Re: Apology[edit]

I'm sorry again if my misreading of what you said was offensive, I read it too quickly, and I want to thank you again for your support. Please let me know if there's any way I can help you in return for your kindness. Karmafist 13:47, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Dumbassness[edit]

As you said, No worries man, it was my dumbass-esque rush in reading your comment in the first place that was the trouble here. We all do stupid shit every now and then. Heh, that should be a user box..."It's ok to be a dumbass"... Karmafist 15:39, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

lol[edit]

If you make it, i'll put it on my page ;-) I'll run for a re-rfa if someone nominates me, but I won't self nominate. Being an admin isn't as big a deal to me as sticking to my beliefs are, and the biggest one of those is everybody has a right to edit here in a non-intimidating environment. And you're absolutely right, Jimbo is not infallible, no human is. He has the right to be a dumbass with the rest of us :-) Karmafist 15:46, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

you did well telling me on my french talk page.

Thanks for the information. We do not have paramedics in France. As I understand the correspondances, the firefighters are CFR's, and if the situation require medical acts (drugs, intubation...), then the medical regulation (samu) sends a smur (also called samu by confusion) i.a. an MD, a nurse and an ambulance driver (also CFR).

The equivalent of paramedics appeared about 2 years ago with the firefighter nurses (infirmier sapeur-pompier, ISP); it is a nurse who has an additional education in emergency (emergency is part of the basic education of all nurses, but only a few practice) and specific protocols.

But they are still rare (maybe less than ten in a département which means less than 1 000 for 60 million inhabitants), the smur and some firefighter physicians (volunteer physicians integrated in the FD) make most of the medical prehospital acts.

cdang|write me 16:27, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mmmm, I think I did not explained well... In France, we dont have paramedics. It is either CFRs (mostly firefighters, sometimes private ambulance drivers) or smur (i.e. MD+nurse+CFR), or sometimes firefighter nurse (the closest to your paramedic, but they are few). The MD+nurse can of course give drugs, and so can the firefighter nurse thanks to the protocols.
Different countries, different organizations...
cdang|write me 13:52, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I read again the Emergency medical technician article, and it seems the drugs are used by EMT-I and -P, not by EMT-B. Therefore my question. The answer might be in the Certified first responder article (but written after my initial question): "First responder training is a cost-effective way to extend the reach of the emergency medical system, but not a substitute for EMT-Basic training for those employed to provide emergency medical services on a daily basis."
cdang|write me 15:41, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, that's clear. Now I realise that a synthetic article would be useful. Something like Organization of the emergency medical assistance, that would make a brief overview of the various systems in the world, then with specific article for given countries and given professions (like Paramedic). I start this right now (-:

Signature[edit]

Yeah, I usually do.. when I don't it's often because the person I'm talking to knows it's me, because I've been having a conversation with him (or her) back and forth. :-) Dan 23:25, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Olympic[edit]

Yeah, I';ve already started. It'll be easier with a lot of people.

Administrator not acting professionally[edit]

Please see my comments regarding ChrisO who claims to be an administrator: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia%3ARequests_for_mediation%2FDianetics&diff=39395458&oldid=39381978 --JimmyT 22:14, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the confirmation. What do you think about the way he is conducting himself? --JimmyT 22:23, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure[edit]

Let's just make sure it's not symbolic. I'll e-mail you in a bit about what I mean. Karmafist 22:27, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks[edit]

thanks for your time. well as you can see there's this picture that really pisses me off 'cause it's racist

well apparently it is. taiwanese=shame is an obvious racist comment. and maybe you don't know how to read mandarin but actually jiang is dissing taiwanese president and the ppl livin in that country Freestyle.king 06:33, 13 February 2006 (UTC)Freestyle.king[reply]

ok let's get it straight. i haven't check my message for a while. the only reason jiang=shame is on my talk page is because of jiang's refusal to remove his racist comment. his image taiwan=shame is not only a great insult to all taiwanese but also is unacceptable in any circumstances.--Freestyle.king 05:50, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Carnildo's bot[edit]

Mike, I saw your comment at Carnildo's talk page and thought I should respond. At my suggestion, Moe Epsilon asked Carnildo to remove the image from his signature wherever it appears, because the image may be a copyright infringement. So this is a special case, and Orphanbot is operating outside of its usual functions. Thanks for being observant, though. Chick Bowen 18:16, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, just saw that Carnildo answered you himself. So never mind then. :) Chick Bowen 18:17, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I noticed that you are a participant in the WikiProject Preclinical Medicine. The article Connecting tubule has been nominated for deletion. As this is an anatomical subject I was hoping to get somebody within the project to adopt the article for expansion. I could find no way to add the article to this project. I hope you or your fellow particpants would consider adopting this article to love. James084 22:07, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Islamic Athletics[edit]

If you look under the tag you can see links to the source, they're not in the tag itself because they containg search string type urls which the tag didn't like... It's the quoted section in italics thats copyvio, not a huge deal and it turns out the source site allows republishing with proper accreditation which somebody will presumably sort out. The general quality and style of the article is still rubbish, I have no objection to an article on this topic, indeed I think it's quite interesting. Deiz 11:14, 22 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do Me a Favor, My Friend[edit]

Don't nominate me on the 25th just yet. It may be solved by then, but I just had a good talk with Jimbo, and the entire re-rfa, as well as all the userbox nonsense, may be on the way to being a moot point. Thank you for sticking there with me, even when we disagreed on things. I doubt i'll ever be able to repay you. Karmafist 01:48, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh. I guess it doesn't matter anyway. :-) Thanks for your kind words and all your support through this bullshit. Karmafist 14:56, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message[edit]

