[edit]Hello there. If you could, could you please block this IP address I am currently using? Just to let you know, I am not the editor making those edits before these edits. I am a regular editor on here, and don't want my school district to get in trouble. Thank you. --204.132.102.1 19:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
VP Ongoing Issues
[edit]For some reason my name has been removed from the list of authorized users. I was added by Betacommand here [1], and he welcommed me here[2]. I had difficulties using it, did everything I could myself, was unable to, so I requested assistance here [3]. Instead of assistance, I was removed from the list. Because I have had difficulties on wikipedia recieving help from administrators when requested, this message is in essence a generic template I am writing on all moderators' talk pages and discussion boards in the hopes of recieving if nothing else a response - ideally, however, a solution. Thank you very much and apologies for my impatience. Gregorof/(T) 05:32, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
Change to Common.css
[edit]Per recent discussions, the way in which Persondata is viewed by Wikipedia editors has changed. In order to continue viewing Persondata in Wikipedia articles, please edit your user CSS file to display table.persondata rather than table.metadata. More specific instructions can be found on the Persondata page. --ShakingSpirittalk on behalf of Kaldari 01:42, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
Cut it.
[edit]Do not push me on this. Those images I uploaded myself, and almost all of them are ones I created myself. I believe I have EVERY RIGHT to display them in my userspace. Don't revert the page again. --RedPooka 04:38, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

- Fine. I'll use links on that page. The only problem is that, I would like the links to be in the gallery, not outside it. If you could find a fix for that, I'd be fine. Just, I'm not in much favor of someone going in and editing someone else's personal work (as in a user
pagespace, not an article). I tend to think of it as going into someone's house and re-arranging the furniture. I don't even like people reverting vandalism on someone else's page. (T_T) --RedPooka 16:44, 26 December 2006 (UTC) - Oh, one more thing. By adding that template to those image pages, you are going to get them deleted! --RedPooka 17:14, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

MJ images
[edit]I got consent from both of the flickr users I'll send you an email and I'll forward the one to you. The other has to send me an email which I can forward as he only sent me a flickr message. Quadzilla99 12:36, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm going to remove the image in the portrait as the user has not gotten back to me yet. However the other user just wrote expressly on the other images flickr page that it can be used on Wikipedia. So I'll move that to the portrait box. Unfortunately it's a litte shadowy but it will have to do for now. Quadzilla99 01:52, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- I was able to brighten the image up a bit but that's probably all for naught as you'll probably be cropping and enhancing when you upload it to Commons anyway. All in all it does look very good, and will probably look better once you enhance the resolution. It appears we will finally have a solid image for MJ if all goes with well Mr. Massel in the next couple of days. Quadzilla99 10:23, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- I figured out the ins and out of Wikimedia and image altering and cropping and whatnot. I've got a high-resolution, cropped, contrasted, version of the pic ready to go here:[4] and as soon as Mr. Hassel signs off I or you can move it to Wikimedia Commons. It's in the MJ portrait pic now. Quadzilla99 16:34, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, I/we don't need MJ6 or MJ7 also AirJordan23[5]'s not going to be able to used as the user never got back to me for whatever reason. If he ever gets back to me we can just re-upload it. My inexperience led me to create severel redundant images. I now know how to just replace the old ones. Thanks.Quadzilla99 07:28, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hakeem Image
[edit]Could you do me a favor and delete this:[6] I uploaded it but forgot to scale down the resolution. I've downloaded a scaled down resolution version and it's no longer needed. Thanks. Quadzilla99 13:11, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
- Done. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 22:55, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
How do you think it's coming along? I'll work through the peer review comments over the next few days, and then what next; GA or FA? I know you've been involved in this one for a couple of years so it would be good to get it over the line with your help! --Steve (Slf67) talk 02:42, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the great advice! --Steve (Slf67) talk 03:41, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
- I notice User:Tom Vickery has unilaterally moved all the TG subpages from "pagename (Top Gear)" to "page". Does this make any sense? --Steve (Slf67) talk 22:24, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Gran Turismo 4
[edit]Could you find a few minutes to drop by Gran Turismo 4? Its Criticism section appears to be getting out of control again, and it would be nice to have more than one editor to moderate it.--SportWagon 23:48, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
Could you please semi-protect Dwyane Wade, or rather look over the recent edit history of the article and see whether it merits semi-protection. Some of the recent edits are questionable, unless of course we can provide references proving his "rampant homosexuality" and his "blowing of refs" before games. Thanks. I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Top Gear Dog, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Image Removal
[edit]I'm disappointed at having my Michael Jordan and Red Auerbach images removed. It's particularly painful for me to see the very unflattering photo of Red on his page. I'd spoken with another administrator at Wikipedia at length about adding scores of my original NBA images to Wikipedia and he was good with my credit. I had granted the appropriate license , but placed a small credit within the photos as these images are my livelihood. I see that many NBA players have no image or no appropriate action photo or have images that have been stolen from other sources. I felt that contributing my images would be an asset to site. Cavic

