Hi there, Paularnhold, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm a regular contributor here, and when I notice on the recent changes log that a new editor has registered, I like to send them a welcome message - that's how I ended up on your talk page.

Here are a few features of Wikipedia that I find particularly helpful:

If you leave a message on a talk page, you can sign it with four tildes (~~~~), which will automatically produce your name and a date stamp when you save the page
The "Show preview" button allows you to look at what your post will look like before you save it - that way, you can proofread what you've written and not have to back and correct spelling mistakes, failed links, etc.
You can create a watchlist for yourself that will keep a record of any changes made to a page that interests you.

There are plenty of other features and facets of Wikipedia, many of which I probably haven't even discovered myself, so have fun looking around and finding them.

Please stop. If you continue to use Wikipedia for advertising, as you did in Document management system, you will be blocked from editing.

I don't understand why you considered the post under document management as spam. There were a number of other companies listed there and Perceptive Software is, as they are, a document management company. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will attempt to deal with them now. Contrary to how it might seem, I am not just picking on you -- I simply saw you first. If you look at the history of their page, you will see that it was immediately rendered to a semi-acceptable (i.e. non-advertisement) version. It was only recently vandalised back to a spamming version by an anonymous IP. I will, however, nominate them for deletion as well, since they also do not fit WP:CORP or WP:WEB requirements. If you have any more questions, please feel free to add to my talk page. Thanks. Laserfiche[edit]

Re your comment about Laserfiche, it seems they do meet all the above policies. Please see the "References" section on their page. Note that these articles are NOT published by themselves, and so are acceptable under WP:SOFTWARE, etc. The article also certainly does not read like advertising copy, but more like an encyclopedic entry. --Storkk 22:55, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your rights on WP & re {{prod}} tag[edit]

In the spirit of full disclosure (and to demonstrate that I hold no grudge), please also note that (unlike a "db" (speedy delete) tag) you may remove a "prod" tag from the page, provided you either:

a) dispute (with detailed reasoning) the arguments on the talk page of the article and/or
b) edit the article so as to conform with the arguments given in the prod tag.

I sincerely request you do not do this, since I highly doubt you can dispute them successfully. However, as an editor, you have the right to. If you do (and I still don't think the results conform to policy), I will list your article on WP:AFD, where a discussion will take place until an administrator decides what to do. I mention this in the interest of full disclosure, and hope that instead of doing so, you will mention to me competitors (unlike Laserfiche - see above comment) that have been unfairly well treated: i.e. do not comply with WP:CORP, WP:WEB or WP:SOFTWARE but yet are not listed for deletion.

Please note that the above comments don't wholly apply to the {{advert}} tag... If you remove the prod tag, I cannot replace it (per policy), but must use an AfD procedure. The advert tag, however must be rectified by cleaning up the article so that it doesn't sound like an ad. This diff is a mild example (that didn't go far enough) of what is needed in order to remove an advert tag, UNLESS you dispute it on the article's talk page.

To inform you of further rights, you may also report my actions to a WP:ADMIN to clarify what they think of my actions, or (if you are really serious about doing me in) create an WP:RFC. Please note, this is no joking business. I inform you about this because you are new, and you have an Eris-given right to know your rights. I'd respectfully suggest that I said absolutely no such thing. I believe my words (here, on the entry's talk page, and on its AfD page [found here]) were to the effect that you can re-create the article when the proper sources exist, per Wikipedia policies found here, here, and here. When you re-create the article with reputable, verifiable sources and assertions of notability, Wikipedia welcome your contributions which we will certainly deem valuable. Paul, you also suggested by some of your comments that you were of the opinion that I deleted something. I did not. Please see WP:AFD for an outline of Wikipedia's deletion process. I am not a janitor, hence am not empowered to delete any article, category or template myself. User:(aeropagitica), as the AfD for Perceptive Software indicates, was the person to close it. Okay, I apologize, but I must have misunderstood. Is there a way I can get the content I had generated on Wikipedia, as I know it was close to meeting the site's standards. Administrators have the ability to retrieve deleted content. You may ask one of them (I'm not too sure how successful you might be, I've never tried). Alternatively, when your company meets WP:CORP, you may ask for a temporary undeletion, per bullet point #4 on WP:UNDEL. Sorry it took so long to reply - in the future, it would be easier if you replied on my talk page. Thanks! All the best for your company. License tagging for Image:Perceptive Software.PNG[edit]

Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
