Please note[edit]

I have reverted material from this sub-page which I believe violates WP:POLEMIC, which see.

I have also notified Drmies, Fram, and Slatersteven of your apparent intention to "check [them] out". Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:17, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On a potentially related matter, I'm not sure why I was just pinged, considering the original content in question seems to have been added years ago, but there is a phrase attributed to me (on your user page) as a part of a debate on civility ("anhedonic Dickensian crosspatch") which I am pretty certain I never said. In fact, I can find no such comment made by anyone in the cited discussion. And, as best I recall that discussion, it is more likely that the phrase in question (if utilized by anyone at all) was probably leveled at me, since I was advocating for the notion that wikipedia is a kind of workspace (volunteer or otherwise) and individuals ought to moderate their approach to incivil and potentially harassing statements accordingly. I can imagine someone advocating for completely unrestricted speech on the project might have responded with the phrase in question to suggest that my position (that the community needs to redouble support for WP:CIV) would lead to a joyless environment, devoid of levity or passion, since I have seen more or less that exact (and in my opinion hyperbolic) response whenever people suggest a higher standard of conduct regarding civility. But that is just my best guess for how my name somehow got mistakenly entangled with this quote--again, the phrase does not appear (at least as a live edit) in the discussion cited. Regardless, I'm virtually certain I never said anything of the sort, so I'd appreciate it if the content could be removed, or at a minimum, the edit in question presented here so I can review it in context.
