Linn Ullmann page[edit]

Dear Oktober1, I have reverted your edits because they removed important information such as Ullmann's birth name, birth date and her parents' names, as well as Wikipedia links to other Linn Ullmann articles in other languages (German, Spanish, Norwegian, etc.) and Wikipedia categories, such as her listings as a Norwegian journalist and writer and as an alumna of New York University. You also removed the section that lists cited references.

However, you added very important new information such as information about Ullmann's awards and links to news articles. This information can be added to the article but not replacing existing information.

Wikipedia works as a collaborative writing effort and follows certain rules, such as allowing only notable articles, needing to support the information with verifiable, reliable secondary sources, and following guidelines for biographies of living persons.

If someone, such as yourself, has a conflict of interest, there are additional guidelines, the most important of which is to maintain a neutral point of view. There is also a question of writing style, because articles need to be encyclopedic in style rather than in a promotional style or using inflated wording.

With all of that said, I encourage you to edit the Linn Ullmann article by adding the new information. If existing information is incorrect, then it should be corrected. But I wouldn't encourage removing the existing information. As time permits, I will also try to include some of the information you have provided. --EPadmirateur (talk) 16:36, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
