February 2019[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. The Blade of the Northern Lights (話して下さい) 21:10, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am running for Congress and am trying to create the Political Party page, information and show it on the NYS 2020 Congressional page to let others know that there is more than 1 person running as it is a new independent political party. I did not intent to promote, but rather inform of this new idea. I have attempted to make a profile user page but am blocked from doing so. Asking how I can create and edit, whilst also creating a political party page.

Decline reason:

You can't. Wikipedia is not a political soapbox. If your party meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, someone will write an article about it sooner or later. That person should not be you or anyone else affiliated with your party. You will not be unblocked as long as we believe you intend to use Wikipedia to raise awareness of your campaign. rename unsuccessful and unblock discussion[edit]

The chosen username is too similar to existing usernames or it used to be username of someone else that got renamed: DanielRoss and Danielross. Please select another name.

Clearly, you are trying to "inform" the public in an effort to promote a political campaign. If that is your only purpose in editing Wikipedia, I cannot unblock you. Please read WP:Nothere. My suggestion is that you use one of the alternative outlets as Wikipedia is not a soapbox or a stump from which to "inform" the public about a political campaign. It is an encyclopedia. Subjects of articles must meet notability requirements for inclusion. All content must be cited from reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and have a reputation for fact checking. It is unlikely you will be allowed to edit directly about yourself or the Patriotic Democratic American Workers' Party. You will not be allowed to add external links to your party webpage or your campaign. You will beable to suggest or request edits. Please read and heed WP:COI. You will need to declare your conflict of interest. Please describe how you will help to improve Wikipedia, the world's larges free-content encyclopedia. Sockpuppet investigation[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Patriotic Democracy, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
