June 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Kargil War, but we regretfully cannot accept original research. Original research also encompasses novel, unpublished syntheses of previously published material. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your information. Thank you.  S3000  ☎ 10:26, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Original research[edit]

Hello PakistaniGenius! I assume you're referring to this. The best way to understand No Original Research is by reading and understanding this article. If your quote was indeed taken from an Oxford book, please put it in as a quote, rather than as a statement, and cite your source (i.e. the name of the book, ISBN, author, publication etc.). Please do ensure that it's a reliable source.

Moreover it's incorrect to include a question (But this brings us to the more important question of why pakistan launched such a risk filled operation any way?...) as this is an encyclopedia and not a tutorial, news report or analysis. I hope you understand, and please get back to me if you're unfamiliar with anything else on Wikipedia.

Also, please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by inserting four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each post. Have a nice day!  S3000  ☎ 10:46, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
