CROSS-CULTURAL ISSUES IN THERAPY WITH AN ASIAN AMERICAN ADOLESCENT. Authors: Shen, Hong Chiu, Sufen Lim, Russell F. Source: Adolescent Psychiatry; 2006, Vol. 29, p315-342, 28p Document Type: Article Subject Terms: *ASIAN American youth

  • CULTURAL relations
  • IMMIGRANTS -- United States
  • TEENAGERS -- Suicidal behavior

Geographic Terms: TAIWAN UNITED States Abstract: This article presents information on the case of a 17-year-old, recent male immigrant from Taiwan, whose assessment and therapy presented many issues typically encountered in work with Asian American youth. The Taiwanese adolescent was a recent immigrant to the United States. He was hospitalized after attempting suicide with an overdose of acetaminophen. The suicide attempt occurred after the breakup with a boyfriend, his first same-sex relationship. For immigrants and ethnic minorities, it is important to delineate the degree of involvement with both the culture of origin and the host culture. This includes asking about the patient's preferred language and other language abilities. ISSN: 0065-2008 Accession Number: 18809691 Database: Academic Search Premier

Question[edit]

"Users like Oakshade, above, proudly claim success in keeping the article..."

Can you please explain where I made any kind of "claiming of success"?--Oakshade 08:15, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think I had mind on the talk page of the article in question, where you tell me that "notability is permanent" -- I took that to mean that you felt that the discussion regarding the existence of that article should end. Pablosecca 08:34, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But where is the "proudly claim success"? --Oakshade 08:37, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Allow us to finish this gam on the talk page of that article. Pablosecca 08:41, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have never "claimed successs" in keeping articles, proudly or othewise. Please show the proof of your charge or stop with the blatently false statements. --Oakshade 08:50, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User removing matarial from your page[edit]

Hi. I had noticed a new user by the name of Joanpossible was attempting to delete material from your talk page. As this is against policy and I'm sure you wouldn't think of creating a sock account for the purpose of circumventing policy or "Good hand, bad hand" purposes, I indicated to the new editor that they shouldn't do that. --Oakshade 21:27, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

    • First he added a message that he (or she) agreed with you, then the editor deleted the whole exchange.Pablosecca 23:29, 24 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Recent Article[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome your help to create new content, but your recent additions (such as Blind Blues Musicians) are considered nonsense. Please refrain from creating nonsense articles. If you want to test things out, edit the sandbox instead. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. — Taggard (Complain) 23:01, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't write that, its a bog standard template to put on users pages when someone nominates for speedy deletion. Sorry if it caused any offense. — Taggard (Complain) 23:06, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New user[edit]

Whoops, sorry! Pablosecca, could you help me to create an article?? --Joan Brown 18:52, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry -- another (anonymous) user was repeatedly posting the same unsourced POV stuff (re political corruption), and I thought it was starting again.

Hope things are quiet again in Cananea. I had one of the best seafood soups in my life in a little restaurant on the square there a few years ago. Cheers, Pete Tillman 16:30, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The proper format for the name of this article per the naming conventions is Enron scandal. I have redirected your newly created page to this existing page. Unfortunately, because the article with the proper name already existed, I can't move your version to the proper title, and transfer the edit history. This means that your changes to Enron Scandal are not incorporated into Enron scandal. User:Naconkantari has sorted it out, your edits are now preserved in the right place. To learn about the proper way to move pages, see Help:Moving a page. — Swpb talk contribs

Fair use rationale for Image:Gaitherdocument.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gaitherdocument.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 16:35, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tone and behavior regarding Jocelyne Couture-Nowak[edit]

You as of yet have not apologized for your blatantly false accusation that I was "claiming success" about keeping this page which was a personal attack. While that is disappointing, it has been expected. Making further attacks on other peoples talk pages are more examples of your unhelpful and uncivil behavior. If you make a proper apology, I will be happy to strike the relating threads. --Oakshade 17:21, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Matthew Barney.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Matthew Barney.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:11, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Stewart julie.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Stewart julie.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 07:58, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
