Please slow down

It would be incredibly useful if you made these requests for changes on the FAC page for Aggie Bonfire. While your efforts are appreciated, they are causing problems addressing issues brought forth by other editors and are creating more problems with the article that we are having to go back and fix. No one is saying you can't make changes, only that we request that you hold off on them for a little while or make contributions to the FAC page (see the talk page for a link)— BQZip01 — talk 20:43, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the Congrats!

What next? Personally, I'd like to do the Corps. Any ideas for revamping the layout? — BQZip01 — talk 22:11, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Howdy

Howdy! How's it going? Here's a good source I found on TexAgs... [1] It might be useful for the SL article. Can it possibly fit in the main article? BlueAg09 (Talk) 23:52, 3 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:TAMI Seal2.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:TAMI Seal2.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:07, 11 September 2007 (UTC)

RFC/USER discussion concerning (ThreeE)

Hello, Oldag07. Please be aware that a request for comments has been filed concerning ThreeE's conduct on Wikipedia. The RFC entry can be found by "ThreeE" in this list, and the actual discussion can be found at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/ThreeE, where I would appreciate your participation and comments. — BQZip01 — talk 12:07, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Adding image to Commons page

Transformers Movie

Interesting you asked that. No, it wasn't me. However, the AC-130 footage has an interesting story behind it. I was on Group staff when a request for some time to video the AC-130 at Holloman AFB was given to us on a Monday. The catch? They wanted to shoot on Thursday. Fortunately, we had some guys flying from Hurlburt Field, Florida to Nellis AFB, Nevada on Friday and we only needed 2 things:

  1. alter the flightplan to leave a day earlier
  2. get permission in less than 24 hours.

The first one was a simple pen and ink change. The other required a memo which I personally wrote and hand-walked through the signature processes. A process that usually takes 4-8 weeks I took care of in 4 HOURS and voila! We had an AC-130 featured for the first time in a major motion picture! — BQZip01 — talk 05:29, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Good

Well I'm not seeing you much on Wiki or TA. Keep it up ;) BlueAg09 (Talk) 23:09, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello

You goof ball. stop teaching me wikipedia. it is ruining my life Thetalknessofn 18:58, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Howdy! I'm doing great. Finals are coming up, so I have been studying for those. The weather in CS has been fluctuating so far - some days it's cold, other days it's just fine with temp highs of 70. How's the job treating you these days? You're still keeping up with your word about Wiki and TA - I'm proud of you ;) By the way, whenever you get the chance, you should make this template look like this. BlueAg09 (Talk) 04:27, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
Howdy! I'm doing okay, but I've been so busy I haven't had a lot of time to work on Aggie-related articles. The Sully article seems to have steered me into a minor obsession with Texas history, so I'm trying to get that out of my system in my available wiki-time. Then I'll be able to refocus on A&M stuff. I've had several friends move away from Ohio in the last few years because they didn't like the cold, and it's got to be a lot harder for a Texas native. Good luck with the job and try to stay warm :) Karanacs 15:10, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

New Template

It looks great. Can the individual rows be made bigger though? BlueAg09 (Talk) 18:12, 17 December 2007 (UTC) (moved by Oldag07 for discussion purposes)

Not a big fan of it. I like the other one better. — BQZip01 — talk 04:39, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas to you too!! BlueAg09 (Talk) 20:18, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Since I missed the chance to wish you a Merry Christmas, here's to a Happy New Year! Karanacs (talk) 18:07, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

Image request

I would LOVE to edit the photo...however, my laptop decided to have issues and is currently being fixed/refurbished/replaced by the good folks at Best Buy/Geek Squad. Once I get it back, I'll be happy to do some tweaking. That said, feel free to edit it yourself if you want and upload it under a different name. I hope Coach Sherman brings back the fear opponents used to have when entering Kyle Field...Gig 'em. — BQZip01 — talk 05:48, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Looks fine to me. — BQZip01 — talk 13:50, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Campus expansion

