Cow Tipping

[edit]

I see you reverted some minor vandalism on cow tipping, which is itself a form of minor vandalism. Maybe that makes you some sort of uber-reverter of vandalism. ;-) Lou Sander 01:31, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There comes a time when the art of reverting vandalism transcends the ordinary or the everyday. We should all strive to reach this pinacle of human evolution and my work on the cow tipping article is simply my meager and humble stride to reach this zen like state you have begun to envision. Thanks for noticing. I must now meditate. Phauge 01:42, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

if you rreally want to beat TawkerBot to the vandalism

[edit]

you should look into either WP:VandalProof, or WP:POP, besides, tawkerbot, and all it's second and third cousins only revert blankings, vandalism that doesn't remove large chunks of content, still require manual reverts--205.188.116.12 05:26, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It won't catch everything, subtle vandalism isn't caught by the bot (say changing a date in an article or changing a name) - there's still lots of work for human RC Patrollers (and for that matter admins, someone has to hit block when the bot starts screaming for a block :o - anyways, yeah, if its super obvious the bot gets it but theres a lot of stuff it won't get (but it does do more than blanking and stuff like that, but thats another story) -- Tawker 17:22, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Morse code example

[edit]

this seems like it would be better suited to be placed in the Q code and Morse Code Abbreviations article since that is really what is being demo'd

Presumably you are going to place it there then, rather than just going around deleting other people's careful, relevant and useful work? --Nigelj 18:55, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The examples are not even using Morse Code. They are just clear examples of Q Code. Show me how that is relevant information to the Morse Code article. The examples were long, looked horrible and bring nothing to the article. I'll move your precious examples to their respective pages, but not right away. Later tonight, perhaps. You are more than welcome to. PMHauge 19:24, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the delay, but this wasn't really a priority for me (or anyone else, it would seem). I've moved the information over to both the Prosigns for Morse Code and Morse Code Abbreviations articles. PMHauge 06:48, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image deletion and 3RR warning

[edit]

Wikipedia is not censored. Also be aware of the three revert rule. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:06, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You should be very careful. That last edit was definitely a partial revert, which technically makes you blockable for 3RR. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 03:47, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Who is reverting who is rather subjective; you're infact both reverting each other, it's just that you've done it four times, one being a partial revert, whereas the other party has not. I quite liked that sketch, I'll add it back in, but I won't remove the image at the same time, I'm sure you can appreciate why. I basically think you need to discuss the issue more on the talk page. I will chime in if appropriate with input that I hope everyone can find helpful. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 04:13, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see the sketch is still there... that's good. I'll read the talk page discussion. --Deskana (fry that thing!) 04:15, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Much obliged. I've tried to talk this out on the talk page, but nobody seems to have any reasonable defense for this contentious image. PMHauge 04:16, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, PMHauge. An automated process has found and will an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that is in your userspace. The image (Image:Mr. Grumpy.jpg) was found at the following location: User:PMHauge. This image or media will be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. This does not necessarily mean that the image is being deleted, or that the image is being removed from other pages. It is only being removed from the page mentioned above. All mainspace instances of this image will not be affected Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 23:39, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is probably the stupidest BOT I've ever seen. Dear god. Have you nothing better to do? Keep your greasy mits off of my user page. PMHauge 03:15, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's not how it works around here. You don't own your user page. Fair use/nonfree media will be removed from it. --Kinu t/c 06:23, 21 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ernestchappel.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ernestchappel.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:49, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
