They should not sort in to the same category, IMHO. We are allowed up to seven R sorts per sorted redirect.
Here is what the {{R to married name}} boilerplate looks like (snipped):
  • This is a redirect from a person's birth name (née or né) to a more common name or a related topic. For more information follow the bold category link.
    • Use this rcat to tag mainspace redirects when the title matches the subject's name given to them at birth. If the redirect is a personal name that differs from the birth name, then use {{R from personal name}} instead.

The boilerplate above uses the word "from" instead of the expected word "to". It also states that Jenner is her birth name which it is not. The 2nd bullet point is confusing to in context. Thank you for being a Page Patroller. Checkingfax (talk) 17:17, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

Please undo Speedy deletion Tag Removal

Hello Oiyarbepsy Now i found that you removed the speedy deletion tag of Viswant. Please go through the references within the article, the references didn't even states any significance about the article.

Here's the fourth reference that i found on the article, [1] I cannot even see any mentioning about Viswant within it. Also the first reference is only a Youtube link, i don't know how it is significant. The 3rd reference also embed that video within it. The 2nd reference noted is only from a website that cannot be trusted, it found to be a gossip type. Hope you'll undo your action and delete Viswant article from Wikipedia. References

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Beck Hall, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Billingford, Norfolk. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
