Welcome!

Hello, FloridaHospital, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard. Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Dr. Vipul Patel, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Username

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, FloridaHospital, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it it represents an organization rather than an individual. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:45, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I requested a change to FLGRI

I suppose your new name, FLHGRI, is not blatantly identifiable as "FLorida Hospital Global Robotics Institute". However, it still does indicate your association with that institution. Please be aware of Wikipedia conflict of interest guidelines. Users are expected to contribute to an encyclopedia, not to promote their own interests. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:38, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Further to the above, can you select a pseudonym that does not represent the organization you work for? Also, read up on the conflict of interests guidelines linked helpfully by the user above. –xenotalk 18:50, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll request another change then, perhaps PRPLwiki

Thanks! Can someone help me make the Dr. Vipul Patel page without violating stuff? I didn't think it would, considering the amount of external links and content on related topics. Not to mention the lack of superlatives used...I don't see how it was advertising.

  • You can work on the article at User:PRPLwiki/Dr. Vipul Patel. See the links provided above for more information, see WP:GNG. Maybe ask for help at WT:MED. Don't for get to sign your posts using four tildes. –xenotalk 19:15, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • You were advised to work on the article in your userspace, and xeno (talk · contribs) was kind enough to move the article to your user space. However, rather than improving the article there and requesting feedback, you simply rearranged it a bit and copied it back to the article space. The current article is still unabashedly positive and promotional of Dr. Patel. The references to his "accolades" is copied verbatim from the Global Robotics Institute website which can hardly be called a reliable source. If you really want to improve the article, please request feedback from independent editors on your userspace version before placing it back into the main article space. • PPRPLwiki, please thoroughly read Wikipedia:Your first article and the related links before inserting this article into the mainspace again. I've had to delete both the mainspace page and your userspace draft as WikiDan61 pointed out above that it has a good chunk copied and pasted from a website that does not appear to have released the content under a suitably free license. –xenotalk 21:27, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings.
