Post blanking

[edit]

Hi. Sorry I don't mean to clutter up your talk page after you already blanked it... just wanted to say we do still want you on as an editor, and you've been valuable as an editor. Clearly you had good intentions (although the issue of WP:BITING had come up before, which is why I did what I did. Anyway, you're free to edit now. Although this ship has sailed, I don't think this was a case of biting: the pattern of editing going on at the owling article had many of the hallmarks of a 4chan-style article rush, complete with multiple SPA accounts, mock-aghast edit summaries, using the term interwebz in the article body, etc. Even though the reverted edits were not obvious vandalism (thus triggering WP:3RR), I wish that the guidelines gave more allowances for first-and-final warnings in borderline cases like this. Not at all; PTJoshua made no attempt whatsoever to reach out to the other user on the talk page, either on the talk page or the other user's talk page (which he's been asked a few times to do). And to say he was bitey is actually an understatement ("rv stupid crap again."). The other user didn't know to use the talk page; PTJoshua did. Additionally, I strongly dislike the logic that vandalism patrollers can revert new users just because they're new. And no, the edit war was only with one other user.

Nevertheless, it's over; no need to rehash the second world war after it's already over. Magog the Ogre (talk) 19:18, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
