Your addition to Society of Graduate and Professional Students at Queen's University has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text, or images borrowed from other websites, or printed material without a verifiable license; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. StarM 02:05, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

StarM, can you tell me what material is copyrighted? I pulled the information from our own website, therefore we own the rights to the words. Passelstine (talk) 17:57, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Passelstine[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Society of Graduate & Professional Student at Queen's University Logo.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Society of Graduate & Professional Student at Queen's University Logo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:44, 5 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hazard-Bot I don't understand what we did wrong in uploading our logo. Can you please clarify? Passelstine (talk) 17:59, 11 April 2013 (UTC)Passelstine[reply]

as I linked above, you should read WP:Copyright. In addition to not being freely available, the content is suited for your personal site and not for an encyclopedia. It is not neutral, and there is no evidence your group is notable, which is why it's limited to a mention in the school article. Please let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help.
