Kansellist/kansellisjef
[edit]What would be the correct English term for these positions? The context is Fredrik Meyer, pilot, aide-de-camp to H7, later he had those positions at St. Olavs Ordens kanselli. Vice-chancellor/Chancellor? Regards, Paaln (talk) 18:06, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Good evening, Paaln. Neither Chancellor, nor Vice-chancellor, is the appropriate term since kansellisjef is a different position as head of the order's secretariat (or chancery). Kansellist is an ordinary secretary assisting in the administration of the order (but not to be confused with the Secretary of the Order - ordenssekretær). I would perhaps phrase the matter along the lines that from 1955 onwards he was a secretary in the Order of St. Olav and from 1971 to 1978 head of the order's secretariat. All the best, Ordensherre (talk) 19:09, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks Paaln (talk) 23:19, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