[edit]Im not vandalizing anything. I am stating FACT. Dont tell you too disreguard facts. (Omnicron8)
This page is loaded with copyvio images. I put disputed tags on them but that will take a month to get rid of them, would you mind looking it over? Nothing really important to me, I'll probably never look at the page again. Just thought it was kind of ridiculous. They all come from this user who blanks his talk page due to warnings for pic uploads. Thanks in advance. Quadzilla99 20:47, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

American cinema
[edit]I had just about finished for today. What is the problem? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:07, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
THe template is part of the other cinema templates that have been drawn up. Indian cinema thought the template was a great idea and are adding them on all film related articles. They should go at the very bottom of the pages ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:09, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
had a feeling this issue should arise - it is to provide a better link between American cinema articles. I won't add it to any more footers until we decide then th criteria. My idea is to place it in the footer of the most important actors and film articles -iconic actors and films - OK then how about the film or actor must be connected with an award win or nomination? THis way the elite articles get the template
No not all film and actors. As I said above. What do you mean what is it for? For navigation purposes- templates have been drawn up for each country for linking cinema articles together. I can see you disregard my efforts but beleive it or not many others have approved of the idea see my talk page and award section on my User page. I turned down being an admin long ago. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:16, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Might I ask you what is the point on all the actor/ direcotr templates and all wikipedia templates that have been made then? It is no different. They are just there for convenience. E.g why does a Meryl Streep template exist when you can go into her article and see the Filmography easily? Tell me this? It just does because they attempt to be helpful to users ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:18, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
I personally don't think templates such as that are that good but this template connects a lot of different categories and articles together to try to grasp a huge subject . Have I made my idea clear? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:19, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
THanks for your message. You see this is precisely the idea and why such a template has more signifcance than actor templates it attempts to draw all the compionents of such a huge industry together connecting both categories and important articles to make learning easier and more efficient. The templates are merely for quicker movement and tying of articles. I know I wnon't convince you but I hope you would attempt to see the idea. I for one always consider the AMerian cinema as a vast almost unapproachable project -I hoped the idea would be to try to make it more consolidated and accesible. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:33, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
I am also going by response from respected members of the Wikipedia community who left these comments on my talk page in response to some of the other templates:
Well am I suppossed to wrap my loving arms around you at your move? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 22:46, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
If you delete those templates I am leaving wikipedia for good. If you really must why not just use them in the individual Cinema articles. I put a lot of work into them and don't expect you to show utter disregard like this. Its just mean. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 12:30, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
For instance look at Parapalos. How can that template at the foot of the page be a problem? It links articles together without having to rummage through categories and looks neat and appropriate. OK I admit the American template should be limited to maybe just the CInwema page as the other templates exist but to go ahead and throw in the lot which will affect thousands of articles - is a rash decision by you to say the least. How can it possibly be harmful to wikipedia? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 13:08, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
There are many many things on wikipedia I think are a total waste of time and should not be in our encyclopedia. List of Japanese anime characters and whatever I personally beleive are a joke but there are users I know who are interested in that sort of thing and have created templates for use those articles. But do you see me tagging their work and disregarding their efforts? Certainly not. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 13:11, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Well no its the way you just went oh what the heck I'll propose them all for deletion. I have said perhaps the American template should be limited as many American films for the sole reason already have templates -perhaps that should be restricted to the cinema page and OSCAR winners or nominated films/people. THat is a defined criteria for US films. However for other world film articles which do not have such templates I see no reason why they shouldn't be used well. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:31, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
What annoys me is wasting time in discussing this when I could be continuing to work on improving the cinema articles (and I don't mean templating. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:33, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
In my view there are hundreds of templates which are far less adequate than mine. Can you geniunely say that this template is very useful for wikipedia?
