Creating an article[edit]

Oscar,

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you have not already done so, please look at Help:Your first article. Using the article wizard should help you through the process of writing an article. I know that finding reliable sources can be a struggle when writing about people whose fame and significance is geographically or culturally restricted, but I urge you to search for multiple sources to use in writing biographies. As you mention BLP, I presume you have looked at those requirements. Please avoid the temptation to include things you know about, but cannot find in reliable sources.

As for photos, while illustrations enhance an article, many articles do not have any. If you do find images that you believe should be in the article, then make sure they conform with Wikipedia's image use policy. Images that are in the public domain or are freely licensed should be uploaded to Commons. Commons:Welcome provides an introduction to that process. If you want to use an image that is not in the public domain and is not freely licensed, then you should ask for help for that image.

You mention an interest in Floridians of Caribbean descent. As it happens, my interest in editing on subjects connected to the Bahamas derives from my grandfather (a Bahamian Conch). I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. - Donald Albury 20:41, 12 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Leona H. Cooper[edit]

Just stumbled across this person. As I have a list of articles to work on, but haven't been doing much editing recently, I'll just leave this information with you, in case you are interested.

An article about Leona may have trouble meeting the requirements of Wikipedia:Notability (people). The best shot for meeting that requirment may be her receiving the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice award. - Donald Albury 16:16, 13 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
