May 2013[edit]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. The article Ouramerica-ourfuture has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NOTBOOK

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. reddogsix (talk) 04:02, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Pagleissl. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 13:52, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • I would highly, highly encourage you to not create any further entries on yourself. The reason being is that to put it bluntly, you're just not notable enough for an entry at this point in time. You received a small amount of coverage about a bid for a school board seat that did not pan out, which is seen as WP:ONEEVENT. The book you wrote is not notable at this point in time either and while I don't mean this to sound harsh, nothing else you do at this point in time is likely to be notable enough to pass Wikipedia's guidelines. The notability guidelines on Wikipedia are incredibly strict and most of the people out there don't pass these guidelines. For na example of how hard it is to pass just WP:NBOOK, we have had books hit the New York Times bestselling list that have not received enough coverage to merit an entry. Even then, some of the authors haven't passed GNG despite hitting the NYTBL. You're just not notable at this point in time. I also wanted to note that creating pages for yourself is also seen as self-promotion, which is also a big no-no on Wikipedia. We are not an all inclusive place for everything out there- things have to pass notability guidelines. Just because something exists does not mean that it should be on Wikipedia. Now I know I sound harsh, but I want to stress to you the strictness of the rules here and that right now adding anything about yourself will be 99.999% likely to result in the article getting deleted in one form or another. I hate to put this so bluntly and I hope you don't take this as me telling you not to edit at all- just not about yourself. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 14:01, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
