When not to use links

It is possible to create links to every word in an article. But providing too many defeats their purpose by obscuring the most relevant links. Here's an example of overlinking:

Wikipedia's greatness stems from being able to link articles together easily, but don't overdo it. It can get really annoying and does not help the reader.

The above passage hides the relevant link. Compare that with this:

Wikipedia's greatness stems from being able to link articles together easily, but don't overdo it. It can get really annoying and does not help the reader.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:MetaArcade Logo.png[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:MetaArcade Logo.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:03, 22 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

MetaArcade[edit]

Hi there. Welcome to Wikipedia. I've noticed some of your contributions and I need to ask what your relationship with the company MetaArcade is. Thanks very much. Canterbury Tail talk 21:23, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Thanks for the welcome. My daughter works for MetaArcade, so of course I've played their games, and was surprised they weren't mentioned on Wikipedia, so I added references to them on the Tunnels & Trolls and Call of Cthulhu pages, and then it seemed like I needed to create pages for the games which kind of necessitated a MetaArcade page and now I'm kind of sorry I started down this rabbit hole, because it's kind of a pain creating a decent Wikipedia page. I'm guessing there is some issue about who creates pages for companies, so let me know if I should be closer or further from the company to be contributing?
I recommend you take a look at the page WP:COI and have a read through it. Basically we often don't want people to close to a subject editing it as it can lead to a bias. Some people only want the positive and that sort of thing. So have a read through that page and let us all know if you have any questions. Canterbury Tail talk 01:34, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tunnels & Trolls Adventures moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Tunnels & Trolls Adventures, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  — Mr. Guye (talk) (contribs)  01:49, 7 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
