Acorn System BASIC

In this edit to Acorn System BASIC, you changed the line 20 $A="HELLO, WORLD" to $20 A="HELLO, WORLD" probably using some sort of automated script. This change was wrong, it is really supposed to be 20 $A="HELLO, WORLD". I have reverted the change and marked the corresponding text with the "typo" template. My Orphan pages

Hello Onel5969. thanks for review about My Articles. Appreciate that. but I'm so sad and tired because every thing I created will be orphan page. What can I do? Nothing. By the way this article: Mirza MehdiTehrani: Before that I saw this. I don't know this Article review yet (I'm member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Iran And wikiPedia:WikiProject Military History but this article maybe is not WP:ORPH more longer. Best. —Patricia (Talk) 11:39, 5 September 2023 (UTC)

First, thanks for your contributions. Second, there is nothing wrong with orphan pages. It is not a mark against the page, simply a tag to let other editors know that they might look for pages which could link. As an example, your article, Tomoso Nonaka. I quickly found a page to link to the article, his alma mater. Other times, you can do a search on the name, like I did with Josephine Lys, and found she was on the article, List of Spanish women writers, which Ipigott added. But keep up the good work. ESPN in the UK

Hi,

I have noticed that you are reverting some of my edit regarding me stating that as a result of BT and ESPN's 2-15 agreement regarding ESPN programming, BT Sport aired the programmes I mentioned.

Your initial objection was that I included this information as part of the reference. I therefore moved this to after the reference. However you have still reverted this edit and I do not accept your mainspace justification for still doing this. I want to avoid an edit war by asking you to please explain why you have again removed it after I took measures to address your concern.

I have reinstated this sentence and I would please ask you not to remove it again and instead allow a discussion to take place here.

Thank you in advance for your help and co-operation and I look forward to us finding a solution. Rillington (talk) 08:41, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi. I moved the discussion to the article's talk page, where I responded. Onel5969 TT me 08:56, 6 September 2023 (UTC)
That's fine - thank you for doing that. I mentioned it on your Talkpage so that I could draw this to your attention. I hope we can find a resolution.Rillington (talk) 09:03, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

Greetings Onel5969, without having to explain a lot further, and as an editor I look up to, I would like to have my permissions/user rights removed. The only reason I have requested the rights in the first place was to get reduce the WP:NPP backlog and other spaces which I felt like reviewers take too long to attend, but lately I've been feeling like I'm NOT doing a good job and I would like to help improving the encyclopedia by only creating articles for now because I feel like that's where I excel the most, but without piling up the NPP backlog as I am requesting the WP:Autopatrolled right and that's if I am eligible although I believe I meet the minimum requirements and have a good understanding of WP:AfC and WP:NOTABILITY

In conclusion, I would like to have all my rights (excluding IP Block exemptions) removed and would love to have Autopatrolled to minimize reviewers backlog. Thank you. shelovesneo (talk) 05:15, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Onel is not an admin and can not remove rights (posting to AN or asking the granting admins if they're currently active are better). Maybe another watcher of this user talk page can do this though. VickKiang (talk) 05:22, 7 September 2023 (UTC)
VickKiang, thanks, Onel has been helpful throughout my editing period i assumed he is an admin shelovesneo (talk) 05:49, 7 September 2023 (UTC)

Hey User:Onel5969, could you help review this?

Hey @Onel5969 you had recently fixed a Disambiguation link on a recently created page Lewis Raymond Taylor, but the page is still unreviewed from quite some time (longer than usual), could you please give a hand and check it? Tintantuckle (talk) 11:49, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi Tintantuckle, I do not really actively review articles any more, but I did take a look at your article. An issue which might be causing the article to remain unreviewed is the fact that it is WP:REFBOMBed. Most reviewers hate that, as it makes reviewing the article very tedious. I might suggest you take a look at that link I just provided, and then go back and trim down the number of citations. Rarely should any fact in an article have more than 2 footnotes. I hope that helps. Onel5969 TT me 12:49, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
Many thanks @Onel5969 i trimmed down the number of citations per claim, Hopefully it should fix the issue. Tintantuckle (talk) 15:19, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

Miss Earth Pakistan

Hello, Added internal links to Miss Earth Pakistan. Please check and let me know if its still an orphan article and what else to do for it. The Miss Earth Article has over 40 articles with news sources attached to it. Thank you. Salut65 (talk) 00:33, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