It looks quite disjointed. I would recommend incorporating more of it into prose and less in lists. Second of all, I would incorporate the citations into references. Other than that, the information seems fine. — BQZip01 — talk 22:16, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

I agree with BQ. Here is another source that may help out. BlueAg09 (Talk) 19:45, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Uh oh

Well, I've decided to apply to join the dark side. As a user with whom I have interacted, I would appreciate your input on my nomination. This is not a request for support, though any support would be appreciated, but simply a request for feedback. — BQZip01 — talk 03:32, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

A barnstar for your work

The Running Man Barnstar
What a great idea to add a Glossary of Texas Aggie terms! I can see that it took a lot of work.

« D. Trebbien (talk) 04:27 2008 February 4 (UTC)

I certainly hope that it passes the AfD. Personally I am so frustrated with these things after having seen some good articles fall by the process. There are too many deletionists who patroll these slums of Wikipedia and I am sorry that one of them found Glossary of Texas Aggie terms.

From the outside looking in you can't understand it, and from the inside looking out you can't explain it. Johntex\talk 04:55, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

I think that the featured list status is a good idea, BUT I think your trimming took a lot out of the list and the context around each item. I recommend putting a lot of that back in, as long as it is sourced. — BQZip01 — talk 21:43, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I think the FLC process will weed most of it out. My thoughts: just put the stuff back in (being careful to screen for WP:NPOV) and just submit it. It doesn't mean we can't add/subtract from it later. — BQZip01 — talk 21:58, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that you informed several users about the FLC. This is generally discouraged because we like to see FLCs judged from a neutral point of view. -- Scorpion0422 06:02, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

These were the primary editors. Asking for assistance (especially when noted in the FLC) shouldn't be discouraged, but should be noted so weight can be placed on their opinions (mine included). I was unaware, before he posted it, that others had been contacted...but it was on my watchlist anyway and I was going to weigh in any how. — BQZip01 — talk 23:49, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Assistance request

I am in the middle of preparation for my first simulator ride and emergency procedures test with not a lot of time to complete preparations for either. I'll help where I can. Just do what you can for now. There shouldn't be a rush. If it doesn't succeed this time, simply make the requested changes and resubmit. There are no deadlines — BQZip01 — talk 23:49, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

New Aggie articles

Hi OldAg07. Sorry I haven't been any help with the Featured List stuff, but I'm not quite sure that it is ready and I've been really busy on other Wiki things at the moment. I noticed that you had created a lot of Aggie-related articles recently (especially music related), and I wanted to advise you to look for non-Aggie sources if at all possible. Aggie websites, brief mentions on websites like Carnegie Hall's and even a Battalion article may not be enough to establish notability properly, as those are not really independent sources. I'd hate to see all your hard work go to AfD, because it is never fun to fight those battles. Good luck, and thanks for all your hard work! Karanacs (talk) 16:29, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, I saw that you'd added links to the FTAB page and assumed you wrote the articles too. Thanks for helping clean them up, at least! Karanacs (talk) 19:19, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

I have nominated Category:Texas A&M University agencies (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at the discussion page. Thank you. Collectonian (talk) 18:30, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Please don't remove valid sources just because the URL quits working

A word to the wise: Please do not remove citations or information sourced through citations simply because a link to a source is not working, as you did to the federal government's Aggie Bonfire report in List of Texas Aggie terms (ref name="homeland"). Dead links should not be deleted. Instead, please repair or replace the link, if possible, and ensure properly sourced information is retained. Published documents are valid sources whether or not they are available online, and often a live substitute link can be found (as was the case with that Aggie Bonfire report). --Orlady (talk) 04:46, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Texas Peer Review

Texas just got promoted to GA, is now on a FA run, and it would be nice to have all the input we can get in our peer review. Thanks for the help.Oldag07 (talk) 15:42, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