Thanks a lot for the message and support. I use the computer with a text-to-speech software called Job Access With Speech which does have an article on Wikipedia so you can read all about it. It took a long time for me to learn how certain processes such as Recent Changes work, but I have been here for nearly 2.5 years so I am farely comfortable with everything now. longde article deletion[edit]

go ahead and delete it. I will try to write a better article on all three sections (mind series, space series, instruction series) as they probably don't warrant individual articles (at least not to the level of detail/notability that is appropriate for WP. Thanks for the heads up. Zero sharp 05:44, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

5 HIAA[edit]

Yes please use the IUPAC name and have 5 HIAA redirect there. Thanks. Sequoyah 06:58, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not positive, but i think that is the correct name. If you have a way to find out for sure you should do that. Sequoyah 07:07, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cool thanks for your input too. I know what you mean, surfing the science articles is really engrossing. Soon i'll be majoring in ethnobotany. Get some rest, peace. Sequoyah 07:17, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You got it right. Lets stop that page from redirecting to serotonin. Thanks.Sequoyah 20:55, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion of Asahi Kasei[edit]

Being listed on the Niki is one of the WP:CORP criteria for notability. While a stub, that fact and the size of the company likely mean it is OK. Vegaswikian 07:59, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Protect Globafan please!![edit]

Protecting the article isn't the correct course of action I don't think. I've warned the user again, making that the third warning, and if he recreates it once again, I'll block him. Three strikes are more than plenty. enochlau (talk) 08:30, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletions[edit]

How come aren't you using edit summaries when you propose an article for deletion? You might also consider notifying article creators in case they can respond to the concerns and in the spirit of "uncontroversial" deletions. A template is available: {{tl:PRODWarning}}. RE:Vandalism[edit]

Hi. No problem, although you probably noticed that I originally reverted the vandal but then I reverted myself, we I saw the "feel free to vandalise" comment on your user psge. Wasn't too sure if you had any limits in mind! :) Cheers TigerShark 09:33, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anti Squidward Bot[edit]

No worries, the bot is running under a bot flag, its tawkerbot - we had some issues with the CVU bots lagging and I think a direct auto bot revert might work a little faster when we have 20 edits a second coming in. -- Tawker 08:34, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RfA[edit]

Thank you for your support in my request for adminship. I'm delighted that the RfA succeeded with a final consensus of 52/17/7, and receiving comments including having 'excellent potential to become a great moderator', and I am now an administrator. It did however only just pass, and I shall do my very best to rectify any of my errors, including the general belief that I should do more article work. If you have any concerns, or if you ever feel that I may be able to help you, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Again, thank you!

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Bambenek (2nd nomination)[edit]

What references aren't verifiable, odds are I can find links for them if you'd like.

There have been references in eWeek [1], PcWorld [2], InfoWorld [3], SearchSecurity [4], Consumer Affairs [5], C-Net [6], and he was referenced by the State of Oregon for his knowledge [7], and his own college points out his notability [8]. For his coverage on Hurricane Katrina, he was quoted in both the Seatlle Times [9], and the LA Times [10]. The NYTimes article was reproduced in dozens of papers around the world. -- 130.126.139.14 01:39, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cyde RFA Comment[edit]

Well, the comment was misguided. I stand corrected, and I actually asserted that non-admins can delete articles, and I was wrong. I apologize, and I struck out the comment and replaced it. My Election[edit]

Heh, maybe you can write me in as a write in candidate for Parliament! ;-)

I'm running for Selectman(the legislative body of the town) and Ethics Committee. I've actually started a wiki for the election at

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/2006_Merrimack_Town_Meeting_Season_Voters_Guide. It's still incomplete, but there's time left. Tonight's the Deliberative Session(the name they use for SB2 Town Meetings), and that could make or break me. My chances this time are honestly very slim, but that's irrelevant. I'm going to have a good time and hopefully introduce some new ideas and end the endless bickering that has been endemic in our town. Unfortunately, we're run by a cabal here as well...

In any case, thanks for stopping by and wishing me luck, I wouldn't still be on Wikipedia if it weren't for your friendship. I'm also glad to see that Kinneyboy found some solace in my words of wisdom :-) Karmafist 11:21, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your Country[edit]

Yeah, I was kind of disapointed in that as well(i'm a big fan of Canadian politics), but Conservative Minority governments in Canada only last around a year, so you'll have another chance to vote them out soon.

I am incredibly Democratic, hell I got into an rfc over the Democratic Userbox. Unfortunately, my town is incredibly far to the right. Just check out 2004 New Hampshire General Court Election, I finished 14th out of 16 in Hillsborough 19. Tonight's Deliberative Session just plain pissed me off. It was like the town's leadership and most concerned citizens had nothing better to do than cancel each other out. If there's any way I can get into the New Hampshire General Court, which has been my life dream more or less for the last year, the first thing i'm going to do is obliterate SB2 from space. And for that matter, Roberts Rules of Order. That is such a horrible method of parliamentary procedure. Karmafist 05:34, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: RfA Vote Idea[edit]

Thanks for the idea. However, it won't always work, because I often deviate from the criteria I made up a long time ago. In fact, I ought to update that page a little. Thanks for the input though. Rob Church (talk) 07:03, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