No, as soon as you link one other article to it, it is no longer an orphan. Article looks fine. Keep up the good work. Onel5969 TT me 01:09, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

why on earth marking to disambiguate

....instead of actually doing it at Mike Bousselot? Waste of time and electrons... Wuerzele (talk) 18:49, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

Have no idea what you're talking about. Talk about a waste of time. Onel5969 TT me 19:32, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

Spiral arms

I think your edits to spiral arm wikilinks went a bit haywire. I started reverting, then looked at how many there were and decided to see if you already have a list and can undo the whole lot more quickly. I suspect that WP:NOTBROKEN applies and those links don't need disambiguating at all, but certainly not to the section you tried. Lithopsian (talk) 19:58, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

I just noticed that the spiral arm redirect was briefly retargeted to spiral arm (disambiguation), which was presumably when you started your edits. The piped target is still wrong, though. Lithopsian (talk) 20:05, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, I can look back through my history and revert. I AGF'd and assumed the editor (with autopatrolled rights) knew what they were doing. Onel5969 TT me 20:52, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
Thanks. Lithopsian (talk) 13:44, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for getting that one today, I thought I had gotten all of them yesterday. Onel5969 TT me 14:12, 12 September 2023 (UTC)

Advice request (new NPP reviewer)

Hello Onel5969, I posted this question on the NPP discussion page earlier today, so perhaps you've already seen it. I noticed that you'd made a few edits to the two articles in question (here and here), and thought, hmmm, you might just be willing to give me some advice on WP:COPYVIO in this context (my apologies if you're not taking questions). I thought these two reviews would be relatively straightforward, but it seems I've stalled out on Earwig, alas. Cheers, Cl3phact0 (talk) 12:58, 20 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi. I hadn't seen the question. In general, lists of names, etc, taken from another source are not a copyright violation, you must simply ensure that it is cited properly. IMHO, I only looked at the first article, and that does not appear to be a copyvio. My go-to editor for copyright questions is Diannaa. Interestingly enough, the second article, while a lower earwig %, is more problematic from a copyvio standpoint. while some of that is simply text that cannot be paraphrased, there are at least two phrases which are lifted directly from the source. Regarding the same source, yes, if several refs all flow back to the same source, that's a single source. Regarding GNG, yes, we need independent sourcing which goes in-depth about the subject to show notability. And regarding taking questions, while I might be slow in responding, I never mind taking the question. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 10:39, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you, and also thanks for alerting Diannaa – who quickly resolved the copyvio matter far more WP:BOLDly than I would have attempted. The articles in question seem to be in order now (for what they are), and I've also picked-up some useful NPP knowledge en passent. Cheers, Cl3phact0 (talk) 07:21, 22 September 2023 (UTC)

Orphan tag

Is an orphan tag a reason for the article not to get reviewed? Onyxinc (talk) 11:13, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

No. It just indicates to editors that no other articles link to it. Onel5969 TT me 11:15, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. Are you a reviewer? Onyxinc (talk) 11:19, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

Picasso drafts

Hello. Can you take another look at the two stubs Harlequin and His Companion (The Saltimbanque) and House in the Garden (House and Trees) which you had moved to draft. They each have the museum source reference, which is usually enough for stand-alone mainspace painting articles. Noticed these from the red links on the {{Pablo Picasso}} navbox. Thanks. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:59, 27 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi Randy, if you feel they meet notability criteria, by all means move them back into mainspace. Onel5969 TT me 00:44, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Jean-Antoine de Mesmes (premier président)

Dear Onel5969 (750,196 edits!) Already the article's first version (by User talk:AllanBz) used Académie française and then shortened it to Academy. You recently lowercased that "Academy" to "academy". I think it might have been better to keep it in French and shorten it to Académie rather than to "Academy" (or even repeat Académie française at least another time?). What do you think? Could you please make the appropriate change according to your choice? I think you, with your exceptional experience, know much better than I do. With thanks and best regards, Johannes Schade (talk) 09:38, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Greetings. If the word is left as academy, it should definitely be lower case, but in context of the article, changing it to Académie française would not be unwarranted, and in that case, the A should be a capital. Onel5969 TT me 10:16, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
