move procedure

[edit]

I noticed your redirect of Pope John Paul II Park to the more complete Pope John Paul II Park Reservation which you developed. Just to let you know, the correct procedure would be to "move" the previously existing article to a new name, then develop further at the new name. That would put a redirect from the old to new name, and it would preserve the edit history in the article, together. And it would also move the Talk page of the article. Moves should not be done by creating new article at target and cut-and-pasting from the old article name. In this case, there were only 3 prior edits in the main article's history and I don't care so much, but the way this was done did lose that edit history. And it lost some content, namely the better formed footnote in the version i had created. I put that into the current article, though. By the way, there is a helpful service, Requested Moves, at wp:RM, where you can request administrators' assistance in implementing moves and in re-combining edit histories. For any article moves that might be disputed, you should think about posting there to get other views. Hope this is helpful. doncram (talk) 15:43, 17 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Pearl Hill State Park, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.mass.info/townsend.ma/parks/pearl_hill_state_park.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