{{Pokémon cards}}
It is one of hundreds, thousands used which really have no real use , not even encyclopedic - but just because I don't think it is all that useful doesn't mean I am going to disregard those interested in it and find it useful
♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:41, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
I have given the criteria now near the beginning of that page. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 14:44, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
OK thanks but you can see how your comment and decision to just tag them all without checking got to me "I hope I got them all" was like saying I can't wait to burn the lot of them -this is why it seemed "nasty" -other than this you seem like a decent user who if I had met in a different situation and context I would consider as fine. You are entitled to your opinion but it would have been best to discuss it at WP:Films which is where such a consensus should be met before throwing them all in -it would have saved me notifying all the members too. I hope you will see that I am actually trying to connect everything well and imporve articles rather than being a vandal! Anyway I hope you'll appreciate my efforts ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 15:54, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
OK thanks mate that does mean something. If I see it from your viewpoint - monitoring general articles and you suddenly see a number of bold templates placed in some of the most important film and actor articles then you are bound to be curious. If it wasn't to do with me of course I wouldn't have reacted so strongly. I do respect your opinion and you as a wikipedian-everyone is entitled to their view but I added some of the templates beleiving a lot of people were content with them and certainly didn't expect they would be up for deletion. I know really it is not personal and derogatory - as a monitor I would expect you to try to do want you think is right but I do think they have more use in certain articles than you may think, espcially if you are deeply involved with film articles on wikipedia when they can become very handy. I apologise if I might have flared a little when you went into all out deletion -I hope you can change you opinion of me and know that I have been of some value to the project. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 16:14, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
Note that I wasn't even going to create the US template precsiely with the reason I happen to agree with everybody!! that is it too generic in a world dominated by US cinema. It was the last template created which I took some time to wonder if it was appropriate and conceded it should go in core American articles only. Howver the vast majority of the world cinema articles are often alienated this was my intention. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 11:47, 15 March 2007 (UTC) Hi just wondering why you haven't closed the debate over the template yet when the other was closed with less than half the votes? I think it should be a WikiProject Film discussion now to decide application. I think I'll limit the US template to only a several articles ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "I've been expecting you" 18:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Jordan FAC
[edit]The Michael Jordan FAC has been re-listed (which was probably a good idea). Thought you'd like to know, here's a quick link. Quadzilla99 14:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Also could you delete this? I uploaded it under an incorrect title for the LT article and don't need it anymore as I re-uploaded it under a correct title. Quadzilla99 16:57, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Incidentally I think it's pretty quizzical that we tried so hard to keep the size down on the MJ article (35kb of prose currently) and then Ian Thorpe article pops up on the front page today (55kb prose!). Oh well I think it's for the best, I couldn't read that whole Thorpe article. The Jordan article is much easier to digest. Quadzilla99 19:53, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Dupe image deletions
[edit]Hi PS2etc- I noticed that you cleaned out a lot of speedy-delete images last night (for me) that my new bot User:Staeckerbot had tagged as duplicates. The bot is still in testing, and I'd appreciate any advice you might have. In particular, I noticed that a few times you decided to delete "the other one" instead of the one that the bot nominated. Do you have any advice to give about ways that I can make the bot choose the right one to delete, or just some reasons why the bot chose the wrong one? Thanks a lot- Staecker 13:00, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
Delete Images
[edit]Hi Gamer, I goofed & have a few unlinked images that Orphanbot told me about. I don't know where they are. Hope they'll get deleted. Also, I goofed with uploading a picture on the Barbaro site. I replaced it with one that I REALLY took. I tried to delete the incorrect one, but you, the Administrator must delete for me so that nobody reverts to the incorrect image.
